I think Taylor may be the greatest musician that ever lived. From Jubil in the old testament until now. I know my music. So young and innocent in 1969, He is the greatest talent that ever came along. If I had one autograph in the world it would be Mick Taylor.
@flintrox i saw him at the bearsvill theater in woodstock ny about 1 year ago. i got him to sign 4 autographs for me and i was front and center for an awesome show
@hillarychapman1 See, I have to agree. No doubt Taylor can play the guitar like few others. But, having said that, he has never been as good as when he was with the Stones. The Stones have always been good, before, during, and after the Taylor years.
I loved the Stones during Taylors tenure. It was their best recordings IMHO. But I'm not going to be harsh about Woody. He's a good player--was fantastic with the Faces..and has always been a good mate of Keith..they get on well. But taylor's leads on those records..on my.
Mick Taylor influenced me so much the last 25 years but I was very dissapointed when a newspaper in Germany wrote in a review, that I sound like Jeff Beck:-)) It´s not easy to find your own style...
Woody did not change their sound. Brian Jones and Mick Taylor were key elements during their time with the band. After Some Girls, where Woody is fantastic, his playing fell off sharply, as a guitarist playing for 30 years I do not know anyone who sites Ron Wood as an influence but most certainly Keith and Mick Taylor are mentioned. Anyway the term "importance" is what they left behind on vinyl and the Mick Taylor era is far more vital and classic than the Ron Wood era will ever be
stop complaining about that ronny wood didnt chang their sound, he did he plays all the guitar solo and he its a way better then keith richards that only play rhythm and chords all the time. mick taylor he was better in teqnique but the truely rolling stones sound its acient art of weaving a in guitars and when ronnie wood started this was more used
The reason the Stones make so much money now is because of business deals/sponsorship. Their most creative and fantastic period was when Mick Taylor was in the band. Although I love Keef, I have to admit, Mick Taylor is the greatest guitarist in the world.
I saw Mick T perform back in 1981 at the old Channel nightclub in Boston. Because he was a former Stone the place was rowdy and packed to the rafters. We got there early and were right on the edge of the stage. The pushing & shoving stopped when he went into his instrumental "Slow Blues" and damn near everyone was transfixed and mezmerized by his guitar genious. It was an awesome set. I knew after that night how vital he had been to the Stones.
haha u dont get it. the stones werent about how many albums they sold, they were about live preformances. some girls was their top selling album with 6 million sales, not much for one of the world's greatest rock bands of all time. they were all about preformance.
oh and if u think they reason they were better off without taylor was because of the money they made with out him, you just dont understand rock and roll.
The Mick Taylor era was the Golden age of The Rolling Stones. The weave of Keef's barbed-wire riffs and Mick's melodic elegance was something that rock music may not see again. It was a unique alchemy of grit and the sublime.
Mick do you remember me -your lady chauffeur? 72/73. Great evenings rehearsing Tubular Bells? Open sound stage -so romantic! And then the live concert in London -Festival Hall, was it? You were great -and a very nice guy.
Best thing the Stones ever did was hire Taylor. The worst thing they ever did was piss him off (replacing him with a dry and insipid and uninspiring guitar player like Wood certainly didn't help). They just became a boring cash cow after that.
I can't believe they didn't snap up Wayne Perkins when they had their chance. He played the solo on Hand of Fate on the Black and Blue album and it is so good. I bet old Woodie never came close to pulling it off live.
I think in france because the subtitles are french. I got it from bittorrent a few years ago.
Btw, sorry these video's are out of sync. I don't understand why the sound is so messed up because they are fine when I play them locally. Will try to fix it when I have time.
As much as i adore Mick it was his fault... He did'nt have to leave.. Imagine the stones with Mick NOW!

I wouln't take that to heart, although JB's not a criticism by any means! :-)
Most music critics don't know squat about they write about and as a result make some pretty dumb comparisons.
