I remember when I bought the cassette tape on the day it came out. Being a super-fan, I was excited beyond belief. Then, when I heard it, I was honestly confused... Huh? I had to listen to it over and over before I grew to love it and consider it a classic. (And I've met people who only like TLM!) For fans, I think we sensed this was an early Frank Black record more than a Pixies collaboration. It's all retrospect, but that's what I was thinking.
