  • Such great Brittish television.

  • i love this show so very much.

  • Was it ever explained how Hyacinth was middle class yet her sisters were underclass?

I don't just mean on a financial scale, but attitude as well.

  • every married man needs to see this woman

  • BUCKET!!

  • Gotta feel sorry for Richard of all characters haha

  • cant believe this is 240p it looks nice

  • @Daveed2407 it's because it's older video so the compression isn't as bad

  • I used to whistle this theme song when I cleaned house... Yeah, I know...I'm insane.

  • love it. its one of the few shows that makes me laugh hover often i watch it.

  • Mrs Bucket is my Grandmother. Exactly like her.

  • @caillenisonmars i can relate

  • When I was a child, I spend lots of time with my grandparents when my parents went working. They loved this series and I as a child too. This brings back so many memories.

  • I love how Hyacinthe sounds when she spells "Bucket." Like she knows what ppl are going to say.

  • How the hell did I end up here?

  • I love this Show!

  • When I see that part with her lining up the stamp, I think of that POOR postman, and how he has to sneak up to the door to avoid her complaining about her letters being in the same line with the "commoners."

  • Do you think they show this show on BBC Bristol because they sow it at 8 PM ET on Gpb or Gps

  • I just LOVE this sitcom! As an American i've been watching this for years on PBS. Now i have it on DVD. My whole family {all ages} fell in love with Hyacinth from day one. She and her whole family are so funny. And don't we all have at least one member just like her family? I really love Hyacinth, she dresses very nice for a women of her age. And the hats and gloves are just perfect. BTW, this Rose is my favorite. For me she nailed the part!

  • Psssst! :D

  • @MISTERDIPLOMATIC It was filmed in Coventry, but no reference is ever made to its location on screen

  • "Oh no It's the bucket woman" says the vicar. Her(other) sister drives a mercedes you know.

  • The man who played Richard is so good ,I remeber him in the movie 'Excalibur.

  • Onslow is my idol!:D

  • @heijduh And your mother produced shit then you were born.

  • I love this series. I used to think Hyacinth's character was a gross exaggeration until a British-born guy at my work told me that when he was growing up in England every second woman on his block was JUST like Hyacinth Bucket. SCARY!

  • WHY don't funny and innocent shows like this exist anymore

  • Ahhh ... i remember when i was 7 and loved it <3

  • I always watched this every sunday on BBC, such a great show lol

  • Is it of a severity necessary to cancel my candlelight supper?

  • @frankbeauchamp LMAO! Love that line!

  • i love this show...i grow watching this and other British Comedy with my mom and aunt in Texas...i like this 'Rose' better then the latter. :)

  • i loooooove this show!!!!!

  • I never could get how Hyancith spelt her last name "B-u-c-k-e-t" and said it "Bouquet."

  • @silverviperninja That was the joke...she was too snobby to accept her name was bucket so she tried to make out it was bouquet.

  • @newkemall I knew that... I really do get it. Some people can be snobs.

  • @mcstro1 but they didn't lose the war. and america didn't come in till 1942. if they lost the war the germans would've won. read up on history ya noob.

  • @Sandban1 He's talking about the American Revolution.

  • @Swijntje666 But it's a revolution, not a war. If it was war it would've lasted longer than it did.

  • I am 15 and i grew up on this show. It still comes on in the winter time from 5-7 pm. Its funny show.

  • I used to catch this show every weeknight at 10:00 PM Central on PBS, but it's never on anymore... =/

  • Poor postman. Mrs Bucket, er, sorry, Bouquet is always waiting to pounce on the postman.

  • @borrisbirdlegs dont forget the milkman haha

  • i happened to find this great show when i was 18 it was played here in canada at 12:30 am. on YTV. i looked forward to getting home after the night shift, smoking a fat joint and laughing. aside from rowan atkinson this was the only britcom that i lol at. i like britcoms, they are amusing, but few make me lol

  • @hurmpfff I remember that. It wasn't on for long.

  • "Queen Mother's outside." Love it! It sounds exactly like something my dad would say xD

  • This show is a classic and it only had 44 episodes. This is a show the ended way too early. The only reason it ended was because Patricia Routledge (Hyacinth) did not want to be typecast and thus decided to quit.

  • i LOVE this show! xD

  • OH, BUCKET!

  • She's just a proper, clean, neat lady ^^

  • I love Richard, but give me Oslow any day! I like a man with a backbone.

  • really, 13 dislikes??? Mrs. Bucket should slap you for that!!

  • Bucket=Bouquet Genius.

  • I can always watch this! :D

  • I love this show haha thank you for uploading it! Now, I don't have to wait to just watch it on Sundays, I can watch it on here, too. :D

  • Very very few American TV comedies can live up to this British one.

  • Patricia Routledge as Hyacinth Bucket or Hettie Wainthrop RULES

  • 9:17 Rambo mug FTW!!

  • I agree with kittycat....you've got to have it together to even understand the show. I love that, unlike most TV, the characters physically looks are like REAL PEOPLE. Snowdrift

  • I agree with kittycat....you've got to have it together to even understand the show. I love that, unlike most TV, the characters physically looks are like REAL PEOPLE.

  • I love this show...it never gets old.

  • Hey...I have watched this show and several others on the BBC and RMPBS networks...:-))) I enjoy these programs (old, re-runs and new)...there are several other British sit-coms that are fun to watch (again) also..:-))) PEACE

  • LOL that randy major always had the hots for hyacinth hahaha

  • Classic! Still like the older english comedies !!! Thnx 4 post, from Canada.

  • Poor Richard:(

  • now this is real comedy!

  • I miss this show and other classic comedies that actually made you laugh. Unlike comedy of today, you end up being more depressed and angry after watching them.

  • BEST show in the world!!! Just got into it from Netflix, my favorite one is when Hyacinth freaks out because she put out the cookies ("biscuits") without a doilie on the plate... Her face is priceless!!!

  • Love this show and I live in America! I'm one of those few people who get British humor and dies laughing XD

  • @PandaGirl912, I know exactly how you feel! Though I'm half British. None of my American friends seem to understand shows like this.

  • this show is great

  • Patricia is who I was expecting to play Prof Umbridge in the harry potter films, much to my surprise they went with Imelda Stuaton instead

  • this is one of the funniest shows ever!

  • Havn't seen this since I was a kid! I loved sitting down to watch this with Mum and Dad

  • This show was a staple when I was a kid. The whole family watched it together. It will always be all about happy memories for me... And it's a very funny.

  • Hhaha Hyacinth LOOKS like my nan and SOUNDS like my nan and... well.. IS my nan all over Lol

  • I remember only a couple years ago when I stumbled upon this show. Just switching through the channels looking for something to watch. Then I just happened to tune it to KCTS (PBS) in Seattle. I saw this guy and his wife avoiding this strange family on castle grounds. Then they try and take off in a Rolls Royce and get arrested. (Because I tuned in the middle of the episode, I had no idea why). Nonetheless, I was instantly hooked. Such a shame this show lasted for only 5 years.

  • started watching this on PBS and got hooked right away, then last week mullbery took its place and I'm loving it to, hope they show all the episodes I have to know what happens to miss farnaby

  • I remember when this used to come on PBS. PBS doesn't hardly show any British sitcoms anymore.

  • wheres the dog that usually barks at miss bucket in the car??

  • @ShavonneLeape479 Fuck off. We get enough advertising before the vid. We don't need it in the comments, too.

  • Rose LOL always with some other chick's man!

  • This is the best show ever!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, I'm so glad I found this: haven't seen it in years.

  • One of my favourite sitcoms of all time! Hilarious!

  • who wore the pants in that household haha :o)

  • Anyone know what kind of car is in Onslow's front yard?

  • @thefungarian It's an Austin Allegro.

  • I want to go to a candlelight supper.

  • Hyacinth is so sanctimonious!

  • QUEEN MOTHER`S OUTSIDE!

  • Horrifying... Does it not make you feel like crying? She gets no mail.

Her last name is... But she pronounces it, pleasantly, "Bouquet"... Illiterate

males all around... Is that an imaginary husband? Maybe her real husband

is the guy in the "lazy boy chair" who drinks beer? He opens a can, and she

winces... Yet, she is "keeping up appearances"... Hopefully, she is blind and

living in a parallel universe, which nobody else can enter, or see.

  • One day I wood like visit all location were is shutting this grade show:)

    Especially house of Bucket lady:)!

    Greetings from Montenegro:)

  • I've been watching this show as a child on the bbc with my parents.

And because I live in Belgium, I thought a lot of British women were like Hyacinth.

And when I was 11 I went to London, and I was kind of disappointed I didn't saw anyone like her.

  • @mikersss89 .... no, but there are some, the rich ones, they are called Posh.

  • @mikersss89

  • Maybe that's why Daisy is dizzy, she waits until the last minute to clean. Procrastinators unite! Tomorrow! Or...some later date!

  • LOL i love this show hahaha

i never used to understand how Richard can stand Hyacinth haha

opening doors for her, obeying her rules LOL

    hes a saint:P

  • @gtzcooliegyal opening doors is just common politeness as far as I'm concerned but I agree with the rest lol

  • @gtzcooliegyal I think he also, in his own way, does love her and he's an honorable man. Either way, yes - he is a saint.

  • @gtzcooliegyal

    exactly...how_?

  • I love how he hits the tv and it turns on, epic.

  • This sitcom used to come on every Friday over here in America and I would watch it with my parents. It is so funny and amazing. Much better than most American sitcoms.

  • 7:34 Priceless. XD

  • i love this show its so funny, poor, poor richard.

  • This is a very British show, as the British are considered to be obsessed with social differences. And at the same time, the humour is pretty universal, for the situations are as absurd in China as they are in England...

  • It's the bucket woman!!

  • @itsasecrets oooohhh.... BUCKET !

  • @DancingSpiderman I like it too when the posteman says that..... xD
