It's okay and not to be hating or anything, but WORK ON YOIR TIMPANI TECHNIQUE!!!!!! it was driving me crazy throughput the song. Use your wrist instead of your arm and use strong piston strokes. Other than that, great performance! I love the string trio part. Very nicely split.

How long? A long time, more than a decade, lets put it that way. Vibrato, how long? i dont know at this point. But just practicing, thats how we all get better -- that along with some good guidance from a teacher of course.

One way to learn vibrato is to treat it like shifting. Slide back and forth between 1st and 3rd positions. Obviously since its a shift, you move the whole hand and arm together, not just the finger. Do this sliding rhythmically. Make the slides shorter and shorter. Then keep finger in place but try to shift back and forth. Bingo! I think the book "viva vibrato" has exercises that are like what im talking about ... if ii remember right. Best I can do in text... much worse 500 characters or less.

Well, in actuality, I was too slow or maybe better to say I was inconsistent. In any case I did fail on the timpani.

The way I wrote out my sheet music, I reckoned the meter to be 12/8 time, and I was supposed to hit on beat 12 of the bars that had a tympani part. In otherwords the intent was to sound the drum exactly 1/8 note before the downbeat ... you know, just like in the original song.

Why timpani? Because I heard them in the original song and I own a set, so why not? I only played at the same times as in the original song. So since that playing was minimal, mine was too.

Easiest? I dont know. Too many factors to consider. I'd just say they are all easy, at least compared to playing real music. For example, a serious classical piece like say the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto took me almost a year to learn well, but i can bang out any pop song in a day or two before I am ready to record and publicly post it. If I had the time, I could release a new video on this scale every day. So they are all easy. Work on your violin basics, technique, exercises, and you will see
