The classes portion was a disappointment with planetside 2, but resources, that has the highest probability of ruining the game. I still hold hope, but that is falling rapidly. Please don't ruin it!
Tbh the class system will ruin the game. Why do you guys always try and add these things. Planetside was successful in the beginning because it was balanced. It was how you played as a person and not the upgrades you had or didn't have. The only thing you feared was high rank players with OS. Your shaming the Planetside title with this idea.
Planetside really was a great game. It's unfortunate to see a guy from the SWG team running this show for Planetside 2. It's bound to get all screwed up. I'll probably give it a try but my hopes are not high for it. How does this guy even have a job after the SWG failures?

Anybody who was worth a shit had medical, engineering, HA/Decimator, etc. Certifications were there to make people more dependent on others and to not allow one player to be a one man army. Of course it was all fucked up by Brewko and his idiot staff by introducing BR40. They should have left it at BR20. SOE is a stupid fucking company that does not listen to its experienced player base.
@super06141996 BFR's ruined the game in 2004. It should have been built like a regular vehicle like I told them in the forums a 100 times to do. Instead they went with Voltron with hit boxes. A vehicle weak to infantry is kinds stupid when the BFR could out run the infantry or just fly away. Inevitable nerfs soon followed. The BFR also indirectly ruined the game further by having the decimator nerfed for its second time increasing the MAX population.

"Teh you will stand back and avoid deaths so that you can craft your gun and save money and save money so you can get a bigger gun so you can stay alive longer and save money and maybe you can stand in the middle of nowhere so you can control more pointless dirt and save money to stay alive longer and build buildings so you can craft gunz in that building and.. and.. and... resources and certs!!!!"
I am a bit worried that the graphics and art are already too outdated. Sure, the first one was nothing advanced, but then again, "things have changed", in 2003 BF1942 was meh, CS was super meh and COD1 was meh so PS1 looked fine in comparison. But now the big FPS competitors are seriously advanced. This (PS2) does not look competitive, whatsoever, in comparison to MW3, BF3, C2 etc etc. It should have come out 2 or 3 years ago when they 'noticed the engine'. + the distraction from combat sucks.

@InB4Desu Being able to customize your own loadout lead to cookie cutter builds and everyone using the same loadout because it was the most conventional and versatile. With classes you have to choose certain attributes you like of a class while sacrificing others, it also allows for a lot of variety and maybe even some skills/ unique mechanics
classes are fucked, resources sound like a real currency economy, and real time certs sound like they won't be so conducive to the perpetual functioning of the game environment i.e. get on start training new skill, get back on a few days later when it's finished, train another, get back off. fucked.
PlanetSide was honestly the best FPS I ever played, and I'm an RPG fan. Was never able to get into FPS games until I played PS. I looooooved sniping in that game. I hope this game can live up to or even surpass the original gameplay of PlanetSide.
I'm hoping I'll be at my Permanent Duty Station by the time this comes out so I can get a comp worth playing it on. Very excited about this. Can't wait, but do it right SOE. Don't fuck it up like you did PS 1.

Planetside originally had 1 planet with multiple continents. Years ago they decided to change this and make each continent its own planet for reasons that are still baffling to me. It looks like they're returning to the original concept in Planetside2: 1 planet with multiple continents.

@slammerf16 It's how the game is meant to be, in the lore. TR = massive empire. NC = Spec ops, smell numbers, revolutionaries. And VS is kind of like the TR in that it's a strict empire, but it has lower numbers like the NC, but it also has massively advanced technology. VR, according to lore, is supposed to have a lot more soldiers than the other empires.

The TR are pathetic hackers and they probably will be in the sequel to come because of the favoritism shown by the main developer again... Its interesting to see an empire being plastered all over a game like Planetside. Especially considering they're track record of hacking, exploitation, & having a reputation in the game for having the most account bans on one empire.

@slammerf16 It's how the game is meant to be, in the lore. TR = massive empire. NC = Spec ops, smell numbers, revolutionaries. And VS is kind of like the TR in that it's a strict empire, but it has lower numbers like the NC, but it also has massively advanced technology. VR, according to lore, is supposed to have a lot more soldiers than the other empires.
