  • notice theres a bridge to this jam....and he rapping nonstop...dont sound like he reading from some paper...LOL!!!

  • this jam was the SHIT back then...i dropped outta college a few months later...LOL!!!! the funkies jam he made if ya ask me

  • Im a 41 year old ol' skool hip-hop fan. I remember buying this on tape before deploying to germany. Only to buy the album and 12" album two months later. That is when hip-hop was taking over the world. And what is so cool is this still bumps harder then most of the so-called hip-hop crap out there now.

    Hip-Hop Forever.

  • i'm saying it now. a lot of these new rap dudes can rap...but they have no style. 90's had styles.

  • bump dis album today

  • dis was my shit

  • dis cd was very overlooked n underrated

  • My God. I have just found myself a new favourite rapper. Amazing.

  • This is Excellent but i must warn You ..................................... DO NOT LISTEN TO THE ENDING OF THIS SONG ON THE ALBUM VERSION. IT IZ WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO GAY

  • I dont want to get mixed up in yo shit but brotha byron 84 talkin truth the chronic came out first and they had George Clinton on that Joint wit dat shit Let me Ride, But Redman still Fuckn dat shit up.

  • The coolest thing about this era was the variety of rap that was out there. You could have your commercial, poppy rap like MC Hammer and Coolio, your hardcore rap like Wu-Tang, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Spice 1, Tupac and Biggie or your backpacker Hip-hop, like Redman, Das Efx, ATCQ, Souls of Mischief, Kool Keith and MF DOOM.

Now, with few exceptions, its pretty much carbon copy garbage.

  • Damn red is so dope, he is a fucking rhyming machine.

  • Lyrical Monster!!

  • the real HH!!!!!

Shout outs to Redman !

  • @Chris78631 all-time great hip-hop: 80s, 90s, pandora radio, and underground

  • fuck yeah!!!! 1994 when rap and r&b took over and no genres come even close to us

  • God bless all these young new kids listening to all the classic 90's material like this Redman gem right here! Gives me a smile when I read it.

I am 31 years old, Back in 94 internet was not really rollin' yet, I had my first cell phone (Motorola startec) and offcourse social media did not exist. I got this record when it came out on 12" vinyl back then. MP3's didn't exist! And people actually went out to buy records and share with their friends face to face, ear to ear.

  • @anatolianINVASION technically mp3s has been around since 1993 and got real huge when napster came along

  • @anatolianINVASION shit those must of been the days!

  • @anatolianINVASION I remember the days.....when Hip Hop sounded this raw practically everyday.

  • @anatolianINVASION aye men to that mate

  • @anatolianINVASION word man. Just wish i was alive back then to live those days man

  • I tell some of my friends from my generation since i'm 16, that Redman is a fucking legend dude is up there ! I love this song and the remix is ill too, fucking classic shit !

  • @ RKG5A5...it wouldn't let my reply to your comment but no eazy e was the godfather of g-funk...he was the one that started nwa and paid for everything..without eazy e there would of been no nwa...without dre it just wouldn't of been as good...and cube and ren wrote some but not all of eazy's shit..I also give it to eazy because he was a real G unlike that studio gansta dre..I like dre's shit but dre day was only eazy's pay day..and thats real

  • Redman from that dirty jersey is no joke, Shout outs to the bronx and brooklyn

  • One of red's best..the older the better imo

  • @420goossens damn right!!

  • This is my favorite Redman song and its off my favorite Redman album

  • Even though Muddy Waters is my favorite Red album, i kinda wish he didnt drop the P Funk vibe he had in Whut and Darkside

  • top five emcee red man, nas, jeru, q tip and slick rick

  • the funkadelic!!!

  • yo his afro is so sick

  • Are there any more imitators in the house?? There are no

Bust like NBA Jams, and you can have Chicago

Catch the cargo, funky like a bag of Bravos

Way back, with a pump 92 K-T-U in car loads

  • The Dare IZ A Darkside disc was classic,Red took it to places I haven't heard a Mc take it to this day.Very dark but still dope.

  • Every single thing about this album is excellent. Every song, every video. Even the skits are great. Few rappers lack the ability to make entertaining songs over great beats. They'll have the great beats, but lack the lyrics (Rick Ross), or have the lyrics but lack the beats (Eminem). Red came with it for 3 albums straight. Even Doc's the Name has some good stuff on it.

  • @JusBeCuzz You sure bout that? Or are you jus jokin?

  • HUAH!!! Got a little Redman in town...

  • the best r.i.p ever heard didnt talk about howmuch the person miss rip it in hiss namew true shit

  • wtf i didnt know he made a video 4 dis song good lookin

  • reds good for the brain, you gotta listen to it over and over to really, REALLY get it, first you hear the beat then flow, then you start to break down the lyrics which are crazy as fuck, one of the goats fa sho

  • Comment removed

  • they dont flow like this anymore! soke it up yall cuz you wont hear shit like this these days.

  • Track is so nice and everything those ppl can do is talk about the Illuminati...srsly who the fuck cares?

Listen to this, leave a nice comment or atleast critics and talk the talk on some conspiracy-theories-chat

  • WORD!

  • now this is a CLASSIC!!!!!!!

  • I have Dare Iz A Darkside. This is one of Redman's landmark albums. The songs are all funked out making this album completely dope by Redman and from Erick Sermon's beats.

  • Itll never be like this again, of course...all things pass...

But Hip Hop is far from dead, you cant kill a culture. Its just, hidden...

  • Lemme ask you this, do you think that the Illuminati has something to do w/ the way Hip Hop sounds today? I wouldn't call it a far fetched assumption when u hear things Jay Z says in his music. "Middle finger to the Lord" & "Jesus can't save u, Life begins when the church ends". And the fact that young buck had a song that didn't make 1 of his albums called "terrorist police" that spoke on law enforcement being shady. Everything is so materialistic in music now that that's all that they allow.

  • Nah, they have a lot to do with everything else in our world but something like music, you cant create feelings or movements, no matter how connected you are. That just has to come from passion and love.

Did "they" kill Hip-Hop however? They played a big part in it but not executively, I'm mixed and can tell you from experience that white people arent that rhythm-saavy when it comes o urban music so no, they didnt know what they were doing but yes, they did pimp the music out to the industry.

  • Yeah, I agree wit u there.

  • American Pop Culture is a boomerang....what goes around comes around again.

  • I miss this Redman. Nowadays he's gone sloppy. And that ahah's in the songs are irritating after hearing them thousand times. Maybe he should make an old skool album with Busta. Could be nice.

  • I always heard on the streets of NJ he was talking bout Craig Mack !

  • where the fuck did Craig Mack go anyway ? Redman is the ShIzNiZit

  • Rap FaNkAdElIk !! pece respekt from Macedonia

  • is there a sample of dr dre behind?

  • No the sample is from the same song Dr Dre sampled - Leon Haywoods Wanna Do Something Freaky to You.

  • he is talking about king just

  • what happened to king just

  • "Bust like NBA JAMS and you can have Chicago" (with no Jordan) lol classic mid 90's shit...

  • Reggie Noble in his prime.

  • Otis this is where Dre and Snoop got their "funky west" bs from. True mc's just show themselves. Redman is one of the illest ever

  • @byron84

No they get it from Above The Law fuck is you talkin about? and why you sayin "bs"? FOH with that regional shit chump.

  • @byron84 haha man thats a shitty piece of info... good job everybody.

  • @byron84

wtf are you talkin about..."The Chronic" came out the same year as "The Whuut"...and this came out a year after "Doggystyle"...so if anything, he was influenced by the G-Funk sound they made hot...b/c the Whuut had a more east coast vibe than this one does...with the organs and what not...you trippin

  • @RKG5A5 u lie doggystyle came out in 93 do some research

  • @Darkness07103

yeah and this came out in 94...do some reading

  • @RKG5A5 eazy e was the godfather of that sound

  • @420goossens u right, but Red 2!)

  • @420goossens

no actually Dre was the father of the G-Funk era...i mean he was the one that produced all of NWA's shit...him and Yella, and you niggas give Eazy way too much credit, Cube and Ren wrote all of his shit while he was in NWA

  • @byron84 what the fuck are you talking about, snoop and dre are pioneers in g-funk, listen to the chronic album before you talk about shit you don't even know about

  • @LANKENBOI95 dude redman was laying down funk with epmd while dr dre was wearing lipstick , bro! , lmao dr dre couldn't even take on eazy e let alone red, pussy!

  • @snoopdoggftsquirell no he wasn't, dre had already dropped 3 albums with NWA Before redman even came out and dre had done his first G-funk song in 91, redman didn't come out till the next year, i'm just sayin get the timeline in order before you start stating false information and yea epmd were sampling funk music, but it had barley any similarities compared to that wetcoast G-Funk sound

  • @LANKENBOI95 The Funk that Redman is known for comes from his producer who is known professionally as the E in EPMD and the leader of the Def Squad, "Erick Sermon". The difference is Erick used the funk sound but didn't entirely focus on it like Dre did. Both deserve their respect no matter which you prefer over the other. So I agree with you basically.

  • @LANKENBOI95 dat fool dre stole g funk from cold 187um but i still fucks wid dre he perfected the sub genre i suppose

  • @CrunkKing232 dre first used "g funk" on "gangsta gangsta" from str8 outta compton - he just didnt know he discovered it at that time. I hate to give Dre credit because hes a dick in real life but creit where its due

  • @sourdeeznuts Yeah he can be a dick dats why he got so much hate from death row including snoop but then they became cool again in like 98/99

  • @byron84 Dre said his "g-funk" was inspired by the early cypress sound.

  • @byron84 you are absolutely right

  • i said the same thing but my man at work said when he said whos the wack nigga wit the frown talking about craig mack when he said something about teck directed to nas i could be wrong going by what my man sais but it makes sence

  • wow when much more music played real music

  • It's Newark, NewJERRRRZ!!!

  • no, they eat your pussy there

  • 94' circa

  • Im not too sure about the Korean part. Redman is black. From the bricks of Newark NJ, and family comes from Alabama. I think this korean rumor came from that line he fliped on Blow your mind.

  • LOOOOOOL
