  • Apparently, the Guardian newspaper rinted charity director salarys - Save the Children Mike Aaronson £85,000 a year plus up from £82,002 the previous year

Amount in £s spent on chief exec's pay for every £1,000 of income = 0.77. Yes, that's nearly 1% of the entire money colelcted which should be going to help children.

This is why I do not give to charity. If you want to help people go directly there and give your time

  • SIMPLY GREAT....!!!!!

THANKS DEAR LORD FOR TO GIVE US TO MICHAEL JACKSON... <3<3<3<3

  • THAT WAS PURE FUNK!!!!!!!! CLASSIC J5!

  • Jermaine Jackson is a BEAST on the Bass... It really shows how much of a virtuoso he was musically as such a young age as well. Of course Michael is incredible as well!

  • this is what i call true talent.

  • this version of I Wanna Be Where You Are is amazing

the J5 are raw, man.. Michael is on fire

  • Nobody was dancin like Michael Jackson at that time, save maybe, James Brown. But even Mike was higher octane (if that was possible). Man o man. To think, a whole wide world of folk thought MJ got started around Off The Wall and Thriller. (Hee-Hee-Hee!) MJ!

  • .....I LOVE U MIKE...GOD BLESS U ALWAYS....GOD BLESS MJ FANS AROUND THE WORLD ''WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF LOVE, HAPINESS ,AND GOOD LUCK FOREVER.....''

  • At 7:10 Marlon and Michael was getting into it! They was Soul Stepping! HA,HA! And Michael with his voice changing sounded like he was doing Soul Rock with his James Brown voice! Man, the J5 did they thing, at this event! DAM!!!!

  • LOL check out the chick at 0:27. She's lookin at Don like "Come on man, talking too much... this is one long ass intro,.. just bring out J5!"...heh

  • Yeah Nina513, that is because you have to have talent and not gimmick. Of course you already know this. Cool.

  • Lol i have this on my phone :)

Wow Michael you are the most amazing handsome goodlooking and Omg there iznt another word i can describe you cause you are just that good :)

  • BLACK IS beauifull BABY and NO CRACKERS

  • I♡J5!

If Michael's voice was going through the change than he really SHOULD'NT HAVE been singing. Hello! Damaging precious vocal chords here! This probably why his adult singing voice settled where it did, due to improper care. I love J5 and Michael-r.i.p. MJ really should've been chili'n the vocal chords SERIOUSLY for however long it took his vocals to change and settle. I wasn't even born yet in 1972 but even i know this, why didn't his vocal coach or manager or somebody, duh-dang!

  • @dtrue07 It isn't simple not to sing when your name is Michael Jackson.. everybody wants to hear you, adores you, ... People wouldn't appreciate it when he would stop singing for a while... but you are right, it wasn't good for his voice but he turned out fantastic, isn't it? :) x <333 michael and his brothers

  • Respond to this video...magagave your so RIGHT if it wasn't for the jackson 5 these groups of today wouldn't be here the jackson 5

didn't just open the door thay built it then open the door and ran through it LOL

  • This Is Talent. Aint "None" Of These Artist Today Touching The Cats From Back In The Day.

I Wont Even Mention Any Of These Artist From Today Because They Don't Deserve To Be Mentioned In Comparison... Yes Their Talented Today But Nothing Like These Bruthas...

  • Handsome, talented brothers there in a class all there own. What fun it must have been to be there!!!

I want afros back in style (and bell bottoms)

  • Jermaine Jackson is a bass GOD!

  • @fortybreath I'm glad that many people have noticed it!

  • Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 were a blessing from God. It's so important to remember why Michael and his brothers were extraordinary-it's because they were created in the image of God. The skin color or the softness of the voice has no significance. We must learn acceptance of each other.A soft voice is no better than a deep voice. Light skin is no better than dark skin. God gave Michael and his brothers overflowing brilliance for the entire world to celebrate.

    Let's celebrate mankind!

  • meidei meidei The Jackson 5

  • Michael's smile just makes me feel so good.

  • amazing !

  • THis is the real Michael and the J5 in theri heyday. Love the hoarse voice.

Dancin Machine is on the horizon.

  • Man u so right. Everytime I hear it im like "Thats sick" lol.

  • I love Michael Jackson......I loved him before he died

  • @321babyfat should always love him

  • We could see that MJ was well beyond his years in talent and showman ship! It's no wonder he went on to become the GREATEST and most successful star in history!

  • I've been searching but cannot find where to purchase a video of the Save the Children conert performances. Does anyone know?

  • It's out of print.

  • wow I remember seeing this in the movies when I was a child.

  • Comment removed

  • absolutely incredible. his voice was changing and he still manages to sound perfect in every way.

  • he is 14 in this so he sounds different

  • 'I Wanna Be Where You Are' has got to be one the best songs from the Jackson 5 Motown hits.

  • xo-I do not think it has to deal with so much of MJ voice changing. I think he was a little hoarse from performing 2-3 shows a day 7 days a week at places that didn' have the best sound equipment so these kids had to really project their voices. This is a testimony to their will power, strength and of course talent. If you listen he is really projecing his voice at this performance. Plus they got little rest and went o school.

    They sound great anyhow!!!

  • I love this video. However put it on youtube I must say you are the greatest!!!!!!!!

Mick is still number 1 with me. I will always love and miss him until it's time for me to see Jesus up in glory.

I also would like to say thank you Michael for being Michael Jackson the greatest of all time.

  • HIS VOICE WAS CHANGING......1973. HE WAS 15 ....AT THEIR mOTOWN PEAK....

  • did i say 14? i meant 15, sorry i didnt read the description

  • yeah y'all do need to check it out because it's preety good i love part 1,4,12&13...

  • People, if you like this performance, check out their performance a year earlier in the concert Going Back To Indiana with Bill Cosby hosting its a 13 part series on YouTube! Best boy band of all time!

  • Look at that spin at 6:06. You just knew was a sign of things to come.God Bless Michael FOREVER!

  • @nodroc77

thats like a amazing backwards spin!

  • I love these original casts! Thank you for uploading!

  • Yo ole Boy Killde it

i had no idea he was that bad as a kid.

  • The J5's performance of "I Wanna Be Where You Are" was in-cred-i-ble! Definitely one of the best they ever did. The singing, choreography and, yeah even their clothes were sewn tight (love the pants, M. J.). The split-screen effect was a cool move. The people were definitely getting their groove on at the Expo... especially the foxy ladies!

No wonder when it comes to "boy-bands", the J5 are the kings of the game. .

    R. I. P., Michael... from Brooklyn, New York.

  • this footage makes my eyes swell up. Michael fascinated the world from the age of 10 to 50, never loosing his magical touch. The Jackson 5 were pure magic. My heart goes out to THE FIRST FAMILY OF POP ROCK AND SOUL! check out the precision of the J5 and Randy on the bongos. Michael RIP

  • Look how the outfits looked back in the days .... I Love Micheal Jackson.... I wish I could have been his wife

  • Look at them move together . That whole family is talented . God blessed them with talent most people don't have .

  • I want everyone to notice how they were singing AND dancing at the same time...RARE IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF MUSIC!

Long live the J5's music and Mike's legacy!

    RIP!

  • AMEN ! TELL IT . TELL IT !

  • @Nina513 NINA !! PREACH !! I am SO tired of all these lip synching mofo's who dont even have an original dance style...Don Cornelius said it right.. the MIGHTY... MIGHTY Jackson 5 !! U can take New Edition...B5. Usher.. Omarion.. Chris Brown.. Justin Timberlake...and all the rest.. multiply them by 100 and you won't have HALF of what these guys did in a short span of 7 years...

  • @megavega4

YOU PREACH!!! So true!!! This was TRUE TALENT and SHOWMANSHIP!!!! Back when you couldn't fake it.

  • @megavega4 You are so right...They were true entertainers...NUFF SAID!

  • ARTIST DONT DIE,THEY'RE IMMORTALIZED(THROUGH THIER MASTERPIECES) COME VIBE; KiN CAMELL

  • Whose book? I gotta get it!

  • without a doubt u gotta give it to mike, but i gotta show luv to young randy goin off on his congas when mike was freestylin next to him!

  • can you please tell me where you found this clip as well as others, if you have any?

  • This is from the documentary/concert film SAVE THE CHILDREN that featured Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Ojays and others. It was Motown's version of WATTSTAX and its been out of print for years. It was directed by Stan Lathan (Sanna's Father)

  • Where can i find this on DVD?

You can buy the record on Ebay.

  • listen 2 them girls scream! they wild...bt i love this and 'specially how mike worked his transitioning voice near the end...

  • marlon has a fat ass... love j5.. michael is soooooo fine

  • The bass line is sick on I wanna be where you are. Is that Tito?

  • It's Jermaine on bass.

  • I just got chills when I saw this video, because you can tell that the audience does not know quite who to expect and yet when Mr. Cornelius starts the introduction of the Mighty Jacksons, the crowd goes wild.

  • boy !! now these were real bands

  • lol @ 5:41

  • whats going on at 3:20? are they jus messin around with him? and why does jackie stand right behind michael? if you noe please reply =] thx.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOO JACKONS 5!!!!!! #1 4eva!!!!!!!!

  • part of the routine breakdown of ABC

  • mikes voice is changing

  • that is EXTREMELY impressive!!!! The whole family was a gift from God!!!!

  • Who is the man who spoke at the beginning? Thx

  • Don Cornelius. Host of Soul Train.

  • Every R&B singer today has taken something from this group!!

  • I been looking for this SAVE THE CHILDREN concert film from 1972. Some of the greatest talent was assembled including the mighty J5. Can't find it anywhere and so thank you for this clip. Saw another segment with Nancy Wilson, so I know it's got to be out there somewhere. I'll keep looking.

  • There are you tubes with Marvin and the OJays on here somewhere..

  • the temptations where there too

  • Michael Jackson is like magic! I wish I could see him perform live just once in my lifetime.

  • Listen to Jermaine's singing - so good and so soulful

  • His energy is amazing!

  • love the vocal choices Michael makes to accommodate his changing voice on "Wanna Be Where You Are"...a seasoned pro indeed.

  • hows jermaine did that

i cant even play bass and sing

    hes amazing

    he did play bass+ dancing+singing

    wow

    if im on that stage

papa jo will kill me like a chicken

  • thanks for posting the hollywood plalace performance

  • he sang much better wen he was younger his voice was more soulful

  • I went to see this concert back in 1972 and I was so lucky that my uncle had taken pictures from this show, thanks for posting.

  • Cool!!

  • Oh I love this preformance! Michael's voice was changing and all, but this got me bouncin' off my seat!

  • that bass line is WICKED!!!!!! go jackson 5

  • GOOD SHIT !

  • love this songgggg

  • i cant belive the before this mike was crying because he had to go on i plane the he changed his image and did grate Hes awsome!

  • yeah and before he went on his father grabbed him told him to dry his tears and be a man

its a shame hes treated more like an object than a person

  • uhhh... that was a made for tv movie guys. I doubt it really happened and if so what are the chances it was this show.

  • Actually it wasn't nmade for TV it was released in the movie theaters, just like Wattstax. I first saw it the year it came out they should release the whiole performance DVD wll the performances were amazing but this one was definitely REAL.

  • just love michael he is so fine here and u can tell that he just feeds of the crowd like when the crowds screamin and clappin he just goes nuts back then he was just a BIG bottle of energy

  • Thanks for letting me know

  • Can someone tell me what song they messed up on, it all sounded good to me and I just cant catch anything wrong except a note or two extra after abc ended

  • You're right...no mess up. Jermaine just hit a couple extra notes. That audience was there for the magic. That's what they got, pure Jackson 5 magic!

  • The song after abc way to long i think its called (i forget) it sounded just like the track and he really pulled it toghether in that song

  • That song's called 'I wanna be where you are' and it was actually my fave performance of this show.

  • Me to

  • I always did wonder why jackie went behind michael while they were performing abc, but michael sure did keep it professional by continuing to sing!

  • Awesome live performance! That was the magic of the J5. The fact that they were so young yet they performed like 50 year veterans. And I love the fact that they were not using background soundtracks or equalizers like most of the so called talent does today.

  • If Im not mistaken, this is the one from "Jacksons an american dream" where Michael was afraid the plane would crash and he was crying before the next performance. Thats why his voice sound that way. Joe told him personally "No time for tears Michael, show them who you are; you are Michael Jackson" Then it faded into the song I wanna be where you are. His voice didnt even start changing till December 1972 (J5 show) and it still was barely noticable.

  • aww is this really the one? it must have been so terrible for mike to be so upset and crying one second and then forced to go onstage and pretend like everything is ok.

  • His voice started changing when he was recording the Maybe Tomorrow Album. I'm the only one that noticed that, the critics didn't even notice it.

  • That's a good observation. I noticed that Michael's voice started changing in the "Lookin Through The Windows" album as well. Actually, I'm sure everybody noticed that lol.

  • AROUND 1971....

  • yea i think your right =]

  • This video is great... Michael is 14, when most boys' voices are a mess, but his was so strong and soulful, at times he reminded me of James Brown... but I love live performances, you can really hear the inflection and what a good voice he really has ... and once again his humanitarianism.. this was a fundraiser event

  • Michael had just turned 14 too = Voice changing

  • quelle performance! a voir, revoir, et re re voir!!! XD

et bravo pour les costumes ... simplement magnifiques!!

  • i got a little excited while i was typing....excuse the typos!

  • the bass endings on each song, like the last noes and the end of the songs are not right....wow...lol, but still i good performance. i can truly tell that this was very live and real. Micheal's voice was tired. i bet his daddy had a belt waiting after this performance. i luv them though.... great group!

  • No disrespect but as far as the bass playing goes you've gotta remember Jermaine was around 17 years old at the time singing co-leads & backrounds, dancing, and playing. They had the hottest 4 piece rhythm section. no tape, no tracks, no dancers completly "LIVE"! No act today even comes close to the J5

  • i am just a musician, so when i heard that, i was just shocked because i am not used to seeing them mess up live. but it's all good. no disrespect taking. that just shocked me a bit...lol cuz i was grooving so hard and when i heard that, it threw me off...lol

  • i agree! but i know their daddy strives for perfection, so i know he accepts no excuses...lol! i can tell it's totally LIVE, so i can respect that for sure. and i agree, no group today could pull that off so well, because i don't think anyone noticed that.

  • I saw the J5 live. In fact, I was at this very show at Black Expo in Chicago.

Jermaine was an incredible bass player. There was no track playing in the background; he was singing and playing and moving. The few wrong notes can easily be forgiven. Especially when you consider the complexity of some of these basslines. No teen artist today can even come close to approaching Jermaine's talent, or the J5's talent in general.

  • I agree,Tito and Jermaine, Bootsy and Phelps Collins and Ernie and Marvin Isley as well.

  • This is one of the many great performances of the J5 and LIVE. Another Masterpiece J5!!! Comparing that Justin Timberlake to the Jackson Five is like comparing a Chevy Chevette to a Chevy Corvette; Justin Timberlake just couldn't come close and as I always say no one will ever top the J5 in the past, present or future.

  • I hated even typing his name "JT" that robotic little prick couldn't sing, dance and perform with such GRACE as my boys: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Mike, Johnny Jackson on the drums, Ronny Rancifer on the keyboards and Randy on the Congos and I am a Jackson as well!!!

  • And they talk about boybands... This was a real boyband-real singers and entertainers.

  • THank you so much for posting this

  • The mighty mighty Jackson 5...Tito strumming the guitar, Jermaine hitting the funky bass notes, Jackie n Marlon haromizing and hitting every dance step with perfection and Michael with the incredible lead...ALL BOY BANDS MUST BOW!!!!!

  • i agree with everything you just said. these guys just made you feel good back then...the energy inside a concert hall featuring the jackson 5 was pure magic!

  • this is probably the most i've ever seen a polished act..like they had their a-game on point in every performance

  • where in the HELL can I get this DVD??? I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR SAVE THE CHILDREN CONCERT FOREVER. Boy, Motown and Joe Jackson ran these boys to the ground, singing the same songs for years-its clear Michael's voice is changing; however they were some bad &^*((. These new jacks who all they do is whine and whine need to take notice on how performers really PERFORM. I think the only one that comes close to this is Justin Timberlake but his cockiness could be boring at times.

    MICHAEL IS KING

  • Please, don't ever mention JT in the same sentence with the Jacksons again. Lol

  • LOL, ya damn right.

  • I was at this show at Chicago's Black Expo 1972. The Jackson 5 had real talent. They were a wonder of the world.

  • You are so lucky. I wish I was alive back then to ahve experienced that. I love the Jackson 5, what a talented group. This is a great performance also! 5 stars all the way!

  • wish i was alive then...

my mom says she ws in luv w/ him wen she ws my age

    darn bein born in 1992

  • im sayin

  • Having lived thru the heydays of the J5 it is really nice to revisit this historic and classical footage of the J5 doing their thang.

  • The golden years. Thanks for posting this Jackson 5 showcase.

  • the jackson 5 ROCK! i luv this kind of footage

  • mike struggled at da begginning and along da way he got comfortable and da performance waz fy!!!!!!!

  • THANKS FOR THIS VID

  • nice video, could you share it?

  • he still did a good job though his voice was getting better

  • Man that was great fantastic tis is why they are my favorite group of all time seriously

  • his voice was changing, you can hear he´s having alot of trouble singing in the same key as he did when he was a kid.
