If anyone else picked DHB they would of been smart taking a WR who played pro style offense in college. He may not be the player the world wanted the Raiders to pick, but he fits the system. How many other teams picked someone that worked for there system not what Mel Kiper thought they should get. Had we gone with Speed in 2008 and passed on McFadden and shock the world by going with Chris Johnson (Ten) over McFadden. We wouldve gotten the same reaction from Kiper and the ESPN media. But now in 2009 that wouldnt have looked as a bad pick. What im saying is give it time, who knows. Chris Johnson was given an F Grade by Kiper and McShay last year and he had a monster rookie season.
I can go on and on about how Crabtree has over inflated stats and the spread offense, or Texas Tech's history of receivers having big numbers.
Carlos Francis went 4th round to the Raiders in 04 when he ran a 4.3 and he was from Tech, they didn't take him 1st round.

Darrius Heyward Bey is the most NFL ready WR. He played in a NFL type offense. Maybe not alot of stats. Maybe because Maryland was a Run first team. If stats was all that mattered, then Texas Tech QB Harrell would be top 10..
