My dad got clocked over the head with the lock for something like this. He had to male sure all the rifles were prooerly locked to the bunks, and one lock wasnt properly closed.
@KadSkirata A friend of my dad's was a door gunner in vietnam and in boot camp the first thing he recieved as he got off the bus was a punch in the face.
@DustinOfPersonality Exactly. They do that to instill into the recruit the notion that if they screw up, their buddies pay the price so as to ensure soldiers/marines don't make any fuckups in the heat of battle.
@Mutlap 1st thank you for your service to this country, I truly appreciate your sacrifice. 2nd, as I have never had the honory of being in the military due to my disability, were D.I's really like this in the 70'S?
@comsfan09 very much so. The yelling is providing a stressful experience. This stress is meant to give the recruit, in my opion, stress that one might experience in combat. It's not just to mess with recruits. It has a purpose. The training tuffins one up before the storm so to speak!
@comsfan09 I was in a barracks that looked just like what you see. The DI is a retired marine
who also had the opportunity to be a drill instructor. So his performance is right on Semper fi do or die as they say! I had some very interesting experiences in Boot camp. Because I was only 17 and looked 14 the drill instructors really road me hard. I gained 60 lbs while in boot cap and they really toughened p for sure! They really instilled the survival instinct kill or be killed!
