That was a typical McCoy ride. Get the horse into a rhythm, get it jumping, keep pushing, believe in the horse, make it believe. I've ridden horses in the past and the best bit of info I was ever given was that a horse can tell when a rider is nervous or unsure; they won't extend. If a rider has bags of confidence, the horse can do anything. McCoy always rides believing his mount can win; he has been criticised for his aggressive riding, but he has ridden over 3,000 winners. Enough said.
Because of my job I watch thousands of races and to be honest you become quite blase about close finishes . But this guy McCoy is verging on the superhuman . Twice in the last couple of weeks I've watched him win races in a manner that just makes your jaw drop . And it does'nt matter to him if its Cheltenham or Carlisle . Grade One or a Seller . He just has that amazing determination to win .
i was expressing my opinion i live in a free country your reaction was to insult me , you probably never sat on a horse in your life ,macoy is a buther hr was responsable for exoctic dancers death at the last aintree meeting
brilliant ride, nearly as good as he rode witchita lineman this year!!!!!!!!!tony mcoy sports personality of the year,it should be him or phil taylor!!!!!!1
Phil Taylor has won the title 16 times. No recognition for it at all. He does not even turn up at the ceremony because he knows it would be futile. He should at least be one of the 10 nominees for sports personality of the year
That is what you call a serious ride. Mccoy drove him threw them fences. That's the way horses should be ridden. Just by looking at this race even if you weren't a follower of racing, you'd no that Mccoy is the best rider in the world. That was one of his best races he ever rode.
i heard terry biddlecombe say that mccoy and edredon bleau were made for each other as it was impossible to tell who wanted to win more than the other.
the way he was driving the horse it did,nt matter if he dropped one rein,, his momentum was forward and at that stage your not supporting him with the bit,, you sound like every other armchair jockey that has never sat on a horse,,
dont talk bollocks, why speak like your an expert no one else can give an opinion...
with 2 reins he surges to the front, one of his reins loosens and he drops it goes from being a neck to 1/4 of length up to being joined on the line again
does not take a rocket scientist to work that dropping the reins cost him victory so dont come out with your righteous kiss "norman" williamsons ass
You don't talk bollox. He's right. At that stage having dropped on his reins in one side it didn't matter. The horse was never pulling left so he didn't need his right reins. He was driving with the left side and thats all he needed. The better jockey won. End of.
And don't give me bollocks of, I don't no what i'm talking about cause i used to be a Jockey so i no excatly what i'm talking about.....

I had money on Edredon Bleu this day, what a memorable finish. Tenacious to the last. This is what jumps racing is all about.

you can fault norman he dropped one of his reins and lost by a short head that has a factor on the result
