I have a R4 SDHC Dual-core smart update card, and it was working fine, then one day, when I turned on my DSi to play the games, it went blank. The menu was there, just that the games had disappeared. I looked at it on the computer and it seemed fine. so I got another firmware thingy and now it freezes on the loading screen!!!! HELP :O
Thanks for this, chose your vid because it didn't have a running time like most of 10 min to fix a 5 min issue. For me it was #3 both times, sign into the site you need (r4 or r4i) and download the most recent file, mine was the 1.5 today, after unzipping open main file and move the 4 files 1 at a time, delete the old ones on your sd card first, safely eject and bam, your DS loading issue is gone (and you get the newest fixes n skin etc) Good work

When you say "Fake" do you mean inferior or "fake" as in not the original, with the potential of actually being better than the original and a predecessor. According to you mine is fake cos its a R4ultra and handles SDHC. Sure it can't handle Wood or other custom firmware but why when the firmware off their site works for newer games and alot more attractive.
Awesome, this sorted me out. Evidently, I had the fake R4 (So THAT'S why it cost $1.99 shipped from China) and using the firmware from r4ds-ds fixed it. It's 1.18, I hope that's good enough to run a lot of games. I'm not sure how often these fake R4's firmware are updated, the real one seems to be updated regularly.

Other firmwares make it loop on a 'loading' screen or a black screen. Wood was the only firmware that actually booted. Problem is that it won't run any games, they all end up in a white or black screen.
@Lorre852 Ok, I see the problem. Your old files have been corrupted or you have outdated firmware. Try going on r4dsl.net. Once you get there, on the top right corner should be a language section. Choose English, then click on Download next to the R4 company logo. Choose the kernel your card accept. Hope this helped.

But everything else won't play. PKMN SoulSilver, Bleach, Disgea, Scribblenauts, nothing. And they all worked perfectly with the normal R4 firmware I had. It's just the Wood freezes my roms on load. I boot WAIO.nds, then woodr4dld(whatever).nds, then boot a game, and it goes to a white screen.

hey, i've got an r4 but i'm not sure if it's fake or not, or even what type of r4 it is. the box has been thrown away, and the sticker on the casing is of no use. Hi, I tried following your way but it still stuck. My R4 is not fake (it worked before but for some reason it stopped working and so I had to reformat it). I just put one game and it's still stuck at loading. I am using a normal R4. Please help.
heeeyy i got the solution to this loading screen problem ! itss the files on the memory card in the r4 card. youve probably deleted the files or you probably dont even have the files which you need. Mine is R4i SDHC Revolution for DS (NDSI/NDSL/NDS), It works at first, until i update the firmware, then it frozes.. And i think it's real, coz' i peeled the stickers, and find no chip thingy... What should i do? o.o

@yeomond It's okay, I figured it out. It seems that mine is a clone (T.T) so i need a special firmware for the clones.... Thanks anyway!! OH AND BTW, what's the name of the music you used on the video? It's AWESOME O.O

i have an r4 sdhc(it says so on the sticker) ,no microchip underneath it and shipped with a micro sdhc card 4gb, and has worked perfect for 2 years, ever since i tried wood r4 1.11 it froze the loading screen.

if u had read, the wood r4 firmware is for the original r4, not r4sdhc or anything.
no microchip beneath it does not mean it is original sorry about the confusion

In Turkey I bought 300 games in 1 and it is on R4. There was only the cartridge and no cabels. It normally worked, but yesterday it stopped working. It freezes at Loading screen. Does any1 know, how to fix it?

Hi, I tried following your way but it still stuck. My R4 is not fake (it worked before but for some reason it stopped working and so I had to reformat it). I just put one game and it's still stuck at loading. I am using a normal R4. Please help.

heeeyy i got the solution to this loading screen problem ! itss the files on the memory card in the r4 card. youve probably deleted the files or you probably dont even have the files which you need. But i have the files on my computer! if you have hotmail or facebook. i can give it to you over that! just let me know whats your email address. remember this is only for people who have r4 cards for nintendo ds lite ok thnkss .

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 8 year old son has an R4 card that now has error when he turns it on that says "SD/TF card error" Can you PLEASE help. I am not good with computers so is there anyway that you could walk me thru the process to fix it.

My R4 worked fine until I wiped the MicroSD for use on my phone for a while. Bought a new card recently to start using my DS again but the newer kernels don't work on either card.
I'm not sure if it's 'official' or not, but it worked 100% before I got the newer software.

Hey man, I followed what you did, checking my R4 if its fake (btw, its DSlite), download the firmware/Kernel, put in the files, and yes, my R4 is original. But after doing all those, I safely remove the SD card (and its not fake also), inserted it on my R4, then on my DS, its just stuck with "Loading..." at the end. I need help man. I did other steps like formatting the R4. can you help me?

@Ajweezy3 its not fake, its a clone, a copy of the r4 but it supports bigger sd cards and supports sdhc, i love my r4 sdhc, and you should too.

I tryed downloading the kernel for the R4, and i turned on my DSi and it says, " An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." I Lifted the sticker to see if it was a fake and WALLA!, there wuz no MicroChip inside it.. WHAT DO I DO!!! help me! =[ =[ =[
