  • we don't have to be ashamed of the name Iran, although i would have rather Persia instead of Iran, but the name is changed already and there are many other Iranians than only Persians. Mussavi is Turkish and not Persians! Farah Diba was not Persian, only Soraya was Persian...does that mean that Farah Diba such a great woman in our history doesn't deserve respect?

If you love your country and care about it's future, stop fighting with each other, make peace with each other

  • Realize that Turkey is different than Iran, in Turkey everyone is Turk or Kurd, nationalism works in Turkey, but not in Iran. if we want freedom and democracy, we should stop fighting, we should respect everyone's right....persians/Turks/Lor/Kurd/Gileki/Mazandarani/Beluch/Turkmen/Ghashghai and minority Arabs....Muslims/Christians/Jews/Zartoshti/Bahaie/socialist/communist/Gay...etc

  • don't fight here, if you care about Iran, stop nationalizing and fighting wigh each other.

Iran is not Persia anymore, Iran has 8 millions Turkish speaking Azery who are not Persian, 4 million Turkmen are not Persian, and we have so many nations like Beluch, Kurd and Christians, Jew even 400.000 Arabs living on Iraqi border in Khoozestan. And they are all Iranian.... we can't go to 4000 years ago to build a Persia again...each time we talk about Persia, we hurt the minorities.

  • Marg bar shah va sheykh

    Down with SHAH and Mullas!!!!

The fact that wemen could wear mini skirts before revolution 1979 not means that SHAH was the right man for Iran.

Majles or Parlement had no power in the Shahs time and the elections was not demokratic.

  • shut the fuck up. thanks to ignorant muslims this country is now what it is today. fuck the revolution islam is a load of crap and if you don't like my opinion don't give me a bullshit come back or bother with what i truly feel over this issue. IRAN IS A PERSIAN COUNTRY, NOT ARAB AND IT WILL ALWAYS STAY THAT WAY NO MATTER WHAT ARABS TRY TO DO TO CHANGE IRAN AND IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE THAT GOD DAMN ARABS THEN BACK OFF IRAN.

ARABIAN GULF? FUCK IT'S THE PERSIAN GULF GOD DAMN IT!

NO in the last Iranian Parliament we had 13 female rep

    the current 9

U.S. senate has 13 and thats a record

we have more women teachers than man

In Turkey women can't wear a scarf if they want to go to school so they are not a Muslim country

and in UAE no women holds any kind of power in the government

Yes Iran forces women to wear scarfs and in my opinion its wrong but would you rather wear a scarf and be able to do everything else or not wear one & have a perception of freedom

  • I do not support the monarchy. Nor do I agree with Rajaie-Khorassani's cultural relativism argument of 1981 regarding the UDHR. The UDHR is compatible with Islam.People in Iran do travel abroad. But Iran's weak economy makes the future for its youth bleak. Unemployment rises while Iranians are denied basic rights such as freedom of expression, religion and equality. The US and UK have no respect for democracy abroad. Iranians had a democracy under Mosaddegh, yet it was crushed by a CIA led coup.

  • Let me tell you what is a load of fucking bullshit. It's people using religion as a justification to deny Iranians their basic human rights.

If everyone who didn't like the Iranian government could get visas to live in the west, Iran would have like 2 people living there.

IRAN is for IRANIANS. Iranians aren't happy with their government, thus the government needs to step down.

  • I bet you don't live in an islamic republic! In fact I just know you don't! Idiot.

  • What a joke

In Saudi Arabia Women don't have the right to drive & they have to sit in the back when in a car

In Iran Women can have any Job they want besides President or Judge

we had or have female Vice Presidents, members of the Parliament, Race Car Drivers, ..

In Iran women can lay out the rules before they get married

I'm not saying Iran is perfect but

People that really care about women's rights wouldn't be talking about Iran they would use Iran as an example for other Muslim country's

  • You're right, women have far greater rights in Iran compared to Saudi Arabia. More and more university graduates in Iran are women. But what about Dubai and Turkey? They are middle eastern countries, wouldn't they be a better example to other middle eastern countries, even to Iran?
