It's not the suit.. It's the swimmer. Phelps has been beaten many times. He won 8 golds in Beijing but he is closely chased from Ryan Lochte and many other swimmers. We'll see next year with out the suits... I don't think there will be a difference.

@ps2monster i'll say this...you have a point friend,.. but i did some research.. go and watch Biederman in the mens 200m free final Beijing.. they were both wearing the speedo suit.. Phelps wins gold but also beats beiderman by 10 ft.. Flash Forward.. one year later at the Rome Worlds, Biederman wins the 200m in world record time beating Phelps and not by much, BUT phelps was wearing his old speedo and Biederman was wearing the new Arena Xglide.. it's PHYSICALLY impossible to improve that fast:)

3 seconds difference on his 200 free and over a second slower on his 100fly...That's crazy. Where's the consistency. He must have either raced sick or destroyed his lungs smoking weed. lol

This meet was after a 6 month break and at the start of the season. If you knew anything about swimming, you would know that your supposed to peak at the big meets. This was just a small meet. He was not shaved, tapered or at his best.
