osha reg is 6 ft he could use a beam strap and short line lanyard a fall from 3 ft can kill even if he fell and did not die he could be injured and not able to support his family way to many possibilities to list a little safety goes along way and this country can be built with less loss of life it is every persons responsibility to stop an unsafe act when you see it ,what if that was your kid or parent
im a scaffolder and work at heights all the time, he obviously is comfortable working at height so leave him be, people see someone working high and automatically think the person is gonna die, how do you think the world is built?? If the guy was wearing a harness you would all think it is safe even though he would probably still hit the ground once his harness has ripped open its shock absorber. Go back to your pen and paper and put the fucking camera away,,,
@stevostono You need some training. You dont wait until someone falls and then tell them to wear a harness when the worker is dead. And with a harness, it would have slowed his decent, even if it didnt full extend, its the way the lanyards are made, which may have saved his life if he would have fallen. I do agree with the put the camera away statement, he should have said something.
@blacktoothgriner wrong fall protection is required for all heights above 6 feet,,,unless you are connecting working directly with a rig and trained specificly as a connector,,,and you need to have fall protection on ,,,,and then you can only go 25 feet or two floors,,,,oahs sub part r instructor
Ok, what's with the smart ass comments of the camera guy? Is the camera guy a safety guy? if so why didn't he tell the guy to get down? he obviously had enough footage to levy a fine. why "urge" him to fall? sick bastard, as you can tell he doesn't give a damn about his life, just the money that would the worker/company would be fined.

If he ever falls, he should land on his head. The skull is the most strongest bone in the whole body.

in this situation harness is useless so make a scaffolder to work freely .. and apply safety harness for safety precaution

OSHA 12 states that fall protection is needed above 25 feet for iron work. All others trades 12 feet.
you still have to where a harnes even when there is no place to tie off.
