Does this particular garmin unit have the ability to show time and/or miles remaining in the trip rather than only being able to show time of arrival?
#1 does it actually do the text-to-speech with road names?
#2 each time you enter an address does it prompt you with the option shortest time vs shortest distance (as opposed to one being selected as a default at all times)? If so...does it include the time/mileage of each option?
wasup i got the dnx6140 with back up camera kenwood ccd2000 how is it possible to view the back while driving? i could not figure out because i can only see the back when i am on reverse
There's an option where if you hold down the NAV button for more than second it'll either turn off the display or show the video-in (rearview camera).
does the unit lowers the music volume when speaking the the directions? or it completely postpones the music to say the navigation directions? let me know thanks
You can have it either mute the volume as it gives direction but the nav itself also has a separate volume you can configure so you can have it speak over your music which is how I have mine configured.
Your audio sounds great in the car, what setup do you have? Sub, Amp, Speakers? You should do a walk around video on the system, so we can see it. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Believe it or not everything else in the car is the stock Bose setup that Acura includes in the RSX Type-S. The only thing I changed was the head unit and it makes a huge difference.
what after market rear view mirror do you have?

is this the stock audio system? or did you add a sub?

That was a fun ride. I just sat back and enjoyed your driving lol. None of that racing crap, just a nice drive. Ohh, I have the same stereo.

two quick questions about the nav:
#1 does it actually do the text-to-speech with road names?
#2 each time you enter an address does it prompt you with the option shortest time vs shortest distance (as opposed to one being selected as a default at all times)? If so...does it include the time/mileage of each option?

#1) Yes
#2) No, you set the preference once in the settings.

Hi, any cons so far with the headunit? does the faceplate detachable? thanks!
whisperingvenus 2 years ago
No, so far it's been great. I can't imaging owning a car that doesn't have all these features. No, the faceplate isn't detachable.

@steguis how did you mount the camera?

It's just a license plate mounted camera...nothing special. I didn't want to drill my bumper.

Is the Ipod album art clear and is there a lag between tracks because of album art loading?
drjd2real 2 years ago
The album art is clear but small-ish since it's only displayed in a small square on the upper left hand side of the display.

It scoche (or whatever the spelling is). I used a metra kit I think for the wiring harness.

That HU goes for around $750 from a reliable shop on Ebay. It comes with everything I demonstrated except for the ipod cable which is an extra $30.
