How can you make improvements on the Bear River??? Didn't God make it flow from Walloon Lake??? I did the canoe run from Camp Daggett in the summer of '73, there didn't seem to be anything a good pair of arms couldn't handle!
We've become a country of wimps!!! Dig your oar in and paddle! Cowboy UP!!!
And pray tell what makes you so intelligent, because you AREN'T from Petoskey? Must be alot of Petoskey hating trolls on the internet! Give you a clue idiot...I traveled the entire world in the miltary, I was raised in Petoskey, and I believe it's the best place on earth to raise a family...
@bearriver666 And what would YOU take over rapids, a yacht? An innertube? Your comment is incredibly stupid.
By the way, someone who is criticizing someone else's intelligence should know the difference between the words "their" and "they're" and and the correct usage of each. You obviously don't, therefore I'm betting you're "not known for being too smart" yourself.
Cool video, you should be happy to know that my company will be making BIG improvements to this river in Petoskey this summer, we will be the General Contractor, I hope you enjoy it!!
LOVE THIS. I live right on lake street and have heard of people kayaking the river but have never seen it. This is the best way to watch it. Great job!
hello. i want to kayak down the bear river in petoskey.you said you moved but know people still in the area. i would like to go with somebody with experance. please email me or give my address to a friend. i wanted to go aug 2,3,. is the water leavel the same as the time of your video? thank you
Try Wayne at the Canoe Hut on Crooked Lake. (231) 348-7040. As for the water level in August, pray for rain. Visual gauge info at American Whitewater org
I did it with my brother in the fall of 2007 in an open 17' 4" old town canoe. We took a lot of water on when we went over the big drop. I still have bruises on my shins where I hit the cross bar. We had laughed when the lady at the livery we called (even though we had our own canoe) told us we were crazy and people got injured doing that section.
Wow, that's awesome! I'm from Indian River and never knew about this river. Where do you put in and how long of a stretch is it? Much better than the Sturgeon. Thanks for the vid.
Chris, I a living in New Hampshire now, but I can give you a couple names of people who went down the river with me. Boaters are always looking for someone to go with.
cool video.. I'll have to try that river one day.

@bigddrums7 In more recent videos you can tell where they put in boulders to make the river narrower. That makes it faster.

I saw your earlier comment about hooking someone up with other boaters. I just moved here & I'm desperate for kayaking buddies!
