  • Keep pressing 3 lol

  • i saw this video in the listings and thought yes, thats what i was looking for, then he said he was on behalf of expert village

    My heart sank

  • actually if you put these videos together in the right order and watch them then it actually IS useful

  • Comment removed

  • please answer me!! do these kind of guitars(i mean homemade guitars) brake easily or don't last for a long time?

  • @mariosmnikolaou It depends on the materials you use, how well you build them and most importantly how you treat them. If you are using decent quality timber (not necessarily the best, but timber that has at least been seasoned and cut correctly), all your joints are snug and glued well and you look after your guitar (keep it stored at an appropriate temperature/humidity and avoid bashing it about) it should last forever.

  • Fuck the bandsaw I cut my entire Warbeast inspired body with a handheld jigsaw and it came up better than a bandsaw could do...

  • His Garage is a mess. I would not trust a messy garage guy to make my axe.

  • From 1:44-2:07 everything he said sounded sexual O.o

  • Thank You very much im going to build a rickenbacker copy bass!!!

  • 1:08 OH SHIT! lolol

  • drill, jigsaw, to build a body.

drill, jigsaw, router, to build a neck.

  • 0:01 to skip the add

  • @SuperHs1998

    by what standards ?

  • 'I will demonstrate the use of a template' Give up frank, give up.

  • "it cums up. through this hole. it will be centered." 2:50

  • 0:01 never go full retard

  • @PhuckHue2 What do you mean "you people" ?

  • @PhuckHue2 omg... dude... i almost died when i saw your comment i'm not sure why... ahhh tropical thunder... ahahahaha i'm dying

  • Its insane how that band saw to build and create amazing things is only 150 dollars, while a guitar made from said band saw can be 4000 dollars...

  • @KillingOptions

You don't just build a guitar with just a band saw. And when you buy a guitar, you pay for shipping of the guitar, workmanship, materials....

  • Whatever happened to whittling with a penknife

  • I'm sorry but, 500 parts of 2/3 minutes just talking and giving no practical presentation is hardly helpful. Furthermore, if you are looking for this kind of videos you are not a wood expert and don't have a wood shop, so, recommending 5000$ plus tools it's just idiotic!!

  • i have that same amp head

  • @delisle That sucks.

  • click 0:01 to skip add

  • @chroylikesfish Click 3:07 to skip video.

  • @RAREFORMDESIGNS

wow that was so funny that nobody laughed

  • dudes.., this show is gay in it's own way.., a very very very wrong way

    i fucking hate this show.

  • @TheVogelDude

for me that proposal is complete nonsens.

You need a small and a medium hand plane, a japan saw, a scraper

and a few chisel tools - a band saw *may* at least be nice to have

    access to.

  • you can get a good epiphone for that...not as fun tho i have to say...

  • I cant see!! Can I get rid of the writing?

  • @123argaet click on the [CC] icon in the botton of the video

  • @RUIuiuiuiui Legend Thank you!

  • @123argaet you're welcome mate

  • i spot a marshall mgshithundred in the back ground.

  • these are mostly basic tools, who doesnt know what a band saw is?>_>

  • F-B-I-For-Big-Idiots

  • @shadowskull1001 dude, grow up, he obviously knows more than you cause your watching his video

  • F-B-I For-Big-Idiots

  • Video Title. how to spend a load money that could have bought u a good guitar on tools to make a guitar that will probly turn out like crap

  • It would be good if you guys made complete videos, not two minute segments

  • Go to hell

  • would a power saw work as well for cutting out the design??? and im thinking about making a guitar this summer. but im not sure what kind of design. im thinking of making james hetfield's ken lawrence guitar. but im not sure. any suggestions?

  • why does this have subtitles/captions? like a deaf person is really going to make a guitar...

  • @ProudToWasteYourTime subtitles are for people who might not be native english talkers, idiot...

do you really that everybody on earth speaks english?

you cant even imagine people from other nations watching this, can you?

  • @hellheat chill out.

  • @ProudToWasteYourTime it looks like I have "a little" over reacted... :)) twas a good joke tho! why the hell did I do that?

    sorry mate...

  • The video doesnt show if his tutorial works, doesnt show the guitar being built,he almost talked about the function of the pieces

  • @planeviewer This is just in preparation so you know what can of basic tools you'll need I find it very informative.

  • I liked the video

  • is this make a guitar or how to make love to the itms in your shed

  • Hmm,I guess this helps people who want to make their own guitars, but really, how long is it since he last used some of this equipment?

look at 2:51 ,full of spider web, insects, wood pices and dust O-O

His equipment might not be in the best condition, but what he says makes sence

  • not worth the 30 second wait of bullshit advertising... youtube would be better off without expert village

  • expert village sukx

  • looks like george lucas lol

  • @randyeffa he does, doesn't he

  • the guys just tryin to help, quit whinning

  • yay i know what im doing for GCSE RMT ;)

  • cheap disposable chinese tools=cheap guitars.

there's a guy who made an entire guitar with a swiss army knife. it's absurd to say these cheapo electrical tools are "required" to build a guitar. instruments have been around a little longer than the humans' knowledge of harnessing electrical energy.

  • I'm sad for you man...

  • not electric guitars, though.

  • ...so when does he actualy build a guitar..

He never does, not in one episode...

  • There's not a shred of info on the net about "FBI Guitars". This guys bio says he builds for a "closed circle" of musicians. IE HIMSELF and his SON! I think FBI guitars was created as a fictional entity by this dude to get youtube hits and sponsors to pay him. I doubt he's ever built a guitar in his life. Everything he says comes out of Dan Erlewine's book.

  • NEVER listen to someone that has a Marshall MG amp, especially if its a halfstack.

  • why?

  • Hahahahahahahaha Even though I have no opinion about these amp's,your comment is hilarious.

  • He said "Frank Popo" instead of "Frank Pope" .

    ROFL .

  • He said Frank pope OF FBI guitars....

  • where do you get the band saw? i mean if you dont want to buy one

  • Cleavland, is that you?

  • Naaa....Frank Popo of the FBI..not so much of a family guy.

  • Its Frank Pope and glad you guys got a laugh....dropped 21 pounds since these...by the way, you can get Gibson grade mahogany from exotic hardwoods in jersey...probably start with basswood...easy to carve and cheap

  • good thing i got hook ups. I got a friend with a big ass work shop. I got a friend who owns a lumber mill. I got a friend who knows how to do all this stuff. And i got the skills (Not saying im good, just slightly obove average maybe)

  • the reason your homemade guitar wont come close to the ones you can buy from high end retailers like taylor, martin, gibson, etc. is because of the wood. Now im no expert but it seems like rich rosewood and mahogany is rather hard to just buy, so you probably will make your first guitar from balsa wood. Unless you know someone who will cut down a rosewood tree for you to make one guitar.

  • but just think...you will have a badass guitar. nobody else in the world will have one exactly like yours. everyone at my highschool has a fender, but i have made a homemade flamebody. soo yea. just bragging and show off rights.

  • You can just go to lumber yard or a hardwood dealer.

  • and experience. you dont kick out top quality stuff the first time. one should fully expect a LOT off failure before making anything that is beautiful.

artists throw out a lot of half done stuff to get that one piece that is just right.

  • I actually cut out my guitar with a router.

  • i learn all this in shop at my school

  • i have the same amp in the background = )

  • Actually building a guitar from scratch is something most guys do once. For very good reason: it's a bunch of work and hassle, and chances are you won't come anywhere close to the quality you can find in production guitars. I recommend looking into bodies and necks from a place like Warmoth first. You'll save yourself a bunch of trouble.

  • Seem like a cnc router would be a lot quicker and more accurate.

  • and expensive, you fucking retard.

  • A bit late to the party, but try a trophy or sign shop. You are looking for the stuff they use to make nametags out of. Dozens of colors, and you can use a router on it for your own designs that won't wear off.

  • 1:09 xD

  • it'll come out nice because of swamp ash's grain and plus it is wood shop after all. i got the idea from this pickguard i saw on ebay from this seller...i think his name is Garden of Eden. he sells all wooden guitar accesories which i thought was pretty cool

  • make it out of a thin sheet of ash and stain it, they look really nice.

  • Im making one in wood shop at school. Teachers like "Make what ever you want"

  • Haha i'm making electric guitar too. :)

  • Nice! Good luck! I'll try to build one myself aswell! :D

  • can u put video comments on ur videos to the next part

  • im startingf to make my own now too

  • expert village saved my life!

  • FBI GUITARS? NOW IVE HEARD THAT TOO

  • expert village sucks man

  • @nicholasbang I <3 Them Dude They gave me the greatest tuts

  • @nicholasbang then why are you watching the video? to post a comment?

  • spose instead of using a ban saw, you could use a jig-saw?

  • you could use a jig saw, but the only bad thing is you don't have that much control

  • that dude blues!!!!!!!!!!!

  • could this be applied to building your own bass? with the correct measurements needed of course

  • it's the same thing

  • you can buy a good guitar, epiphone, instead of buying all that shit

  • haha i built my first guitar with a hack saw, a drill, a chisel, a knife, deck plane, and wood files....

  • That's what I'm talking about! Minimal!

  • oh and elbow grease.... my arms came out like poppye!

  • LOL!!! By the time you're done, you can barely lift your legs, but you can pick up and toss a dump truck with ease!!!

  • Sure, but there comes a time for some, including myself, where you want a guitar that reflects your individual tastes and addresses your own needs rather than something that's prefabricated. "Buying all that shit" is how we accomplish it. You don't like it? Then enjoy your Epiphone!

  • epiphones are good beginner guitars

you have to learn what fits your own needs before making a guitar first i think

  • epiphone is the definition of shit, my friend, not a real Gibson but an okay entry level guitar

  • great vid but it will cost you less to buy a guitar, in radioshack they sometimes sell guitars for about $50.00

with whammy bar, im not saying that the videos won't work, but you need some experience to do this

  • if the guitar is less then 500 dollars its probably pretty bad.

  • no not really i have played and owned plenty of guitars under 500 and all were great, in most cases yeah you do get what you pay for but not in all cases

  • sure.... for example eastwood hiflyer is a great guitar and costs around 400

  • And you get experience......by doing this.

  • is it posible to use jigsaw instead of bandsaw?

  • yup, as long as your blade is long enough.

  • kinzo bandsaws suck monkeybals, i bought it for 80 euros, i have a mahogany body, it costs 2 bands per body, because the snap, and i spins so nice that you always burn the wood. now i have a scheppach. that rules

  • Im building a acoustic guitar at my school for a project :D

  • " Delta " makes good bandsaws plus theyre cheap.

  • great vid, but some stuff i dont see the need for. ive got a dremmel and i used that for some routing on my last project and it worked great. i still may look into it as im thinking about doing projects for friends.

  • All i did was buy a cheap one at a yard sale and then asked around for a neck then found some guts at my buddys place. total cost 50$ and i didnt buy a stupid band saw

  • That's not building a guitar. That is putting a bunch of parts together. FrankinGuitar. But it's the noise that counts. If it sounds good, PLAY IT LOUD!

  • One of the first projects I ever completed was put together from burned parts from a pawn shop fire. We called it "The FrankenStrat"...looked like crap but I snagged some Gibson humbuckers from the fire so it sounded awesome.

  • I made a guitar the easy way: take a bunch of cheap, shitty, broken guitars from yard sales and from ebay, take the good parts from each, then slap them all together and see what happens! It looks like a piece of junk you would find in a dumpster, but is sounds awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How much guitars did you use to make that one guitar?

  • Can you just go to a woodcutting shop place and can they do most of this or all of this for you?

  • wheres the fun in that?

  • is there any way i can do dis without the bansaw

  • is there any way i can do dis without the bansaw

  • I have used a jigsaw in the past although it is much better to use a band saw because the cut is straighter and cleaner.

  • could use a hacksaw, only cost 5$, but will take a good long while to cut out stuff.

  • 'band' saw
