Anyone who believes that this is a legitimate medical practice is a moron. Go read some research on it, and you'll find that it's totally ineffective, and often dangerous to the ear. Also, the substance inside the candle after the procedure has been found to simply be wax and ash from the candle. Don't put your hearing at risk. The body is designed to remove contaminants from the ear naturally. It's called earwax, and it's a good thing, not something to be removed.
@ycc4life Hey - Thanks for tuning in and watching CYH. I'm passionate about giving people choices for creating the life they want and I think it's cool of you to tune in. Regarding ear coning, there is plenty of information out there that also speaks of it's benefits so take what you like and leave the rest. @ghettokaiba And have a pill for everything which always has a huge list of ridiculous side effects. The FDA is tied to the big name pharmaceutical companies and receive large amounts of money from them. Do some research, it's pretty ridiculous really. Western medicine is great for technological advances in surgeries etc.. but their motto is treat the symptom not the cause. Pretty poor concept if you ask me and many others.
@ycc4life You are absolutely right. We wew amazed at what we saw when we bought the cones and used them but then I offered to burn one cone separately, without sticking it in an ear. And we saw absolutely the same - what we thought was earwax was a kind of mix of propolis and wax from the candle!
i did it for the 1st time last night, i was skeptical too, but i did it, and it worked, cleared out all that crap, i got it from a gnc store 2 for $9, but i found it cheat on the web, so i ordered some for next time, i was on 2 different inhalers, and 3 more pills, none of that crap even slowed down the symptoms, my sinuses are almost all clear i think i need to do it a few more times, on youtube, i saw a lot of knockle head videos about it that is what convinced me to try it cause ordinary pep
I love ear waxing. I do it about ever six months. I don't as much gunk or wax, as Peter got, but I do feel better when I'm done.
I highly recommend it for people who suffer from sinus problems.
I do have a question for the people who don't believe it works. Have you even tried it? I truly believe if you did, you would be more positive about it.
Even is ear candling did create a vacuum(and thats a big if) then can anyone explain to me how that would extract wax from the ear? The only possible time for the wax to come out would be right when the cone goes in and initially creates the vacuum, after that the cone and ear canal are a vacuum so its not like it could be extracting the wax in any way, theres no air flowing through it.
OK, enough CRAP about ear candling (coning) Ear candling does NOT remove wax from ears It produces gunk, but gunk comes from the CANDLE Prove this using the SCIENTIFIC METHOD Buy an ear scope (about $20. Less than cost of ear candling session) 1 Get someone with ear wax (check with scope) 2 Candle ear 3 Check ear with scope 4 WAX IS STILL THERE 1 Get someone with NO ear wax (check with scope) 2 Candle ear 3 Candle produces gunk 4 No ear wax initially means GUNK CAME FROM CANDLE
I totally agree, you get soooo much candle wax in your ear and gunk just from candling. I hear coning works tho, and i beleive it cuz theres no gunk involved.
The vacuum force required to dislodge the earwax from your ear canal would destroy your eardrum. it is most likely that the "dirt" found inside the candle is just from the beeswax that it is made out of and soot from burning the linen. If you're that into the placebo effect, stick an unlit carrot in your ear. It will do the same thing and be less damaging to your ear.
you should keep in mind that the ear candling takes time, it doesn't take 1 minute so the force required to dislodge earwax does not need to be as strong to get the amount removed from the video. its a fairly slow process. from your logic a gust of wind would do more damage, and standing outside during a storm would make you go deaf.
haha are you retarded? you could have a candle burning for 10 years and it still wouldn't create a vacuum effect sufficient enough to pull ear wax from your ear canal. also note, there is no "vacuum" created in your ear by burning a candle. also your gust of wind example doesn't make sense as wind isn't a vacuum. nice try though. this stuff is a hoax. not to mention, your ear canal is tiny compared to the amount of "earwax" "pulled" from the candle.
Listen up and listen well, retard. THE VACUUM FORCE REQUIRED TO DISLODGE THE EARWAX FROM YOUR EAR CANAL WOULD RUPTURE YOUR EAR DRUM. You could put a vacuum cleaner hose to your ear and it still wouldn't be able to suck out your ear wax, but it sure would ruin your hearing. Do you get it now? Can you please stop being willfully ignorant for the sake of humanity please?
i just gave you a scientific explanation of why ear coning doesn't work. if you want to cite the placebo effect, then go ahead. but if that's the case, you could stick a carrot in your ear and achieve the same results. or better yet, just light a candle by itself and compare an contrast the insides to one that you've stuck in your ear. i guarantee they'll both look the same. enjoy your willful ignorance you idiot.
I don't know about this ear coning but I do know when I went to my ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor) that he does use a small straw-like vacuum to remove the wax from my ears. It's not a continuous suction , its short bursts of suctioning. So a vacuum is used but no way near the amount of what they show in the candle comes out and it doesn't look like that.
wonderful vid!!!! My sister's boyfriend Stan never cleans his ears except for when he spends the night at my house. He always cleans them with my personal tweezers and doesn't clean them afterwards! CHERYL- TELL STAN TO GIVE IT A REST OR ELSE!!
I have coned both of my boys' ears, my husbands ears, and my friends' kids ears. It does work. In fact I have a friends daughter that had an ear infecting 4-6 times a year. When I started doing her ears she hasn't had an infection in her ears for about 4 years now. Case proven!
Some people just don't got have anything else better to do than complain. Gheez, where's the peace in this world. Rioting about ear wax candling, lol. Much props for maintaining your comproser Peter. And Azadeth666, if you respond to this post, which I know you will in the very imtimidating way you will do, lol, i will not even entertain myself in such a belittle conversation. Just go outside, get your yourself away from the p.c. and live life, instead of starting opposing debates online.
These people later went out and bought 1000 of these candles and got the SAME amount of FAKE ear wax each time. How can this be??? They know their ears cannot have the same amount of ear wax EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! lol They know they have been FOOLED! They did a Google search on "Ear candle scam" and learned the truth! lol Anyone who believes in ear candling is an ... IDIOT!
Well, once again, thanks for tuning in. I'm not hear to dispute you. Besides your opinion is too strong to argue with it. You didn't hear me when I said it made a big difference in my life.
Well, thanks for tuning in. CYH is all about giving people choices for improving their life. Take what you like and leave the rest. BUT..having said that, this was an incredible experience and it helped me get over some serious congestion and hear better.
I'm 92 years old and have had my ears shot off in the second world war. My hopes were crushed when I learned that this video was about ear 'coning' and not, in fact, ear 'cloning'.

@RedDaVincy If ears were compatible, I would absolutely donate mine to you. I'm a marine brat and, while I don't understand what veterans went through, I know to respect them. If you find out anything new, please let me know.
Ear Candling is not only complete crap, but is harmful. Google it!
The candles are actually illegal and banned from import into the US and Canada. The FDA and Health Canada are both strongly against this practice, as it has caused numerous burns, occlusions (ears plugged up with burning candle wax), and even a perforated eardrum.
haha. oh gosh, that made me laugh. that was a lot of stuff. i've never tried ear coning, but it looks very interesting. i've used ear picks that those feel good, but this looks like a very exotic alternative to removing wax.
You get the residue even if you burn it while it's not in your ear. I used to make these for a beeswax business, they don't work. And they're very dangerous. People have permanently lost hearing from poorly made earcandles.
My roommate and I used to do this to each other, then one time I decided to do it myself. I do not recommend this! I burned my sheets. Hahaha! Yes, some of the "debris" is the wax from the candle, but you definitely feel the difference when you do it.
Can you tell me the difference between the darker orange looking wax and the lighter looking powdery stuff? What is the powder stuff and how ofter should one clean their ears, using coning?
Can you tell me the difference between the darker orange looking wax and the lighter powdery looking (stuff?) what is the powder stuff? How ofter should one do this type of ear cleaning?
Hey - Thanks for watching! I don't think there is any danger in ear coning from what I can tell. The cone never goes in your ear very far and it's quite comfortable. If you get an ear coning let me know what your experience was.
I thought the same thing until I actually did it myself. My hearing was vastly improved and I could really tell the difference between the two ears when we taped this. It helped my but either way thanks for taking a look at CYH!
You'd get the same result if you stick the lit cone in an empty bottle!....... All the empty bottle's "wax" will magically appear in the cone! So much for magic cleaning!!
This is simply not true. I had my ears coned. I waited a few days and had it done again. In the first session, there was matter present in the cone. During the second coning there was none. If you have not actually stuck one in an empty bottle and found the same sort of debris that is shown in this video, you should not make such blanket statements. If you do, it is simply an opinion.
Hi - Thanks for sharing your opinion. Sorry it didn't work for you. It has for me and for several people I know. If nothing was in the cones after your second session then could it be that you didn't need a second session...your ears were probably cleaned out from the first time you did it. Either way, thanks for tuning in. I take a positive approach to all the modalities I share with people on CYH and leave it up to you to try what you like. Take what you like and leave the rest.
