Less is more, but sometimes more is kinda fun tho....The bashers say Johnny is over rated. I've seen him live a few times and have never left one of his shows wanting for more. In the end, it's all about taste, and everyone has a different take on what they like. Don't mean one is better than the other, or one is right and the other wrong. Fact is Johnny was on this stage and we're in here talking about it....I know I'd trade places with him any day to play and sing like him...

Not taking away from the fact he can sing and play like he sold his soul at the Crossroads, but defintely he is 'overplaying' his vocals cos he is he on stage with 2 living legends of modern music and feeling out of depth. In another 20 - 30 years he will get to the stage Buddy Guy and his contemporaries are at....its just exuberant youth. He will one day understand the beauty of subtlety. Its an artform MANY singers don't get.....

@aaa567ify He can play for sure...but he doesn't yet have the worldliness of say Buddy Guy or other contemporaneous vocalists. He is still finding his feet. And that involves 'faking it until you make it'. He is a great singer, but still is yet to be one of 'the greats'. That will come in time, and in the meantime no-one is begrudging him his good fortune, cos he's totally badass. ;)

I mean every musician plays differently and has their own voice. I don't judge on age when it comes to a musician being at their best. Show me a BB king solo that's technically impressive... lets all admit it: BB only knew 4 notes - but its ok cos he was TOTALLY BADASS at those 4 notes. Lang played about 128 notes, was he totally badass at those? maybe, maybe not. But the notes Woody played were on the money. Less is more my friend, less is more.

Ronnie Wood's solo lacked dynamics, emotion, melody, style, technical virtuosity...you name it.
