  • I suprised it wasn't by spanish orchestra.

  • very noble and very sad... It will always be Layla for me.... : (

  • i love the fact its london symphony orchestra doing rock AND its a LP copy. Classic

  • Sounds like Conan the BArbarian.

  • I was looking for the actual song, but being a violinist, I couldn't help but look as this one :3

    LSO 4ever :D)))))

  • Anyone else think of one of those James Bond knock-offs that came out during the 80s when they hear this?

  • Does anybody know this song? It goes a little something like this. Dent dent da da...dent dent da da..ahhh ahhh la lala...If anybody could help me out that would be great.

  • It sounds like spanish music at the begining

  • @setp

I commented similarly on another posting of this version. My thinking was along the lines of the opening credits theme to a Western.

  • This piece, if not one of the best rock n roll songs ever written, would have actually made a good classical number by itself.

  • @theatlantisrise It was written as a ballad, originally. Ballads and orchestras work hand in hand.

  • expertly arranged!

  • my god thats music,

    just hear those violins

    i got the chills !!!

    brrrrr !

    hehehe.. really

  • @nahum67

Try the arrangement of Standing in the Shadows of Love that has been uploaded

  • I love the end!

  • @dumbdogsdontbark

Ditto with the arrangement of Standing in the Shadows of Love that has been uploaded

  • i can only imajin what its like not to have heard the original, this one first.

but then again it takes away the centamental value of haveing this song in your memory from high school , listining to this is so much more deep.

  • There are two types of Orchestral/Rock hybrids out there to choose from. The first is the lazy way, playing a transliteration of the rock song exactly to specs. The second is the good version, using the themes presented in the rock tune but composing a new and proper classical piece. LSO has done both in its history and I am glad to say that this tune is strongly leaning towards the second form.

  • at 3:15 i get goosebumps! absolutely wonderful! i love these old classic versions !

  • Brilliant!

  • Get those French Horns blowing their guts out... it is too soft... down key the cornets and flutes... they are clashing with the violins... use trombones..finish is excellent.....

  • in some ways it sounds like a nintendo theme!

  • Nah... Sounds more like the soundtrack to a western.

The overture used during the opening or closing credits.

  • yeah, i can see that!! definately!!

  • a bit stiffer than the original but good .. maybe a little too frantic

  • the percussion is cool in this :)

  • i sure would like to see a symphonic version of Tears in Heaven...

  • You can never get enough rock, or london symphony orchestra, so putting them together is like heaven

  • Awesome!

  • Tell us the conductor please?

  • Peter Knight who also did some arrangements. HTH :0)

  • This gives me chills, oh my effing god!!! Is the cd of this available anywhere? Whats it called?

  • Symphonic Rock: British Invasion, Vol. 1

  • London symphony orchestra is the best!!!!!!!! fantastic, incredible, brilliant, so much good!!!!!

  • can i buy a CD with all their modern classics???????? they are brilliant!!!!!!!

  • you have london symphony orchestra "rock symphonies 1-3" "british invasion1-2" look em up.

  • Almost as good as the original. I love their version of "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty, I think that that and "The final Countdown" are some of the better LSO covers.

  • Yeah. Final Countdown was absolutely brilliant and was so epic.

  • Brilliant, incredible, powerfully emotive stuff.

  • The most powerful rock song of all time given the 'class' it deserves...

  • Sweet This is pure Awesome =^}>

  • More than brilliant..pure emotion....soo powerful..

  • Aha! This is fantastic.

  • this should totally should have been used for a classic action movie. In my head I see Indie.

  • Homework for all kind of music..:))

  • More please. These are brilliant.

  • wow, wasn't expecting that!!!

  • @zakwashere well put!

  • @zakwashere

If you haven't seen/heard it already, you should look up the Scorpions "Hurricane 2000" with the Berlin Philharmonic. That one was surprising too.

  • I adore the LSO version of this classic!....my favourite piece!, in fact this has given me an idea to put this to a firework display I will set up this summer!

  • Brilliant.
