I like main hook here, do you have patches in syx format ? did you tried SQ8L vsti ? it sounds great ,very similar .Did you used EQ on your tracks or just reverb on everything or just on melody or pads?
@bWWd0 This track is 100% SQ-80, using the onboard sequencer. I sold this synth last year and I never was able to get the patches off of it. I think a little reverb was added using my Alesis MIDIVERB III.
Now I'm considering selling my Roland D-50 to get a Yamaha SY-77 or SY-99. I really miss having the sequencer onboard...
Nice job! I have been using Ensoniq synths since the 90s and still use them.
I am working on a new cd made all with Ensoniq synth and a Novation Nova(just for arpeggiations). All ambient music wide and expansive stuff. Most of the music is being performed on VFX-SD(moded to a SD-1 for extra waveforms and drums) and a ESQ-1 all my custom sound.
These are amazing machine and very overlooked. Powerful and big sound.
derek are you writing this music yourself, or are you varying on a theme, or what? the tags lead me to believe it's a variation on a miami vice song or something. am i right?
