@joelberggen1,would you really dance to "Pocket Calculator" of 2 years later?Keeping the lyrics stripped right down in Hot on the Heels as though a sample(not sure how they actually produced it)is danceable-dancing to mundanities in German is not sexy, dont get me wrong i love Kraftwerk for their music but none of their vocal sounds do anything for me."Autobahn"became positively boring at the time of release as it did get quite alot of radio exposure.ps"silly goose"thats 1 from the history books!
@joelberggren1,i was well aware of Kraftwerk as a teenager so iam aware the sounds themselves are nothing new though i do not know of a Kraftwerk track from pre79 that has this tempo or structure...i can dance to this original version of "Hot on the Heels",there is no Kraftwerk track i could dance to from this period which is why "Hot on the Heels" deserves a "techno" mention where as Krafwerk does not(though admittedly in terms of "techno" influence they laid more basic foundation)..
as is so obviously stated previously i will do it again...minimal techno WAy before the word existed in a musical context...before its time more than any other trak you can shake a spunky stik at...
some ties i play two youtubes a once and i think this one sounds cool with the song by the band Sunn O))) - Báthory Erzsébet ... just saying .. but im on E at the momento at hippy johnnys casa ..
Ah the sound of my youth. TG always will be seen as the point where music and the perceptions of it changed. This is a genesis and even 30-ish years on it's still fresh and fantastic.
I had this playing on my I-Pod when walking around some of the worn out areas of Bristol. It really fits with the imagery of decaying, brutalist architecture.
Throbbing gristle? Throbbing gristle with the the throb & the gristle and the crazy Sega Genesis guy & he comes out on stage and says disoplahfaha
See Kids they listen to nine inch nails, which gives them the brain damage. So they're hippen and they're hoppin' and they're bippin' and ah boppin'. So they don't know what the Jazz Funk Greats are all about. Ya see, Industrial is like rock, no it's like techno, No actually industrial is like punk. It'll be around forever hehehe
@DimensionsofChange wtf? I like to nine inch nails and this. why shouldn't i listen to both? of course i think Throbbing Gristle is much better (this is my favorite TG song), but i grew up with NIN. I wouldn't think of comparing the two. And it seems like it does the opposite of brain damage. I think you're thinking of Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber. who cares what genre it is? good music is good music, regardless of genre.
@JohnnyLovely2 FIne you win the rant contest for today. All I got to say about NIN is that if a half dead 800 year old country musician can make a better version of one of Trent Razors whiny sounds than maybe industrial music's Nickelback should find something better to do with their time.
@DimensionsofChange im all for earth exploding. but you see, i have faith in very few things on this earth -being one of these few things, TG keeps me alive. I just couldnt go on if i heard this idea followed through.
@wtf111884 My defense for Disco is people are retarded and like back beat heavy BS Dance music that's unimaginative. I'm at a loss when it comes to the reason for the fashion
A CLASSIC....PAULA AND GENESIS INSPIRED ME TO GET MY FIRST BODY PIERCINGS AFTER SEEING THEIRS IN A MAG WHEN I WAS 16.....EHH 1990),YEAH I'M OLD....STILL HAVE MY PIERCINGS THOUGH.ITS MY HIDDEN SECRET :D
