@SeisanStnc Well they have prevented many attempts. You don't know about it because they get arrested, and you never hear their name. People try to sneak knives on the plane all the time.

These full body scanners are a waste though. Someone who really knows how these work can sneak a gun through them. An under cover agent did an experiment how many times he can sneak through with a gun. He was successful every time because there are some weak areas on the machines.

If someone wanted to blow us all up, they would. Why would they wait to board a plan when they could walk through a door and self-detonate? All this security crap is completely useless and I feel LESS safe. An overwhelming majority are against these pat downs and virtual strip searches. Keeping me safe does not equal touching or being anywhere near my breast or vagina. That is a line that I do not want crossed. I will be REFUSING to fly. To the hell w/ TSA policy!

Damage is damage...whether it's 60 people or 100 ppl. Either way, I along with most other people, would rather not be treated, in the worst way, like an assumed federal criminal to sacrifice this type of privacy for this type of security. I would rather not see kids screaming at TSA agents to stop patting their bottoms and touching them for the sake of this type of crappy security. I'll pass flying in America if at all possible.

Blow up a 747 and you kill everyone on board at the very least and that's like 500 people compared to your 60 people estimate for blowing up a bomb vest in a crowd an estimate that is probably way too generous. If that disabled plane crashes into a densely populated area the casualties can jump up to over 1000.

Full body scanners allow you to avoid the pat down iirc

Yes...that's why TSA agents pat down little kids and go digging for 747;s in granny's diaper if she can't go through a scanner due to physical limitations or pat around my breast if I refuse to be scanned because of pregnancy or my breast milk.
