  • I saw this in MSG in '99! It was amazing!! :)

  • The MSG Production was actually the best!!

  • I seem to remember, when I saw this, Ertha Kitt was sick, so we saw this actress. But hey, I liked her. I saw the new tour just the other day. That witch had no clue what she was doing.

  • Oh my gosh, this takes me back. I was seven when I saw this show live in 1999.

  • I remember the tour version. Me and my grandmother went and saw it, and I was like "That was short". :l But it was awesome!

  • Lara Teeter is amazing!

  • Do you know where I can get the full production?? This is a GREAT cast, thanks for posting this!! And I know it was at Madison Square Garden (as in this footage) but I never knew it went any where else Where else did it go, do you know??

  • "Dorothy is it? Can i call ya Dot?" Hahahha

  • Those bitches!!! They locked the poor puppy in a basket I'd like to lock who ever came up with that idea in the basket!!! If it was stuffed animal I never even posted this!!;)

  • Are they painted Black and White?!

  • @danaaa130 do you mean the people too? no it's just the lighting they used. if you dont mean the cast, then yes the backdrops and props were painted black and white.

  • Forget It! Ms.Worley..or as I prefer to call her..Ms.Wacky is not "Ms.Guilch"..nor is she"The Wicked Witch Of The West!".

  • the wizard of oz is sick

    there evl

  • cool

  • wizardofozfan39 how did dorothy get the oil in part 5 -4 it just appeared

  • i dont like the funniness they gave to the wicked witch, it tgakes away from her true character

  • boring

  • LOL the wicked witch is on drugs, THERREE GONE , "Are they in here" !! NOOO. :D

  • My high school is doing this for their Spring Musical and I laughed so hard at the Witch's ad-lib when the Ruby Slippers disappear: "Are they in here? Have you seen the Ruby Slippers?", that I convinced Mrs. DeMeester, the director, to use that in the show! Only this time, it would be funnier if the Witch would go into the house looking through the closet and the bedsheets and she'd shake one of the Munchkins while she said, "Have you seen the Ruby Slippers?!"

  • omgsh i love the wicked witch. lol" can i can you Dot" lol so funny. I love the yellow brick road

  • that is the BEST scarecrow I have EVER seen! x

  • Wow. They're all really, really good

actors and actresses. Nearly as good

as the movie, in my opinion.

  • holy crud!! my cousin was in wizard of oz a few times and when she was in it in los angeles she wore the same exact costume as this girl and the other costumes for the other characters were the same too!!

  • r they really the one who's singing..is she really the one who's singing??? 'cause it's good!!!

  • its madame morrible!

  • Oh, Mickey Rooney lol

  • This Miss Gulch/Wicked Witch is absolutely hilarious!! Her "scream" is so funny! Mickey Rooney is pretty good as the Wizard too. :-)

  • O i cant believe Mickey Rooney was still alive then wow he changed a alot he used to be a little cute but Judy Garland and him made a good couple too bad she died then.

  • @JudyGarlandRocks what do you mean then? Mickey Rooney is still alive now lol

  • what happens after 6:43?

  • The Witch continues to hassle Dorothy for the Ruby Slippers. Are you not familiar with the story?

  • i was laughing soo hard when the witch part came on. that lady is sooo funny

  • I wish I could have seen this production.

  • I wish I could have been IN this production. Dorothy has a beautiful voice btw.

  • " are they in here? " God shes great!

  • How did they get the dog to stay?

  • He was professionally trained. He followed subtle cues given by Dorothy and sometimes his trainer from offstage.

  • Like? Im very curious. ( If you know )

  • @EllisCunAndEllieAdd

    We had 3 dogs.

    1 did tricks

    1 didn't move

    1 was light to carry.

They were the best trained doggies!

  • it is good

  • how did you get that close to them?

  • This was taped professionally and sent out to news programs, etc. to promote the show in cities that it was coming to. A program would take a few small clips and create their own little TV spots, trailers, etc.

  • wow she acks like oprah if her food is cold

  • Mike Rooney is from that movie....uuhhhh...phantom of the cineplex? right?

  • Yes, I do believe he was in that. Of course, he is better known for the "Andy Hardy" film series of the 1930s & '40s.

  • and his movies with judy garland

  • It's Joanne Worley. I worked at The Drowsy Chaperone when it was on Broadway, she played Mrs. Tottendale and she was amaziiing!

  • it joanne pactitti

  • it seems JoAnne improvised a lot

  • JoAnne Worley is sooooooo great!

  • This looks like a great production!
