I do use bee pollen! My favorite smoothie is called "Blueberry Bee," and I got the recipe from a local raw foods restaurant that no longer makes this smoothie. I don't have exact measurements, but I would say that in order from largest portion to smallest, the ingredients are:
-Frozen blueberries
-Almond Milk
-Banana
-Pure, Raw Honey
-Bee Pollen
Really spectacular treat, and probably pretty nutritious.
I'm a beekeeper to the question of organic honey a bee will fly three miles from the hive to find nectar so as said earlier it's almost impossible to get 100%organic honey even here in Western North Carolina where there's no commercial farms people do grow gardens and to my dismay spray them with chemicals. To u7name the honeybee puts all the honey that the hive needs in the brood chamber the beekeeper doesn't touch this what we harvest is the excess that a hive will naturally produce.
@guitarobsessed85 Bees use all of their honey. "Bees produce honey as a store of food to keep the colony alive through winter and periods when they can't fly." (Please search this quote for the full article at Telegraph.co.uk.) There is no need to steal honey from bees. Go vegan!
@makealilmoney You are at once ill informed and rude. First, vegans don't eat honey; only non-vegans eat honey. Second, there are no vitamins in honey that vegans can't get from vegan sources. There is no need to steal honey from bees. Go vegan!
@makealilmoney Vegans don't use honey by definition. There are no vitamins in honey that can't be found in vegan sources. If you think otherwise, please name one or more of these honey-only vitamins.
I eat honey and bee pollen regularly from ys organic bee farms... recently i discovered that only some of their honey is actually organic. Any idea where i can find pesticide-free/high quality bee pollen and/or royal jelly?
@GMIrvs It's nearly impossible to get organic honey because bees will go very far from the hive to obtain pollen. They will go to some farms that used pesticides and some that don't.
great video! I didn't know about the 3 day thing, either.
I do eat bee products... I LOVE bee pollen, and I like honey too but I'm trying to watch my sugars so I have to limit that.
I'd like to get some royal jelly and propolis too but I can't seem to find any. The raw online merchants I know and trust never seem to have it in stock.
Could you tell us just what type of locally produced be products are most effective to help with allergies? I often eat local honey but have heard the crystals produced are more effective. What are these crystals and in what quantities would you need to comsume them? Thank you, Kevin. ~Namaste
Not vegan but sustainable if local and also health promoting for many people. I think veganism is very helpful for understanding humans as part of our ecosystem rather than separate from it, but I think strictly adhering to dogma based on Donald Watson's definition can sometimes limit us.
I used to think that, and while I don't think I will never eat meat, myself. I think about bison and how integral they are to the prairie biome, I am convinced that if those that aren't yet at a mental/physical place where they can give up meat switched to free range bison, we would solve a lot of environmental and health issues.
@histerics3 Yes thank you soo much!! Its nice to see someone who doesnt eat meat saying this. I eat bison and free range bio dynamic organic animals in my diet. And I really was happy when I saw your comment because I think allot of vegans/vegatarians, instead of fighting factory farming which is the real enemy, just attack anything meat related.. I think its wise we all work together at this point, and choose are battles carefully.
In my opinion , Bee Products are the most powerful when taken in a powerful combination...If you eat Bee Propolis Extract,Royal Jelly,Bee Pollen & Raw Honey in the same day Man It's Really something amazing!
"That buzzing-noise means something. If there's a buzzing noise, somebody's making a buzzing-noise, and the only reason for making a buzzing-noise that I know of is because you're a bee. ....
And the only reason for being a bee that I know of is making honey.....
And the only reason for making honey is so as I can eat it." ~Winnie the Pooh
I know you were trying to be cute and all, but Winnie the Pooh's mentality ('The world is here for me' attitude) clearly reflects the mentality of most North Americans today. It's neglecting to see the whole picture. Bees play an incredibly important role in our eco system. Without them pollenating, we would not be able to enjoy a wide variety of plant foods today. Exploiting them is disrespectful and selfish.
we actually don't need honey bee's to pollenate our food, that idea is just something beekeepers cooked up to keep their profits up. bees are needed on factory farms. problem is bees push the native pollenators off their territory because honey bees are breed to be more aggressive to produce more honey faster. I would post a link to a great site with mor info, but it won't let me so you can e-mail me for it. Pollen and honey is the bees food.... period
Awesome video! Great info from the beekeeper. Thanks for making the video!

@u7name You do know that the bees overproduce honey?

@u7name Bee Pollen is vastly used by Vegans to supply the vitamins the don't get from meat. So troll somewhere else please.

While I understand your point, I don't buy into that argument as you can also apply it to "free-range" meats as well.
The point is that humans can do just fine by leaving all animals (including Bee's and insects used in food coloring) to their own purpose.

I eat pollen, usually in yoghurt.
Sometimes I soak whole grain muffins in raw honey and lemon juice to make them part 'living'.
Once in a while I take some Royal Jelly as a supplement.
Propolis for protection agains patheogens.
Wax candles are burned during ceremonials or parties.
