Don't whine, Dougmmm. Saying homosexuality is "pathologic" to evolution, as if we go against it? What the hell do you call menopause? Yet we don't try to tell women, "uh, hey, you should start bleeding again. You know, for the good of the species." Not all organisms have to procreate to benefit the population. Committed, loving same-sex relationships make COMPLETE sense because we share common struggles, values, and we provide each other strength, just like any healthy relationship.

Your comments about menopause are just plain silly. Menopause prevents a female to old from producing defective infants. You're confusing social engineering with evolution. The former has an agenda, the latter none.

There are certain indications that a gene that makes homosexuality more likely in males causes an increase in fertility in females. There could very well be an evolutionary sense in homosexuality.

I have no reason for wishful thinking on this topic, I am not homosexual. I am just echoing the science, use google.
By the way, even if hypothetically no biological reason for homosexuality is found, why should you deny a homosexual couple marriage? What reason is there? Homosexuals have, like all humans, a right to a perfectly equal and open partnership and to absolute equality in society.

No they dont have a right to marry. Society does not offer marriage to any comination of orifices, even if biologically capable. You cannot marry your sister, daughter etc. Is that denying me a right ? Of course not. Society has given the fundamental building block of human society a special status - marriage. Im all in favour of giving homosexuals civil unions etc but NOT marriage.

You could take any argument used against same-sex marriage and replace a few words and have exacty the same arguments used against blacks and women in the past -- and in some places even the present! It's time these bigots are exposed for what they truly are. How many examples do we need that diversity isn't going to impinge on the lives of the "majority"? Before the majority gets it??
