Thief 1 Cutscene 3

man, whenever i play this the cutscenes don't work! i'm on a windows 7, does that make a difference?

@Jebact Yeah I had the same problem when I played it on XP. I think it has something to do with the cut scenes' file format. There are workarounds, but I forget exactly what to do. Another alternative is just run the cut scenes off the disks in between mission...not really ideal I know.

i love these cutscenes... the stories in thief are fuckin awesome and garreett is the man "i dont appreciate the hammerities abducting him" and hes gonna go through these haunted mines n shit, if tht was me id be like have a nice life cutty! i know thiefs "haunted" levels are the worst fuckin levels in any video game for makin me shit myself and although i love the thief games these levels do test me, i hate bein scared.

Download darkloader and run it as an admin. The cutscenes work at least on my Vista laptop with this method. No problems with the game either running at 1400x900+upgraded models and textures.

hi.....sorry to bother...i was wondering when you wrote that darkloader upgrades models and textures.... that means it can make the graphics be like thief deadly sadows??? sorry for my bad english

If you're asking if DarkLoader upgrades the graphics, not that I know of. It's a launcher. However it will allow you to run mods to the game, allowing you to upgrade graphics and textures if you can find the mods.

same here, don't understand the rift between Microsoft and Ligos. Ligos makes the codec that runs the movies, but maybe microsoft think it is too easily hacked. the fools!

Thief could be improved, made portable to other OS's, MOD's could be made and a lot more.

I wish that in Deadly Shadows they used these cut scenes instead of the live motion. I really grew to really love the scenes. But they didn't. Oh well. It gives it a cool and more interesting feel.

Yeh I miss these type of cutscenes.

But i think Eidos wanted more 'modern' cinematics, so they used live motion.

Nevermind, the cutscenes in Deadly Shadows are outstanding, and are still very thief-like ^_^

Normal isn't really an easier version of the other levels, it's just shorter and trimmed down while giving you a little more freedom with who you kill.

Also, you can get the hammerites to fight with the zombies, makes things much easier. Just get them to meet!
