how do you get a flash in the MIDDLE of a video/clip on WMM?

Oh, back then, I had to use a white picture and put it in between the clips because i didn't know how to make it flash xD But I found out that if the clip is short enough, you can use fade in or out in white and it should flash. If that doesn't work, then i'm sorry to say but you have to put a white picture in between the clips.
