Actually, if you'll look at the people taking the goalpost down, that is the ground crew. I'm sure they're doing it specifically to prevent the crowd from pulling it down. There was an ugly incident several years previously after Tech beat A&M where the fans pulled down one of the goalposts and carried it out of the stadium through the stands on the visitor side of the stadium.

@monkeyboy1971 - Well considering we've won the Big 12 South, or at least tied for 1st twice (Spike Dykes last year & in '08), we already have worked our way up to the top of the Big 12 South before. Again...your lack of knowledge keeps making you look retarded (other than your screen name). We were on probation one year..and OU won because of the tiebreaker rule in '08..hence, we've never played in the conference championship.

Question is would Mike Leach still have his coaching job had this play not have happened? The bar was set so much higher with a chance to actually play for the national championship, only to be embarrassed by Oklahoma the following week and things were mostly downhill the season after. There must have been an atmosphere of pressure caused by those expectations that adversely impacted the locker room.

That was so awesome... I still remember actually tearing up when I thought Blake Gideon had that interception and then looking up to see Crab run in. I sat on the 50 yard line and 2 things happened: 1. I lost my voice for about three days and 2. My ears ringing for about 45 mins. I still get chills... Wreck 'Em Tech.

still makes me smile. we actually pulled it off. i remember the texas fans (and close ut alum friends) with a small smile on their face because were not only dumbfounded by what just happened, they knew they got beat....and witnessed one of the greatest college football games ever. so glad i was there.

At first I was pissed off as a fellow Niner. But you have to admit. He's the best thing that has come our way in a while. Well on the offensive side our only good playmaker has been Gore, but with that crappy O Line I know he aint got too many years left. RB's are done these days by their 9th-12th season. It's really sad we only depend on Gore to make the plays. I think having MC will keep defenses on their toes and let Gore make more plays.
