Can you rotate the lens view to shoot side ways , just to lay it flat on something rather than standing up and the wind knocks its down? Does the Viewfinder have to be open all the time for it to record ?

I use a iMovie'08 or Final Cut Express4.
only push button to start transcoding QuickTime. very easy.
