I have seen two mandalas created and one destroyed.They were respectively for The Medicine Buddha and for World Peace.The first was in Burlington VT in the mid 90's.The second was in Asheville NC in the early 2000's.I am amazed and ever shall be!Thank you for posting this one,so lovely!
it is such a cool form of art, because it is literally all about the process, nobody would would see it in a gallery (or at least it would seem) awesome

Traditionally most sand mandalas are destroyed shortly after their completion. This is done as a metaphor of the impermanence of life.
