  • do any of kids even know what this song is about? lol

  • @theweepingclown do you?

  • @theweepingclown I don't really listen to rap, so I'm having difficulty understanding everything he says, but from some of the imagery I picked up on and the refrain "I am the beast I worship" it sounds a whole lot like Satanism. Actual Satanism, not what people think Satanism is.

  • Sorry, Sacramento.

  • @Thejammington82, Death Grips is from San Francisco.

  • holy shit charles manson is soooo fucking crazy, you can just see how his brain twist and turns

  • These guys have more in common with Black Flag and Throbbing Gristle than just about any hip hop group I can think of (maybe M.O.P., but even that's a stretch.)

  • @yetiresearch I highly agree! Throbbing Gristle rules too

  • What movie is the intro sample from? This is the second song I've heard it in O_o

  • @2ndSucksD00d That's a famous quote from Charles Manson. Probably audio from one of his 80's interviews in jail.

  • Hip hop needs shit like this these days, Tyler the creators trying to do it stateside, and we have people like Death Grips in the UK balancing out upbeat shit like Rizzle Kicks, and continuing the ever going battle of real music vs radio 1! Keep it coming people!

  • @Thejammington82 Hey man hate to disappoint you but Death Grips are from california and not the UK. Still amazing group though. Cheers James, Manchester, UK

  • Damn he so sexaaaay! I would!

  • And here I was thinking Doseone was weird

  • The sample is: Jane's Addiction - Up The Beach

  • @PhreakPhantom

I thought it was from Mountain Song at first

  • Pure Evil Rap. Fucking love it, keep it up!

  • FUCKING INTENSE

  • I don't like very much rap at all, but this shit is fucking great.

  • This is sick so original.

  • damn Ezel.... u sure love crack

  • While i dont completely agree with all that he says, this song is fucking sick

  • Trips to where, few have been

Out of thin air, upon high winds

Rites begin when the sun descends

Have felt what few will ever know

Have seen the truth beneath the glow

Of the ebb and flow, where roots of all mysteries grow

  • Im gonna get a beard like that.

  • necro creepy crawl ending!

  • Cactus juice.

  • this video is so grimy. i love it

  • god is watching, watchwatchwatchwatchwatch...

  • And I know soon come my time, but in mine void a pale horse burns,

But I fear not the time I've taken past the point of no return,

Wage war like no tomorrow cos no hell there won't be one,

For all who deny the struggle; the triumphant overcome.

I close my eyes and seize it, I clench my first and beat it, I light my torch and burn it, I am the beast I worship.

  • TO PRAY IS TO ACCEPT DEFEAT

  • I wonder how many people know what the meaning of this song it.

  • @DhanKOTB I have some ideas, but i'm not for sure. if you could be a champ and kind of explain tho, that would be awesome

  • @VersusTheAir :)

Basically (it's kinda hard to explain if you don't have a concept about it alread) but this song is 100% about spirituality. 100%, from beggining to end. The VERY first paragraph is practically a prayer, to yourself, because true spirituality teaches you that god is within all of us, and the only 'worship' we need to do is to become self sufficient.

And then literally every line after this is about Spirituality and The Path, I'm not gonna list em all out and expl

  • @DhanKOTB ain them cos theres too many and i can only 'decode' somewhat correctly about 70%, aha. "Fuck this life; worship Death" "Embrace this life with no remorse" "Worship means not obedity; Nature knows nothing of mercy; To pray is to accept defeat; POWER PISSES ON THE WEAK"

its so obvious what hes talking about to me it actually brough a tear to my eye, no joke ahhaha. read the lyrics as you listen to it. its inspiring as fuck.

  • @DhanKOTB ha yeah that's pretty much what i got from it. everyone seems to think it's satanic but i don't really think that's the point. but yeah it's cool cuz that's pretty much exactly how i look at things in life too, so it's nice to see i'm not the only one. ha these guys are brilliant.

  • @VersusTheAir haha, enjoy being one of the 8% that do think like this, dude. Satanism pretty much says all of what I typed before too anyway, the only reason it's seen as 'evil' is cos the Church didn't want people to become self sufficent, as that would take away their control, so instead they moved the Source from inside of us all, to a fatherly figure that we have to beg forgiveness from (the devil doesnt exist) "nature knows not of mercy" "to pray is to accept defeat" "beggar o

  • @VersusTheAir -n a bitches leash". I had the pleasure of meeting him after one of his sets a few months ago, and I shared a 10s with him and Zach Hill (he did the drumming for Wavves too, one of my favourite bands). He's like the most polite guy ever, aha, said thanks and shook my hand and everything haha.

  • @DhanKOTB ahhhh that's so cool, i'm hella jealous, no pun intended. i've always wanted to have a convo with them. do you have any idea why they are so private? like besides zach, the vocalist and the dj or whatever never give out much info or do interviews or anything. it's kinda eerie, i don't know if it's part of some long term act they're working on or if they just are that nonchellant about everything. and i see what you mean about the satanism stuff, that makes perfect sense

  • @VersusTheAir hahahah. don't know em enough to know why, aha, but he totally wasn't how i expected him to be, if you get me. You can tell he's intelligent as shit and knows what he doing. Thats what I derived from his quiet/politeness I guess but you can tell that from his lyrics anyway, ha

  • Manson is sampled

  • This song talking about the elite group who owns all currency and military groups

  • @greenbrad182 not necessary, its about a lot more than that too

  • anyone know what the voice sample at the beginning is from?

  • @FredaWeekly sounds like Jerry Reed to me (look up Guitar Man).

  • @FredaWeekly @234dragoman CHARLES MANSON

  • @FredaWeekly sample at the beginning is from Dora the Explorer

  • @VersusTheAir NO IS A CHARLES MAMSON INTERVIEW

  • @evylyo85 Mamson?

  • this shit is great, nothing like it

  • raps finally getting some originality shoved back into it

  • i don't really remember how i started listening to Death Grips, but i can't get enough of it now.can anyone tell me about more bands with similar sound?this is quite unique, best release this year in my opinion.

  • @serjdd have you heard of Milanese its a bit different but might be your vibe.

  • interesting. cool lyrics.

  • lol this is seriously the rap equivalent to a bad acid trip

  • This.... this is true Hip Hop.

  • "i roll the nickels... the game is mine! i deal the cards..."

why do crazy people always have the best quotes

  • I would do anything to have my videos I'm about to be put up editted like this crazy shit. Just a big mindfuck. I would pay for it.

  • I've seen a lot of comparisons to Tyler the Creator...this reminds me more of Saul Williams (which is a way better comparison, in my opinion).

  • I would love to see this band play a church gig

  • also, that pizza_jawnson guy is a giant troll.

  • the guy from Age Sixteen? LOL that's too funny.

  • Greatest thing to happen to Hip-hop in twenty years all I gotta say.

  • @dudewutyeah Not 20, definitely 10 though.

  • @dudewutyeah You're even more cliche than the mainstream that you're trying to condemn. So close-minded..

  • @hurensohnadolf

How? I know there's good hip-hop out there no doubt I'm just saying in my opinion this is the best, I also never said the mainstream fag

  • @hurensohnadolf Or maybe he just really likes Death Grips. A bunch of people saying that mainstream music sucks isn't being cliche unless they don't actually think and understand why it sucks. I understand your point, but I sorta doubt there'd be any posers like that listening to Death Grips.

  • <3 Pure Amazing !!

  • When I first heard this I thought the beginning was George W. Bush talking.

  • fucking tune

  • No es para mi

  • SEIZE IT

  • BEAT IT

  • @stschil I was there man. shit was CRAZZZZZZYYYY

  • Just caught these guys at a FUN FUN FUN after show in Austin....FUKCING SIIIIIIIIICK

  • great song, and such cool remarks made on the comments section, congrats people haha

  • "TO PRAY IS TO ACCEPT DEFEAT"

  • @Bulldog22031 POWER PISSES ON THE WEAK

  • His original band, Age Sixteen, was one of the best modern screamo bands reminiscent of the original 90's wave. This too, this is fucking awesome. Who knew he had it in him?

  • @Tofu00 So this is definitely the dude from Age Sixteen? I thought that was just a rumor.

  • Music to botch an autopsy to.

  • Comment removed

  • @KRAZYFATWANKER There is a remix where you can hear it better, Beware (Yawning Boy Remixxx) from Sewer Greats, Volume III. You are welcome.

  • Looks like a skinny Rick Ross.

  • I just noticed that thing in the background is a tree branch. I thought it was a maimed wing, like some kind of mutilated Sephirot.

  • bad acid trip. fucking love it

  • use 240p... it looks nastier.. I love it.

  • Who would have thought Kimbo Slice could rap?

  • This is fucking incredible, and I usually only listen to rock/techno type music. This is the best abstract rap group/collective/whatever I've heard.

  • Fuckin' intense.

Not really what I'm into, but still a great song. Respect.

  • jump off a skyscraper building landing into infinite nothingness is what this feels like

  • If Kimbo Slice was a lyrical rapper on peyote

  • for those of you who dont know, that was a clip from an interview with Charles Manson.

  • This is like if Trick Daddy shot heroin into his balls!!! Holy shit...

  • best track off the mixtape

  • I run the underworld guy!!!

  • can't get enough of this shit!

  • Death Grips is my new favorite group: 2011 is a great year for hip hop. Next time your friend comes up and says "man rap isn't what it you used to be" yell bullshit, sit him down and put this on.

  • @rebreh1029 hell yea i feel ya on, death grips kinda grown on me

  • @rebreh1029 As if this is how rap used to be.

This has never been done before, actually. Rap isn't what it used to be. But not necessarily in a bad way.

  • the charles manson speech oddly made this a lil more dope lol

  • GODDAMN the lyrics to this are fucking epic. One of the best songs on an album with too many tracks to decide.

  • Favorite song by you guys!

  • Death Grips is above and beyond anything in underground rap right now

  • Best fucking song ever.

  • I AM THE BEAST I WORSHIP

  • he's like... a rappin' death witch doctor, sweet.... :D
