Of course you wouldn't know this since I'm sure you haven't visited OWS yourself. A common complaint is the fact that when the bank profits they are private profits but when a bank fails the gov't socializes the losses - moral hazard, reinforcing overtly risky behavior. It is not fair to anyone to socialize losses, and I think that is the message here.

Did this a month ago. Moved our money from Citibank to our local credit union. Also, Whirlpool, after accepting bailout funds, has now decided to move several thousnad jobs overseas. My wife and I will no longer buy these products either. It's time to hit everyone of these fools where it hurts.

Where else in the world do they allow Plumbers, Electricians and Mechanics to charge you 140 dollars an hour. For christ sake some Surgeons do not even get that. What other country allows incompetent Lawyers to charge 4 to 600 dollars an hour for advice that isn't even worth 10 dollars an hour?

The way to get government back on track is to do the number one thing that must be accomplished. DO NOT ALLOW LOBBYIST ACCESS TO ANY POLITIICIAN IN ORDER TO GAIN PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT OR INFLUENCE THE VOTES ON THE FLOOR REGARDING LEGISLATION. Our Government has become as corrupted as Organized Crime due to the ability of Corporate America to gain access to decision makers on a local, regional and national level.

By ridding ourselves of the politicians, and regulating donations via ANY means, something can be done about controlling Banks, Brokerage and Mortgage firms.

What I am getting at is that we need to follow the money if we are to get to the root of the issue. All money leads back to the banks.
Yes we need to go after the Politicians too, but first we need to stop the banks from buying them off.
After they are out from under the thumbs of the bankers we can get them to reinstate regulation.
I don't think they will budge when they are getting all this money from the banks.

Politicians gave up "control" with the Federal Reserve act of 1913. They put control of the money and the economy in the hands of the Federal Reserve, which is not a Federal institution. Also around the time of the Fed Res Act was a law instating the Federal Income tax...This tax money goes directly to the Federal reserve bank as a means to pay the National debt.
Voting is just an amusement for me since the start of the Electoral College.. All of our votes are worthless to them.

How much money workers are expected to make? Tax cut is not only for rich, but for poor people too. Tax cut creates jobs and spending. We have to stop being jealous of rich people. Many rich people were poor or part of middle class. They are rewarded by hard work. It means that you want to punish them for being hardworkers. There is no system that everybody is equal economically. Protesters do not create jobs. More you tax, more jobs will be shipped out of America.

Banks control the government. Even if it weren't so, you would only get so many to turn up at the white house and fed. This way we have protests in every major city. I do think there should be a huge occupy where congress meets. Make them uncomfortable. I also hope people are doing other acts of non-compliance such as turning off their t.v., taking their money out of the banks.

The idea that banks control the government is just simple ignorance, they are in collusion with each other and work together as there are two different sides to a coin but they comprise one coin.
