  • Always have to cry remembering the great movies with this music.

The time I read the names in the book of the person who died, I have to read it three times. I couldn't beieve it.

Such a amazing time with Harry Potter.♥

  • 3 people are the umbridges of life!

  • sigh :)

  • ...instantly sobbing!

  • This song helped me when my friend was hit by a train this past year.

Now whenever I listen to it, I think of her and how she was such an angel.

I don't think that I can really explain it, but I think that those who have experienced something similar can understand.

The lyrics remind me of how much life she deserved. 15 is too young.....

  • @kotor2freak are you by any chance talking about tess?

    sorry if your not :(

  • @HPHGIC No, I'm talking about a girl named Kelsey.

  • thanks mary for posting the lyrics

  • Cara, que música perfeita *---*

Devia ter tocado na segunda parte do filme, na boa ><

  • Merry Christmas everybody!

  • OMG this makes me cry:') I miss you so much.every day.

  • "Merry Christmas Hermione" *sniff*

  • I can imagine this is what Lily would have told baby Harry before she died, if there had been time. Thank you, Lily, for protecting your son. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. Long live Harry Potter. <3

  • Harry Potter series is so Holy.

  • beautiful.

  • Great song and choir.

  • Was this even used in the film ?

  • @Marcatolegato yeah when they arrived in godrics hollow

  • It's a wunderful song. It shows, how much Lily loved her son.

  • this is so sad wonderful christmas.... :(

  • God I'm going to cry :( This is too much for my post-potter depression.

  • my love is here for the saga.. just amazing

  • oh yes...really love it <3

  • So beautiful. :')

  • Just sensational :'(

  • After Harry Potter has ended..I came back here to listen to remember our beloved characters were killed. Albus Dumbledore, Sirius Black, Alastor Moody, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Fred Weasley, Hedwig, Dobby...including Severus Snape!

  • lyrics: Oh sleep, sweet babe. Though the snow is falling deep around; Just sleep, dear babe Though the wind's a keen and icy sound. Oh hush, sweet babe There is nothing you should fear; Just hush, dear babe, for my love is always here. And I will hold you safe in my arms, so no evil can touch you, you will come to no harm. Wake now, dear babe Now the night is nearly through; Wake now, sweet babe There’s a world that's waiting here for you.

  • @jjj9727 This is the best interpretation I've found yet! thanks.

  • So lovely! The song wonderfully evokes the simultaneously tender and sad mother-child bond -- between both Lily and the infant Harry, and Mary and the infant Jesus. I would hope this becomes a standard for Christmas choirs - it certainly deserves to be.

  • This song makes me sad

  • i really wanted Harry and Hermione together more than anything when the last book came out and in HBP. but she clearly belongs with Ron and Harry and Hermione are each others brother and sister since they never had and brothers or sisters whereas ron had 6.

  • To me, this piece is about family and friends, sacrifice and pure love for those closest to you. This is about the trio even with Ron being gone at this time. And sure, it's also about Harry and Hermione, but because Harry is at his mother and father's grave and Hermione is there for him. Every guy and girl should a friend like this. Forget about attraction and romance for just a moment. Sure, we all need that. But to have a friend as loyal and supportive as this... there are few greater gifts.

  • So beautiful...

  • ...after all this time?...Always...

  • I don't believe this song was put in the movies for ron and hermione (not that I don't appreciate their character, struggle, or love story). I think this song was put in the movie to describe a fragile moment of tranquility amidst a terrible storm. I think we forget how scary it might be for an individual to face a war alone, without knowledge that their family or friends are safe.

  • es... precioso no hay palabras!

  • stressin out about school and all this other crap. I listen to this and am reminded that everything is going to be alright and I shouldnt sweat the little things. If I do ill just drown

  • Great Song!!! For great Charaters!!

  • Alright i fucking love the HP series (books) but you dont have to be such a pussy and start crying over music

  • @TheDonk95 Music is the purest essence of emotion, why not cry over it?

  • @TheDonk95 Yes, we do.

  • @AkasukiKain4545 Had to find TheDonk's comment, but..

Point goes to you, and a cookie!

  • @AkasukiKain4545 Good answer.

  • @Merlins1heir Thanks. It was very straightforward, though.

  • I never cry when I hear music, but I couldn't help it this time. This music just speaks directly to my heart.

  • it sounds if someone stands lonely in a church or an old castle and think of his love ...

  • I'm crying. This is so beautiful! if i ever have a baby i'm going to sing this to him/her.

  • @Adliitam That´s what i´m thinking about, too. Such a beutiful Song <3

  • Voldemort disliked this.

    Beautiful song :`)

  • hermione's love is always with harry . .

  • "Do you think there in there, Hermione? The church."

"Yeah...yeah, I think they would be."

    : ' )

  • Comment removed

  • @flubberdoodl17 "Do you think they WOULD be in there Hermione? my mum and dad?"

    "Yeah I think they would"

  • In the first movie, the death of Harry's parents doesn't look that tragic to me (Hagird telling him while he's drinking beer ^^ ) but now...I can't stop crying thinking of Lily and James : ( best parents ever <3

  • "Lay calm, sweet babe There’s a world waiting here for you. "

    farwell Harry....

  • Im gonna read my child harry potter when theyre 5..and send them to sleep while singing this song..

  • Listen to this music while watching "The Prince's Tale" and there's a good chance you will bawl your eyes out.

  • This song was composed by John Williams

  • @ELREGA2 was it really? I can't find any reference of Williams to this song

  • @ELREGA2 No. It was composed by Alexandre Desplat and Gerard McCann.

  • This soundtrack is awesome!! so beautiful!! every time I hear this I think to James and Lily :'(

  • This makes me question the Hermione/Ron relationship.

  • @thePopperable I so agree with you! I never ever questioned Hermione and Ron's relationship, but seeing Ron acting so immature and hurting Hermione and theyir constant fighting i wonder if Harry would be the right choice for her, maybe not 'love' choice but soul mate, cause isn't your soul mate someone that always stands there for you?in happyness and sadness?isn't your soul mate someone with who you don't need words to express feelings.I am not talking about a relationship but a deep love!

  • @MrsLuvthatsong Hermione and Ron don't need words to express feelings either. The reason they "constantly fight" is because they're confused about their feelings for each other and bickering is the only way they know how to display the passion they have for each other. With them, the bickering becomes routine. Its what they do to express affection. The reason Ron is so horrible in DH is because of the Locket. Once its gone he knows he needs to start showing Hermione how much he loves her. R+H <3

  • Does anyone know where you can download this song?

  • @chloesaysrawr3 Use VDownloader, copy URL, and select audio simple high quality.

  • gooosebumps!!

  • this makes me bawl. it's kinda sad.

  • My favourite piece from the film. I love choral-winter songs. I love snowy winters in my village. I love Enlgish winters when it snows and the hearth burns brightly. This is truly beautiful and yet...so very sad too. A very stark message of loneliness in a time when others are surrounded by loved-ones.

  • @WoodlandAsh I was born on Christmas Day, so it's always been doubly celebrated by my family and there are ALWAYS people around, even though my village is quite small. To contrast with the loneliness that Harry and Hermione must feel...it really is heartbreaking.

  • @SilaVendethiel I enjoy the solitude as I don't always get to spend the festive season with my love. Usually I prefer to go out for a walk in the woods with the dog and reflect on things.

  • @WoodlandAsh oh, I love solitude, and I'm the same; I love to go out for walks in the evenings :)

It's the isolation as opposed to solitude that gets me. The bit in Grimmauld Place where Hermione says "we're alone" is the most chiling part of the film for me.

  • I just thought about how I loved the christmas scenes in the early books, they were always so cheerful. And now this christmas scene is just so heart wrenching, yet beautiful.

  • lyrics: Oh sleep, sweet babe Though the storm is violently around; Just sleep, dear babe Though the wind's a keen and icy sound. Oh hush, sweet babe There is nothing you should fear; Just hush, dear babe Oh, my love is always here. I lightly hold you safe in my arms Sun or rain will not touch you Will not come to harm. Lay calm, dear babe Now the night is nearly through; Lay calm, sweet babe There’s a world waiting here for you.
  • @MaryWantsToSayHello I can imagine that Lily used to sing this to Harry...

  • This really makes me think about the past 10 years.... :(

  • do you know where can I get this song? I mean download , of course...

  • this gives me the shivers! Excellent!

  • This cue gives me hope that Desplat can write outstanding choral stuff for Part 2.

  • @yonythemoony I don't mean to be a bother, but it's not Desplat who wrote it for choir. Desplat wrote the first draft and Conrad Pope arranged it for choir.

  • @samlab0920 This cue was written by Desplat and Gerard McCann according to the credits.

  • I was wondering what this song was when I saw the film, and have purchased the $50 limited edition just for this. I LOVE this song, and am not ashamed to admit it brings me to tears. This is the best new Christmas song since Somewhere in my Memory from Home Alone, which was 20 years ago if you can believe that.

  • I loved the way this music was playing and Harry says "You think they might be in there Hermione? My Mum and Dad."

  • @PadfootProngs7

It's more about parts that were essential to the emotional character of the books, not the plot line, I think. It's different very often, not meaning bad.

  • Only a Voldermort could dislike this.

  • Haunting. Beautiful.

I really hope they play the whole thing in the ending credits of the next movie too!!

It's deserves a lot more recognition!

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • @mikkythesmoker Oh, please. One of the most faithful HP adaptions ever.

  • @mikkythesmoker The movies are not crap they did their best to keep true to the books and there is only so much you can put in 2 hours

  • @pussycat250 well yeah, ok, it's not crap. I've been spending some time over re-seing the movies.. it's good and everything, but sometimes looking back at what the books are like, I feel like disappointed.

There are other movies based on books (like Lord of the rings) that are much bettre realized...

  • @mikkythesmoker Lord of the Rings had a lot of modifications in terms of plot, characters and story, much more than HP. The HP films had modifications in terms of little details on scenes or stuff like that. But they always kept the same plot, the same characters. Especially in DH part 1. About DH part 2, they really changed stuff.

  • @mikkythesmoker Oh my goodness! Seriously? In which parts did they not stick true to the book? Parts that were essential to the plot line.

  • I really kind of hope they replay the entire night when harry's parents die, and it's in Slow motion to this song. That'd be just perfect for the finale.

  • @silasreade agreed

  • very very very beautiful. I cried.

but I don't remember when this song is played in the movie.

  • @Vitu66 I believe you can hear it in the graveyard scene when Harry finds his parents' grave.

  • @doggieyo You hear it when they're approaching the church.

  • @Vitu66 in the graveyard, when he finds his parents grave. you can hear it from the church. :(

  • Its too much, i cant believe it'll be over soon. I hate the feeling that i will never be called Hermione by my friends again, and we'll never spend hours playing wizard chess and trying to make pumpkin pasties. i agree with hermione4everlove who wrote that fans will always keep the trio in our hearts - so to all you fans, keep making videos even if you know they'll never be seen, keep writing fantasies of Harry Potter even if you know they'll never happen. Never forget those seven books.

  • @FreakyFreakyBaby Well Said

  • While I'm listening to this, I start crying and thinking about those great adventures we all had with Ron, Harry and Hermione... And I know, that when you're a fan you're going to miss them and that you'll keep them always in your heart.

  • Definitely best part of all soundtracks. Should play in the end credits of Part 2. Or something like that...

  • One person's love is not there. How can you dislike this video?

  • Both Christmas hymns from the series were cut short in the films. Like in the first film at Christmas with the ghost's singing and this. But both times because it wouldn't fit in with the scene. This was over heard by 'Godric's Hallow' and I think its all it needed to leave its mark is its 10 seconds

  • Makes me think....it's about to end....damn..

  • Reminds me of numerous gallic lullabies and christmas hymns

  • Que hermosaaa, no tenía idea de que estaba completa!! ♥

  • me gusto ^-^

    beautiful <3

  • They should have part of the Hogwarts battle set to this song.

  • @GreatCheeseWheel That would be nice. But I read somewhere Enya and Desplat were working together on a song for DH part 2. Perhaps they use it for the battle.

  • I've been looking for this song ever since the movie came out, and now I've finally found it!

  • I cried the first time I listened to it. So emotionally appealing and saddening at the same time. One of my favorite parts in the book and scenes in the movie. Go on Harry, cry like I am!!

  • @avadakedavraization I cry almost every time I listen to it! You're right, it really does mean so much. So comforting.

  • Oh hush, sweet babe There is nothing you should fear; Just hush, dear babe Oh, my love is always here. I lightly hold you safe in my arms Sun or rain will not touch you Will not come to harm. Lay calm, dear babe Now the night is nearly through; Lay calm, sweet babe There’s a world waiting here for you.
  • I LOVE the double meaning of these lyrics - obviously referring to the Christmas story, but also Lily's sacrifice for Harry and his parents' presence in him.

    Oh sleep, sweet babe

    Though the storm is violently around;

    Just sleep, dear babe

Though the wind's a keen and icy sound.

  • Aaah thank you for uploading this with this picture! So beautiful! And that was such a sad scene. ;_;

  • 0:42

"Do you think they'd be in there, Hermione? My mum and dad?"

    ....

"Yeah, I think they would. "

  • one person daesn't have love always there

  • whyy is this making me cry?!??!

  • This was an experience for Harry and Hermione to share, completely solidifies their friendship, Harry and Ron already had their moment, or moments...this was Harry and Hermione's moment.

  • Harry and Hermione together experienced something important...without Ron

  • this song NEEDS an oscar win!!! The whole soundtrack needs to win best original score, and Alexandre Desplat SHOULD win for best composer!!!

  • @SpiderBoy992 Too bad it didn't even get nominated.. :(

  • A heavenly piece... perfect for that part. It feel like a good bye for the ones who died. Solemn and beautiful *cries* Thank you!

  • My interpretation of the lyrics (Assuming this is Mary talking to the baby Jesus):

Oh sleep sweet babe. For the stars brightly are gone. Just sleep dear babe. Not a word will keep an icy sound. Oh hush sweet babe. There is nothing you should fear. Just hush dear babe. For my love is always here. I lightly hold you safely in my arms. Son of … lay calm tonight. Lay calm dear babe. Know my might will see me through. Lay calm sweet babe. There’s a box (like a gift) waiting here for you.

  • @sportsman893 THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU so much!!! :D

  • @sportsman893 it sounds like "Son of eden I touch you, lay calm tonight"

  • @sportsman893 awesome job

  • This is too beautiful. I loved it so much in the film and I wish it was used a little longer in the film. I'm having flashes between Harry and Hermione in the graveyard and the end of Glory here. Desplat deserves the Oscar nomination for this.

  • Harry I think it's Christmas Eve!

  • AWESOME!!! :) Where can i find the lyrics??? I love it!!!

  • *_______________* <3

  • Amazing! Very LOTR esqe. Should play it during the credits for Part2! And Part2 should end with "leaving hogwarts".

  • @indysoul86 *_*... good idea! *_*

  • Absolutely gorgeous song

  • I can't believe I missed this beautiful score in theaters. perhaps because my friend started to get bored and was annoying me...bring on the DVD so I can lock myself away in my room with the volume maxed so I can hear every sound the movie has.

  • @xerxerxex It sounded like ten seconds in the film

  • @yonythemoony I have a good ear. anything that touches my ear and sounds pleasant I'll pick up on...and then scramble to find what it is.

  • @yonythemoony Hi, in wich scene? I don't remember it

  • :) que genial

  • Definitely should've played in the credits.

  • I hate how some of the best cues of the score we're butchered in the film. This one barely sounds in the movie. Same thing with The Tale of the Three Brothers and Grimmauld Place. There's music which wasn't in the movie.

  • @yonythemoony i agree

  • @yonythemoony quick question do you think the choir is singing in latin at the begining of the song

  • @heerogunkenobi I think so. Steve Kloves's lyrics for Nicholas Hooper's In Noctem we're in latin.

  • @yonythemoony i see cool ^_^

  • "Merry Christamas Hermione"

    "Merry Christmas Harry"

    *cries*

  • sweet!

  • i love it

  • This is Beautiful, This song should represent all of our Fallen Friends in the film

  • @Dark1Phantom I agree.

  • @Dark1Phantom

It has nothing to do with death. It's Mary singing to Jesus. He was just born. You can't really relate this song with death. In Noctem wouldn't even work for our Fallen Friends because it's about Dumbledore. They didn't have bad memories like he did. Desplat will write a song about them. There's no reason to reuse one, even though it might seem fitting.
