If u looked closer, he put the half bitten piece of meat into his own bowl. U can see the remaining meat chunk left with his rice when he was taking the silkworms. He did touch something in the meat pot with his chopsticks without taking it though.

wow im curious..he shows that vietnam prefer long grain rice...which i love alot..i usually eat jasmine rice imported from thailand... but every time i eat at a vietnam cafe's in Australia...i usually order that rice with meatloaf..egg and pork chop...and its always served with short or broken rice... I always thought that short rice was 'traditional' for Viet dishes, but after watching this...am i really eating viet cusine?..well its still very yummy..and i love all types of rice..mmm rice...

@chunkatty hi there, generally Vietnamese people do prefer long grain rice when eaten with many dishes, as shown in the video.. it is the common way to eat meals within families. What you are talking about, is Com Tam: broken rice served with the grilled pork chop, Cha (pork meat loaf) and fried egg. Com Tam is a popular dish and i only made with broken rice. It is not the traditional rice for Vietnamese. Next time you go to a Vietnamese cafe, try order something new and see for yourself :)

@chunkatty there aren't that many rice dishes like com tam in vietnamese cuisine, as rice is usually eaten with another dish. you should try the noodle soups like Bun Bo Hue, which is spicy beef soup with thick rice noodle, or Banh Canh Cua, which is thick clear rice noodle soup with crab. Availability depends where you live really

i think people are very disrespectful to talk down peoples cultures. i am an iraqi, but absolutely LOVE asian food. i love eating new things, and would try almost anything, all those foods andrew ate looked great! snails, silkworms, eel, they looked good! i think people need to understand tolerance for peoples cultures and customs. people might think andrew is dumb, but he's very well travelled and wise from all the things he's seen and eaten, more then you disrespectful people will ever be.

For the silkworm, it's actually lime leaves, not lemon leaves. In Vietnamese, the words "lime" and "lemon" are pronounced the same way "Chanh" and we only have lime, not lemon!
