  • they'll never work (at least not where i come from: minnesota). they don't work below freezing. the water vapor in the exhaust freezes the cell and you can't get it started unless you plug it in all day long, which is pretty much impossible. and not to mention they're very flimsey little membranes, so it would be breaking down all the time driving down rough highway 83 to mankato every day. vibration may be good for a woman's vagina, but not a fuel cell car.

  • The people that want this to come to reality and those who accepted aren't technically informed people, they are, just as the driver relationship manager for GM put, "Comfortable, Simple, and common." Which is basically stupids. Anything that is with-in a comfort zone won't challenge you.

  • Great video.

  • the hydrogen fuel cell car will never work

  • i'd like a more technical and informative video of this car

  • Before they redesigned the equinox GM should have made it look like the Hydrogen prototype, it looks beautiful

  • NASAs been using fuel cells for all their power ie apollo, shuttle and it works fine, and

h2 could be cracked from water using solar power and wind power, fuel cells make sense

    Just make the commitment.

  • But NASA wasn't worried about the million dollar price tag. Most of us drivers have a much more limited budget!

  • yeah but if god forbits you crash a car with h2 fulecells you are gonna fry everything around you (along with yourself) and if there are other h2 cars closeby then... you get the picture.come to think about it it's like you are sitting on a hydrogen bomb! I personally prefer the pneumatic (air) motor technology. Much safer, faster refuling and if a hybrid pneumatic-electric car will be made it should get decent milage.

  • cyberlord64 if hydrogen is made on board,on demand, the explosioon issue is significantly reduced.

  • The hydrogen in this vehicle is being provided by an external source and stored into tanks inside the vehicle which (in my opinion) makes them extremely dangerous.

I didn't understand what you meant by "made on demand" but if you mean breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen (whitch would be safe, economic, ecological, etc etc...) i think it has allready been successfully created but the guy building it died before he could publish his work.

  • way 2 go is electric plug-in cars associated with photovoltaic home systems in order to stop needing oil or coal power plants & gain ''free'' electricity that pays for itself. independence from oil producers , utilities & oil companies, ....dream on , remember the EV1 ?....fuel cell & internal combustion hydrogen burning engines are bull & will keep you in the hands of the only ones capable of implementing ''gas'' stations for it ...aka oil companies...do you want that ?

  • Sunlight is free, but not the equipment to gather it is costly. Better to use efficient batteries at 85% efficiency, rather than electrolysis and fuel cell at 24% efficiency!

Also, fuel cells and H2 storage costs a LOT more than batteries.

  • i like fool cells, but for some reason GM can't make another one

  • This is all fucking lies! Hydrogen and these make believe "cells" will never become a major alternative because it's unrealistic, not affordable, and is a ploy to get billions of our tax-dollars before we all realize it's a fraud! Hydrogen is 2 to 3 times as expensive as gas, there is no infrastructure to support even 1% of the population using these cars. Even if we built thousands and thousands of hydrogen fuel stations it would still not support even a 10% switch over to hydrogen. All BS!

  • typical head up your ass thinking, if you don't look for new things you'll stay were you are now.

  • Nothing new about hydrogen fuel cells. They fail as a commercially viable fuel period. Head up my ass? Well I have been driving a WVO converted Mercedes for a year now, have a 3 cylinder Geo as a backup car, had a hybrid Toyota but it got less mileage than the Geo so I sold it, have sold my outboard boat and all my gas-powered toys, used the money I made of the sale of the Toyota to solar panel my home, replace all lighting with energy saving bulbs, and rarely use my C.A. I'm way ahead of you.

  • Get educated on this matter before you spout quick and meaningless comments. GM is the same company that killed it's own EV(Electric Vehicle) program and shut down the production of the EV1. A car that could of cut our dependence oil by 75+% being it got up to 300 miles on one charge. This all happened just one month after GM bought Hummer from AM General. Maximum tax break for buying a EV in 2003-$4,000, Maximum tax break for buying a 6,000+ auto like the Hummer today-$100,000. Wake up!

  • hmm I have never seen the electrical connection in any of the Schwarzenegger press events...

  • not hydrogren!!!!!!

  • The equinox ways about as much as a luxury sedan, actually, aprox. 4,500 lbs.

  • You building any of these in Uzbekistan?

  • So when can I buy one?
