  • omgg, thanks you! i have finals tomorrow and i need to write about how scout and jem have changed over the series of the book and what they learned and i couldn't figure them out but the mockingbird one, thank you sooo much :)

  • their faces look a little weird at 2:30.

    Like window streaked.

  • @cg19981 its the reflection of fire on their faces lmao

  • @Sw499erB0iZ er, okay. I know that. I was just commenting on the patterns on their faces, okay?

They were streaked that I made a comment about it. Nothing big.

  • @cg19981 okay, i wasn't trying to make you look dumb was just having a laugh, someone doesn't have a sense of humor..

  • @Sw499erB0iZ oh okay. Thanks. I was just a little off guard. But I know it doesn't hurt to have a little humor now and then.

  • @cg19981 pointless reply, smh

  • Love this book! ive read it 3 times! <3

  • wow, this is such a GREAT story :') . I'll be doing a New Historicism Criticism on this.I just wanted to see its summary,I'm gonna read it now..thanks Sparknotes.

  • I didn't really follow the book at first, were reading it in English but I wanna thank you so much because this makes me understand it now! :)

  • LOL. I just don't get why Dill has white hair. =))

  • @Bunny1o1 yeah i dont get it too ..hahaha

  • @Bunny1o1 It's a light light bleach blond, I believe.

  • Great summary

  • guess i don't need to read the book for english now <3

  • this book is so good read it

  • Apparently Bob Ewell didn't get stabbed, instead he took an arrow to the knee and died. :)

  • @IMIK878, he got stabbed. It says so in the book, the movie and this...

  • Test tomorrow about chapter 23-27! Thanks!:) good luck to all who need it haha

  • This is on my exam for tomorrow =.=

Good luck to everyone who is here for tests! :D

  • There are rumors that Harper Lee didn't really write the book that actually a man who I don't know his name wrote the book. Well anyway the only two people who know the truth is Harper Lee who's a hermit and the man. Also the movie To Kill a Mockingbird should be remaked!:)

  • this n macbeth is on my exam FUCKKKK

  • This is on my Exam :(

  • I thought of actually reading this book but I took an arrow to the knee, so now I'm procrastinating.

  • i read most of the book unwillingly for my english 1206 course. After the first reading the book drove me to the edge of boredom. However after further reading and really examining the book over and over for midterm exams i gotta say this is an amazing, dramitic demonstration of very important, universal themes. Good Job Harper Lee

  • thank you...this was really helpful because i am running out of time <3 thank you so much

  • Thank you! This was really helpful lol

  • *PAGE 1* Me: Well I better get this summer reading done... "Whe-" *slam* I fell into a beautiful sleep.

  • I had read the book, for those who haven't, do So, it is a wonderful book, and though this sparknote video is very good on a few things, it has not caught some of the best parts of the book.

  • i love the narrators voice. :P

  • This is really sad. Most of the people over here haven't read the book. It's one of the greatest books I've read, and if I watched this video before I had read it, i'd have ruined the book for myself. All of you have lost your chances of reading a really good book, and I feel sorry for you. This makes me sick and i'm never using sparknotes again, and i'm going to discourage people from using it. You people should stop doing this and fucking read a bit. Fucking idiots.

  • @TheDirtyFlower494 It's even more repulsive how they admit to their stupidity and flaunt it with pride.

I had Portuguese Literature (I'm from portugal, lol) in my high school years and read the books that the teacher reccomended. Those books changed me forever and sometimes even kept me awake at night.

I'm actually watching a little bit of each of these videos because I want to start reading the Classics. Any suggestions, by the way?

  • @filipamd I couldn't agree with you more. It's really sad. Don't spoil these books for yourself on sparknotes. I do agree that sparknotes gives great summaries and analyses, which are really good for revising, but it's a much more fulfilling experience to actually read the book. If I had to suggest anything to you, it would be to just read anything and everything that you get your hands on. :)

  • this kind of looks like king of the hill

  • this is the same thing as the movie but shorter

  • I have read almost half of the book. This summary really helps. I've read some parts that are mentioned. Hope I can finish it. Hahaha.

  • @chickemily69 i think shannie is kiding

  • 3:46 fuck yea face

  • I thought this video would help me understand the book more, instead it skipped a whole portion of the book.

  • 3:46 Obama pose

  • This video sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • ...'effin sad. Read the goddamn book, it's great. Oh I forgot, most of you are too busy with Facebook.

  • This saved my life <3

  • Sparknotes. Saving students' lives one day at a time.

  • Boo didnt kill Bob, Bob Feel on his own knife.

  • @ShannieLovesZeeEarth nope, heck tate said that to cover up arthur killing him

  • I used Sparknotes for half of this book when I had a test the next day, but I still finished the whole book after. It's a great book...I really recommend you read it.

  • i read this freshman year of high school. I got sidetracked on the spark notes channel. 6 years later i get sidetracked on this channel and remember how awesome this story is.

  • the 3 dislikes are probably teachers

  • I actually read this freshman year but I'm just here because I forgot almost everything.

  • AHH BOO RADLEYSFACE AGAIERGOAIERG

  • I'm gonna say this now, it's okay if you are using the sparknotes for school but for this book, To Kill a Mockingbird, even if you don't have enough time now because tomorrow is probably the due date, I still recommend you read this book, it's one of my favorite books of all time.

  • gotta finish my homework on this gay shit before SKYRIM tomorow:) .... until then fuck you school

  • @Skyyker 0_e Pickles.

  • battlefield 3 ad in the corner.cant fucking focus on this shit -.-

  • I read the book and I didn't pick up on most of the points here...

  • THIS HELPED ME PASS GSCE, HELL YEAH!!!

  • this will help me big time on my test(: who needs reading ^.^...

  • The last chapter of this book is the scariest thing I've ever read.

  • When I watched the 1960's film adaptation, the "raped" woman in court looked like a man

  • aaah this is somewhat incorrect, but whatever.

  • I'm watching this because it was a brilliant book, not because I HAVE to :)

  • This book was called to kill a mockingbird because the mockingbird in this case is tom robinson, because he didn't do anything bad and he still got killed. Get it straight people

  • I hate it when people are like, "It has nothing to do with mockingbirds." It's not supposed to be taken literally! It's figuratively! Soo dumb. I love this book.(:

  • Great book.

  • Sucks cuz i have to use 2 adjectives on 7 characters and write 3 quotes from the story to prove it :P so thats 42 quotes total...

  • This book has nothing to do with killing mockingbirds.

  • @NRA4ever1399

You don't get it? It doesn't just apply to Boo Radley, it applies to all the black people as well...

  • @UlrimateRaviel Its freaking retarded.

  • "her mother dead" the narrator has no emotion at all lmao.

  • This will definitely help me, thank God for sparknotes. It's actually a really good story and is one of the few "classics" that i actually like...

  • Sparknotes:preventing summer reading since 2006(or whenever it came out).

  • My school got to watch the stage version of this book..... so good!

  • This vid saved my whole weekend.. bloody assignment

  • Summer reading blows.

  • 3:21 there's something wrong with the image Tom is holding the shovel with his left arm also, how did he pull up his sleeve on top of that

  • @Spikestuff95 Thats your left side not his lol

  • @Seanboy389 that's what I mean My Right facing the image his left if I'm behind him

  • spark notes is making american's lazy

  • 2 people must have read this book upside-down

  • this save my life

  • 2 Teachers mus have disliked this... Then again.. Why are teachers creepin about on youtube? Hmmm. I still wont read this book, way to slow and boring for me... But tests are tests

  • @EvanLividicus Read the damn book. It's boring at first 5 pages (like most books) and it gets good.

  • @JammerZice Nope wont read the book. You can go home now and stop bothering people.

  • But have you tried reading it? Do you read books? If so, what do you read?

  • @JammerZice Oh, it saddens me that you're the future of our country..

  • @carloshugo3000 haha

  • @carloshugo3000

Your comment was posted 6 months ago but I hope you ended up reading it by now. It really is a great book. Don't be too lazy to read. I wish I read more of what my teachers assigned in high school but I thought like you do and I regret it now. The stories you read stay with you for life, and what you did instead of reading you won't remember.

  • Why are people flipping out when there is the n word in the older books? The n word back then was just like when people of today says that person is black.

  • Thanks, you've saved my English GCSE :)

  • "Her Mothers Dead"

Lol that was sort of sudden and morbid.

  • That made the book so much more easy to understand! thanks

  • This is one of the few books I read in school that I actually liked.

  • Good work!

    This helps a lot! ;)

  • OMG. Thank you sooo much. :D

    I actually understand this now :L x

  • A very good summary, good job

  • the drawings make scout look cuter than she is in the movie

  • OMG BOO RADLEY!!! ahhhhh :(

  • Atticus turns me on and I'm a boy.

  • Co za asy

  • studying my test today. -__-

  • reading this at school.....we're supposed to be on chpt.11 but im on chpt.18, i cant put it down!

  • they left out the part where Tom Robinson tries to escape

  • Remember, don't kill a mockingbird. Killing nightingales, woodpeckers, blackbirds or barn-owls is perfectly fine though.
