  • That "doc" looks like a tranny!

  • Still de best 2011

  • old skool i love it.

  • @DrRenaldo Nuthin' like it.

  • 2011, bangin.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • My favorite video!!!!! Lol

  • The sad thing about haters are this video dont have bling, phat rides drugs or hoes.....The best thing this video does have is the flow the man creates. If you can not have respect for the classics do not watch this. (ps the hook does suck but the flow makes up for it :))

  • Listening to this song repeatedly when I was 13 the only reason I can say ASPCA without getting tongue-tied.

  • My favorite song

  • Another classic Halloween ol' skool jam.

  • The shoes are Bally's like Bally's swim and fitness. I used to have a pair

  • anita the beast! man i miss the eighties!

  • The REAL STORYTELLERS !!!!

  • LOL This Beat is similar to the Munsters.

  • hip hop was fun.... and this song was funny....to me back then

  • 1 of my favorite hip hop songs.

  • Slick Rick and Dana Dane were in a group called The Kangol Crew

  • Dana Dane was the original story teller...Slick rick took his style...everyone knows this...

  • @egojames007 If you do some research you would find out that Slick Rick started releasing records 4 years prior to Dana Dane so I would say that Dana Dane bit Slick Ricks style.

  • @wichtermaster Actually they use to be a group called The Kangol Crew.

  • @wichtermaster Dane bit Slick Rick's style. Matter of fact Ricky was born in England of Jamaican heritage, Dane is using a fake accent. he is American.

  • Dane and Slick Rick are friends..if you dont know dude

  • @Str8OuttahBkT And why is that info relevant. Is this pertinent data that only a privileged few are privy to. I know this dude. I've been listening to rap music for 3 years. That's immaterial. I merely stated that he is not the originator of the style. In fact Rick has said in interviews his style is a direct take from the Jamaican dancehall, and being Jamaican myself I know it is true. Back in the 70s and 80s, dancehall artistes would mix rapping with singing and tell stories.

  • @egojames007 its the other way around brother...bronx ny here ..

  • 1:57 original bling bling

  • I would listen to this on WBLS in NY back when I was a kid!

  • @sbauroth

Word! I used to have mad Mr. Magic tapes!!!

  • The shoes are called ballyes I think. The was the shoe everybody was wearing back then.

  • @treesmkr Not everybody...other shoe sytles of the era were Nike,Addidas & Converse (Vans were also very popular in the 80's)

  • What type of shoes are those?

  • @jj1023665 &@treesmkr Yeah they came out after British Walkers/Britishers like 85'. He's rockin the Alex the other joints were the Aden...

  • big ups to u dana dane

  • i'm the ultimate! classic sample

  • When this tape came out, I wasn't feeling it right away, but it grew on me.

  • @NorEEzta the chorus is out of place with the rest of the flow. And yet, it grew on me too.

  • This is a klassic track from way back!!

  • I used to play this over and over again in 86. classic.

  • Memories of High school in the 80's Wow... To cool totally a part of my party years

  • Dana Dane, Slick Rick...master rappers/story tellers...old school!!

  • dana dane, slick rick, mr. fresh....probably the only names that matter on my music player...

  • Did Dane say he did the HARLEM WORLD? What fuckin year was dis?

  • @dreambuilderiam he "dipped" to harlem world. this song came out 85'

  • was dana dane english

  • @djpressure123 He had an English accent but I don't think that he was originally from England ( I could be wrong) I think he's originally from the New York area. However, Slick Rick was actually born in England but raised in the New York area. Google it & it'll tell u all the facts. Peace.

  • @jacb630

Dana Dane is from Brooklyn Fort Green section. He used to rap in hs with Slick Rick and two other guys, that was their gimmick, rapping with a British accent.

  • @anthropological Thanx 4 the info my man. Peace. I didn't know that he rapped w/Slick Rick back in high school. By the way, R U from NY?

  • @jacb630

I am .... I was living in Brooklyn in 85 when Dana Dane came out. I actually heard him talk about this on Mr Magic's radio show back then

  • @anthropological 1985 was a big year 4 Hip Hop. LL put out his very first album that same year, Krush Groove was released in theaters, Run DMC had it on lock-man, what more can I say? That was a tremendous year. Since you seem 2 know a lot about old skool Hip Hop, I'm going 2 subscribe 2 ur page. Thanx again. Peace & luv.

  • @jacb630

85 WAS a great year.... and the summer jam in 85 was "The Show" and then "Ladi-dadi"... but on the underground was cut called "The Beat" by the Hollis Crew and "Girls" by the B-BoyMCs

  • Dana Dane, Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh were not just rappers, but master storytellers as well. Gotta rep the Old School!!

  • @Genkimark You said it man. This is from the time when mc's were story tellers. And you listed three of the best. There was of course Kurtis Blow, Dr Jekyel and Mr Hyde, The Treacherous 3. Really the list could go on and on. I'm an old school head. I barely listen to modern hip hop.

  • @Genkimark U absolutely right, my man. They don't tell stories nowadays. It's all about fake images. By the way, after listening to this song after all these years I never even knew that he had a video for this song. I guess u live & u learn. Peace

  • Damn, lyrics are tight for '85.

  • dammm this is so fresh im a 18 year old kat and i love hip hop

  • Daaym! Where's that accent from!!!!

  • He's from NYC, but he has that accent when he rhymes because he and Slick Rick were friends in high school. Peace.

  • Word!! it was written that he borrowed rick's style with the european accent and my man rick took notes on my man dana dress style!! although i think slick rick's style with that gear is untouched!!!! that nigga Nas use to get fly as fuck in his early dayz. Ghost and Rae gets it in when it comes to that true N.Y. street fashion!!!

  • @godzman7 for me, it was him and rick who set the trend for fly shit!. thats where ghost said he got his shit from. but nobody rock jewels like rick.
