@theminimumdog I invite you readers out there to consider this: Notice how TMD says "this definition is correct" & points to one created to ensure the Church fits into its darkness. That's much like playing poker with your hands tied behind your back & your opponent deals; plays his cards & yours; places your bets; wins; grabs the pot; & runs out the door gloating & boasting in the pride of his spoils, pointing backward exclaiming, "He really shouldn't play poker; he's not very good at it"
@theminimumdog Like I said, you won't find her definition of cult in Google dictionaries or in Webster. It appears to me that these "theologians" went at it backwards to insure that the definition they create will fit the word So, they have apparently located the beliefs to which they disagree, wrapped them up all nice and neat, and then they decided to put the word "Cult" in front of it. And then to top it all off...TMD adds "a cult of Christianity." Sounds just a bit TOO convenient.
Wow, I find it hard to believe her story. Young children sing of Jesus all the time, grace is understood, the Bible is studied, there is a hell, coke is not prohibited, so I'm not sure which church she was attending.
Yeh. I've posted a 30-45min video exposing Mormon Church Cult and there are many negative comments from Mormons who say its not true - even though the mormon scriptures declare and even a video footage was shown of the Mormon Temple in Utah. Even exposing the lie that God The Father had many wives and babies, and that Lucifer was Jesus' brother - the planet Kolab and so on. Yet in the face of truth they are all in denial with cusses and swearing. Same with muslims when I quote the Surah's.
"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned," (Journal of Discourses, vol. 3, p. 266). Also, "The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy," (Journal of Discourses, vol. 11, p. 269). How can mormons get to be gods if they disobey their prophets warning ? Brigham wanted to kill blacks who mixed witth whites too
Interesting...Google - "define:cult", & you will not find her definition. (A cult, generally, is a form of religion, worship or belief toward a person, idea, movement or work.) Sounds like early christianity to me. She states (or creates) a definition that "fits" LDS beliefs, tailors it to be bad, then accuses Mormonism of being a cult. I like this definition from the internet: "A cult is a church down the street from your church." Anon In other words, she doesn't agree, ergo "they" are bad.
"Evangelical Christians" are no basis. They, too, are rife with error. They were wise to follow Luther to reject the false teachings of the Bishop of Rome but unwise to throw out all of Tradition simply because the Vatican Church tainted it. Rather, they should have looked at it piece by piece, keeping that which is good.
IF you are looking into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints be sure to ask a active member not a non member or someone who is having problems at this time in their lives . If you want to know about the Baptist Church go to their site . If you want to learn about us ask us. And ask yourself about the fruit you see from us.

@theminimumdog Here is a more accurate definition of CULT --- The word cult pejoratively refers to a group whose beliefs or practices are considered abnormal or bizarre.[1] The word originally denoted a system of ritual practices. Dont you think that some people would find both the entire Christian and Muslim faith, well pretty much all religions to fit the definition of CULT perfectly. Lets see I find the whole symbolic cannibalism bizarre, Drink this it is my blood, eat this its my flesh
@par lets not forget Cult like activities and things - ashes on the head, fasting, denying your self anything (like now, lent),making any of the blood sacrifices, Believing just plan silly stories as factual,Praying( the thought that you can talk to a god inside your head and he might just change the way something is because you are asking him to suspend every physical law that he put into effect), belief in exorcisms, demons, miracles ( also the suspension of all natural laws)Babtism, Etc,etc
Good Ms. Shelly Bauer, you began to use logic and critical thinking. Keep going. If you keep using your mind the entire bible will be shown for the ridiculous, superstitious book written by common man that it is. Begin to look into how the bible was spread depending on who won what wars and depending on how immigrants spread. Look into all the contradictions, the just plain silly stories and explanations for them. Keep searching and find the truth. That the HOLY BABBLE is FICTION. Use your mind.
I left that cult after 50 yrs. of brainwashing and emotional bondage. The price I am paying for it? My son is shunning me because his dad, my ex (anti-Mormon himself), helps him to spite me, and the church bishopric encourages it all, seeing the opportunity to keep a member. They are teaching him to go against his mothers wishes and are putting me down, calling me apostate. So much for letting others worship as they choose. LEAVE MY CHILDREN ALONE! I DO NOT WANT THEM IN YOUR CULT OR MISSION 4 U!
@MrFitzwilly The book of Mormon, "most correct book on earth"? No evidence to support. No archeological evidence to support. No witnesses to support it. The Bible stand alone as the only true source for man's redemption. Evidence is everywhere. You are so deceived and it is so sad to see so many like you be lead astray by manmade doctrines and demonic influence. OPEN YOUR EYES!!!
@MrFitzwilly Fight against the truth? Joseph Smith's own words..."We have imagined that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil so that you may see...He was once a man like you and me....Here then is eternal life...you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves...the same as all Gods have done before you...." This is the truth??? ATotally opposite from what the Scriptures teach!!! You have got to be kidding!!!!!!!
@theminimumdog I wouldn't imagine mormonism any where close to Christianity since Christianity is "Monotheism" and mormonism is "henotheism" they both have terms... however one is in disguised as the other and is extremely deceptive. so in a why I would agree but also disagree completely when defining both.
So when you die, how do you spend eternity? What does Satan look like? Are gays going to heaven. Is there gay sex there? Can one do evil in heaven. If not why? If so, what happens? Is there pornography in heaven? Why or why not. If a man is evil but saved here on this earth, what stops him from doing evil in heaven? Does he still have his free will to continue and saved if he's doing it now? If he can't, who stops him and what are the consequences? Can a man go to heaven then hell? Why?
@LDStothecore History says different ... Glad you follow Jesus ... Why do you even need Joseph? ... ANY relationship with Jesus the Christ is One On One with no intermediaries ... Why do you need J Smith? ... I found out that I didn't need the Pope .. I go straight to Jesus ... If you think that J Smith added anything to what Jesus already did then rethink it ... PLEASE
@LDStothecore We are all called by God to serve Him ... Each of us has a "Calling" ... Joseph Smith was called but he failed .. J Smith went for the dark side sweetie and anyone who denies that or refuses to see that is doing so as a willful act ... You made your choice about who you would follow and you will have to answer for that choice ... Even though I think you are dramatically and tragically wrong the choice is still yours.
Just for the record, I am not a gay man. I would appreciate answer to my 2 questions please. Either a yes nor no. That will be sufficient. 1. Can a practicing homosexual who likes to "party" go to heaven? 2. Since I accepted Jesus back in '69 and am currently an practicing Mormon, am I still "SAVED" thus guaranteed life with Jesus in the next world? Once again, "Yes" or "No" please. Thank you!

@LDStothecore J Smith changed the story several times depending upon whom he was talking to .. yet he claimed that ALL of his revelations were God uttered ... that leads to a question: Did God change the foundational and fundimental events that J Smith based all of his Theology on or did J Smith change them to suit Political and Cultural changes as people started to pin him down about the fundimentals of his revelations? ... Only one case can be true ... at best it makes J Smith look suspicious.
@loganhistorian I wanted to add that you are not the ONLY Christian homosexual ... you are not the only Christian homosexual that I personally know ... All of the various restrictions of the Mosiac Law were completed in Jesus ... He totally fulfilled ALL the requirements ... Homosexuality was concidered an "Abomination" in the OT but so was walking farther than 1/3 of a mile on the Sabbath ... just ignore Fred Phelps and love Jesus.

@loganhistorian The concept of "Whoever" ~ Salvation is rooted in the grace of God. "For bankrupt sinners with no ground of their own upon which to stand, with nothing of their own upon which to stand, with nothing of their own to hold up to God worthy of reward, it is their only hope, but it is their sufficient hope." ~Christian theologian Frank Stagg~ ... Once you have accepted the sacificial death of Jesus as payment for your sins you are no longer in charge of your Eternity ... Jesus is.
@LDStothecore J Smith Jr eventually realized that the Angel (Moroni) story had possible negative connotations so he changed the story of the first vision 10 times ... You do the research.
Well, she's part way there. Now to get free of Christianity and religion altogether! Religion means you must turn off your curious mind, be careful not to ask the wrong questions, learn to not notice the glaring contradictions and compromises. Nobody should have to go through life with their mind shut half off on purpose. There is no Imaginary Friend. Take responsibility for your life! Get all the education you can, from the best sources you can find! Be free!
@Imaginefree69 I constantly question the Bible and my faith and the concepts presented in Christianity .. God insists that we think for ourselves .. God insists that we make the choice for ourselves .. Jesus said He would spew the "Lukewarm" out of His mouth .. By questioning, by thinking, by frequently looking deeper Faith grows .. God does not want robots .. God does not want semi-commited slaves .. God wants fully commited believers .. Just for the record: a closed mind will never be free.
@LDStothecore Satan is an angel of Light. Evil always comes dressed for the party and always hides its evil in seemingly good deeds, and always proclaims its own virtue.
So is homosexuality OK in your new Christian Faith? If so, why? Now be careful with this answer, your going to be ticking of the gays who say they are Christian! By all means Shelly.....Please state your views boldly please! Open up the can of worms!
@loganhistorian Allow me a chance, as a Christian, to answer the question simply: God loves homosexuals (period, the discussion could end here) >>> John 3:16 (yeah, I know you've heard it before) "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" ... are homosexuals a part of WHOEVER? ... I'm pretty sure they are.
The Morman Church was founded by a man that had many wives and lied about it, Made many false profecies, and was responsible for many deaths. The morman church is a fear based religion where its members are told that questioning the doctrine that they are given is "Going astray."
The very bible itself that the mormans claim to follow says that the way to tell if a profet is true is to test them. Test Joseph Smith's profecies, test other Book of Morman profets and you will see they are wrong, Then test the Bibles and see for yourself. I am not a "Morman Hater," Just want people to be informed. Read the book "One Nation Under Gods," If you really want facts. Sandra Tanner is in it and if you didnt know that is the great grandchild of Brigham Young. God Bless!!
The fact that you cannot understand how someone could ever find fault with your perfect church is proof in and of itself that you have never tested the veracity of the Mormon church.
In effect what you are saying is that the church Jesus founded failed, but the church Joseph Smith founded has no possibility of being untrue.
@thesignsoflife7 I certainly understand how someone would find fault; it is because they refuse to look for anything else. Let's "understand" one thing perfectly clear. Joseph Smith did not "found" the church. Jesus Christ, the One & Only, Living Messiah, King of King, & Lord of Lords founded it. He is the Chief Cornerstone of it, with a foundation of Prophets and Apostles, the SAME as in the primitive church-His Bride-that He previously founded & organized & will come to redeem from the world.
In the Christian faith, John is not a cornerstone. His gospel could be entirely removed and the truth of Jesus would remain. Same for any individual in the Bible except one: Jesus.
In Mormonism, the cornerstone is Smith. Without him you have nothing whatsoever.
It is most certainly NOT the same as the primitive church at all. Stop trying to shoehorn Mormonism into history, it doesn't fit.
Well then Judaism must be truer than mormonism, because people have gone to murderous lengths to destroy the Jewish people. Catholicism must also be truer than mormonism, because the history of anti-catholicism is way longer than the history of anti-mormonism. In fact even in mormon temples, they use to preach against the Catholic church. You are using faulty logic, persecution isn't a sign that your theology is true or untrue. It's simply a sign that some people don't like you!! that's all.
No the LDS do not believe that Jesus Christ is a warrior. The Jews were hoping for a liberator and when Christ came to the earth the first time, he was meek and mild. He was a "spiritual deliverer" but the Jews were hoping for a military leader.
When Christ returns, it isn't gonna be pretty!
He has vowed to bring destruction upon the wicked and so forth. I encourage you to get into Revelations and you're welcome to ask me questions. I can help u find stuff in the Bible.
Actually the origin of the word religion is greek and what it means is what binds you or what you are tied to. So no matter what your beliefs, you are binded to them, rather they be Christian, judiasm, mormonism, buddism, Islam, etc. and even Atheism. . There is nothing you can do to not be a part of your beliefs bc you will always be bound to what you believe.
Instead of sitting there finding fault with another Christian's beleif, how about joining them in the knowledge that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Reedemer? I have friends who are of other Christian faiths and instead of argueing who is right and wrong, we share with eachother our knowledge and testimony of Christ and rejoice together in Him. Is this what Christ was talking about when He taught in the Bible to love our fellowmen?
6. Former members often relate the same stories of abuse and reflect a similar pattern of grievances.
7. There are records, books, news articles, or television programs that document the abuses of the group/leader.
8. Followers feel they can never be "good enough".
9. The group/leader is always right.
10. The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.
You just showed everyone what a complete brainwashed idiot you are. What would being gay have to do with anything? I never said I was gay -you made that up. Not that it's any of your damn business, but I happen to be straight. I have been very happily married now for 22 years and have grown children in college. As for your reference to my mentality, you don't know the first thing about me. You know nothing & your brainwashing has embittered you bud. I'm through with you now. Bye.
So, let me get this straight. You spend your time watching anti-mormon vid's as a way of letting go your "resentment and pain"? Or is this your idea of "accountability"? I find it ironic that instead of confronting the LDS Corporation (Woops! I meant "Church") you ignore the facts I posted below and resort to asking if I'm gay. Weak shit maynard.
-Reasoning? Yeah, I'll admit it... I like reasoning.
-Take it "like a man" you say. Who should I "take it" from? Your prophet? And what exactly am I supposed to "take"? (I think that line was particularly funny since Mormon men are not allowed to think for themselves.)
-As far as not wanting to be a "Saint" - I had no choice... I was born into that nutty world. I have plenty of inside stories that I need not explain to you that contributed to my waking up.
- As for denial, I have one for you. Try denying this: Joseph was a polygamist /Joseph used a "seer-stone" placed in his hat to translate the BOM/ The "first-vision" was not recorded until 1832 & listed Joseph as being visited by an angel forgiving him of his sins - it was consequently revised a total of 3 times until the final story in 1848/ I could go on & on & on. By the way, these are not "anti-mormon" views, they come from the churches own records and you can find this all out quite easily.
-Finally, you say denial will lead to my DESTRUCTION! Boo! Scream! Run! I'm sooo scared. I could care less for the judgement of any man. I'm agnostic and have never been happier.
Now, go get some help. I will help you with getting free if you like...

Try this Mormons.... read "No Man Knows My History" by Fawn Brody (one of the most respected historians ever in the United States) and see what you don't know. By the way - she uses the LDS Church's own historical documents as her footnotes. I think you will be shocked to learn what the church has chosen not to teach you. Milk before meat right?! HAhaaa! Just try reading that book and see what you think.
Isaiah 43:10 says "...Before Me there was no God formed Nor shall there be after me" Cross reference that with Isaiah 44:6; 45:18 (many more not listed) Joseph Smith and Brigham Young both taught that we can become gods. They were not telling the truth. And if you die believing this you will go to the very hell that you do not believe in. I beg all of you by the mercies of God to reject Mormonism and come to the truth. If anyone would like to know more about the truth let me know.
MANY LDS leaders have said awful things, and taught false doctrine. I found the temple cold and not of God. I tried for years to make sence of this bologna.
Lets not talk about the temple changes in 1990 and 2005. Many lies are told to LDS youth and potential converts. Mormonism is a CULT, thru and thru.
It is too bad that folks watching this video did not get to see the message you sent me. They would know that youare nothing more than a lowlife with a very small I.Q, and an even smaller mastery of the English language. You have marginalized yourself by your foul language and knee jerk response. Thank you
Myway, read the response you just gave. You are guilty of the same thing that you say others posting on this video are doing to you. Sounds like the special pleading logical fallacy to me.
On the contrary. I do not judge other faiths. you do not like the LDS faith... fine look elsewheres, but do not set around and stand in judgement of my Church. Besides comments were directed at TrippyNDN, who has quite the potty mouth as he demonstrated by messaging me. And yet he gets on here and judges and talks bad about the LDS Church.
Granted, TrippyNDN may have said derogatory things, but not every Christian is like that. I always make it a point to question the doctrine but NEVER attack or insult the person who believes it. I'm more civil; some not as much. But, you say he's judging the church. Looks like you're also judging him for judging the church. So, what's the difference? You're both judging.
The most vile and gross thing a man can do is attack anothers faith. I am not sure which Church this lady went to . At one point she states that on "Wednesday's Chatachism". I belive that is from the Catholic Church. She is very confused.
You go girl for getting out of that cult. Mormon people are nice, but don't be fooled by their cult. They are a cult. They believe good works get you to heaven and they also believe that Joepsh Smith is a prophet. Joepsh Smith is a false prophet a symbol of Satan and Satan trying to take over this world. The Trinity is the way and the only way you get to heaven is through accepting Jesus as your lord and savior and asking forgiveness of your sins. Don't let the mormon cult fool you!!!!!!!!
Bible is taught everywhere Shelly, frm primary to yw. Pray and ponder and having faith is all you need. Dont blame the church, youve been taught of atonement of Christ and that wasit
Of course it is only 1 of 4 books of doctrine(Bible, book of mormon, pearl of great price, book of abraham), and is the least important to the lds as they claim that is is not translated correctly to begin with.
I just typed some ADDED COMMENTARY to the right to address a number of posts that have gotten deleted because they are attacking Shelly's personal character. You attack her character; your posts will get deleted.
Pt 1 of 4: In the beloved (Christ) I am accepted by God the Father unconditionally, which also means that I am loved unconditionally by God the Father in the beloved (Christ). Yet a word of sobering caution needs to added to this amazing truth. God expects those who are loved unconditionally in Christ to OBEY Him.
Pt 2 of 4: Believing spiritual deception is one thing. Passing ALONG our spiritual deception to OTHERS as though it is uncontested truth - uncontested fact - can send us straight to hell! If there is one thing that angers God more than anything else we can do in this life ... it is passing along our spiritual deception to others as though it is truth.
Pt 3 of 4: Most all of us have been spiritually deceived at one time or another as followers of God, just like the Apostle Paul once was, but if we don't periodically examine what we believe and are teaching others, and show a willingness to God to admit that we were wrong in what we believed and have been passing along to others ... God's unconditional love and acceptance toward us can be thrown right out the window, so to speak.
Pt 4 of 4: The most serious sin/s a person can commit is to pass their spiritual deception along to others, and refuse to see it as error. (See: Ephesians 1:6 for scriptural basis).
Remember what Christ said, Don't Judge one another, if you do you can expect to be Judge on Judgment day. Instead Love one another with all your heart might and soul. I have so much Love for you. This is why I am so blessed and I thank Christ for what he has done for us all if we can just strive to do better every day. Much Love.
Tim: Of course you are wise enough to realize what Jesus was talking about, surely. He certainly WASN'T talking about discerning Truth from disception. Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit certainly DOES want His true disciples to discern Satan's doings; otherwise how would we discern "false prophets" - "wolves in sheep's clothing"? Now anyone who confuses "judgment" from "discernment" -- well ... there is a huge gulf of misunderstanding in between. Pt 1 of 2
I am so happy to be a Latter day saint. To have been chosen by Christ is a blessing. I find is so sad that there are so many people judging the church. It is not about who is wrong or right. It is about humbling yourself and asking God if its true. It is so sad when I see the many posts that people clearly don't know what the church is about.
Now regarding your statement: "It's not about being right or wrong. It's about asking God if it's true?" I read the Book of Mormon - prayed, and the Holy Spirit told me to run as far and fast as I could from deception. I've been running every since, and trying to help as many as I can to escape deception such as you propogate. Yep - I love you, but not your demonic spiritual darkness. Weigh careful your future posts. You weigh in the balances.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Try humbling yourself and reading the BOM again. God will only answer those who truly desire to know the truth and have love in there hearts. I love you brother, bashing is not the answer.
And It was Jesus who was Killed not god, Again there is NO valid scriptural basis for the trinity. There was no Trinitarian doctrine prior to 400 ad, It was added by man, specifically warned against by the bible
When was the last time you READ Chapter 1 in the Book of John? Many other scriptures state that Jesus Christ WAS and IS God, (as IS the Father; as IS the Holy Spirit). However - Here is ONE scripture you may want to diligently pray about in 1 Timothy 3:16: "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh; (I'll stop right there. We talking in this scripture about Buddha, Mohammed, Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny ... or perhaps if you read the full text: JESUS!?
Christ clearly said that you had to maintain your status with good works and maintaining gods standard, NOWHERE does it say you are saved by just believing, you have been misled, And J smith called himself a prophet, you can put whatever spin on it you like, J smith copied large sections of the BOM over, They did not speak in elizabethan english, Mormonism i s a tool of satan
We're saved by God's GRACE because GOD died for us (paid the penalty for our sins) on the Cross. That's what we are to BELIEVE. BELIEVING that Truth is what saves us, AND ... as we do "good works", that is the visible evidence that we are TRULY disciples of the REAL Jesus Christ - GOD. You can throw out being saved by our "good works" by the thief on the Cross who had NO TIME to do "good works", other than plead for mercy before Jesus died. Jesus assured him he'd be in Paradise with Him.
True Christians are NOT saved by "good works." (They are saved by BELIEVING that none other than God HIMSELF took full penalty for their sins by dying for them on the cross. It was a work of God's grace, and we simply accept it as fact. Mormons don't teach God HIMSELF died for our sins). BUT - True Christians are saved to DO "good works." Part of doing "good works" is to EXPOSE false truth - expose religious deception, which is what this video is helping do.
Mormons teach Jesus Christ was/is: "God's Son" or "The Son of God" or "The Christ" or "Christ" ... but when you try to point them to Biblical scripture where it says that Jesus Christ ALWAYS WAS and IS fully GOD -- fully One of the Persons of the eternal triune Godhead - they attempt to refute that FACT. That makes them a cult; not to mention all the other deception they teach. Any ("church") denying that Jesus Christ WAS and IS fully God - WATCH OUT!
Gods law clearly warned us that false prophets would come after christs death and to keep on the watch for them because they will mislead us, Any prophet who came after christs death is a false prophet, this includes J Smith. They are all about emotion and not logic.
For some clarification: The role of the "Prophet" changed somewhat after Jesus assended back to heaven. In the New Covenant, you have several references to prophets on the scene. And as you say, we are given warnings about false prophets who will rise up as well. Apostle Peter functioned as a New Covenant "Prophet", as did the Apostle Paul, and many other pillars of the Church. True Prophets today don't care to be called that. They just humbly function in the grace God has given them.
A P.S. to my last post. Card carrying "Prophets" are ones I greatly RUN FROM! They are granted approval by their fans to "prophesy" all sorts of erroneous things, yet are never held in account for being wrong. Many of them are even being used of Satan to help "shipwreck people's faith". True prophets of today realize the sobering standards God held the Old Testament prophets to, and thus anyone functioning in the church today as a true prophet would rather the TITLE be omitted from them.
. We can only help those who humble themselves and except God's love and truly seek the truth. Love One another, I can't believe this is so hard for so many people to do. Instead they attack what other people believe and how sad it will be on Judgment day, when they have to answer to God for all the persecution of those who truly Love God . Love one another. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen. Much Love
THANK YOU. Im so glad someone stands up against all this imbesil and ignorant behavioure on the you tube.Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please dont stop telling of liers and other "anti" & hater ppl. Also...please excuse my poor english skills,im from Norway and dont know any better, hehe.^^
I understand what she's talking about. I USED TO BE MORMON, dum-dum, armaggeddonflame.
The Mormons have persistantly changed their beliefs in order to continue to be accepted by society.
Their beliefs 50 yrs ago ARE NOT the same beliefs they have now.
Mormons are probably in alot more trouble than I previously thought. Satan himself told Eve she could become like God if she ate the fruit. Now the Mormons are telling people the same thing.
Videomission: I want to thank YOU and others who take the time to share clear revelation of God's Word (Truth) on this forum. God is using you MIGHTILY!!!!
All groups of people that get together on similar grounds on a regular basis could be considered a cult. here is a definition in merriam webster dictionary: great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book) ; especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad b: the object of such devotion c: a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion
I accepted Jesus as my Savior, I accept Him as the only way to Heaven. If that makes me a cultist, so be it! People are free to join, and free to leave, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as evidenced by this woman.
And if the "church" does not make it easy to leave ... you MAY want to re-read Ephesians 6:10-18 in allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal to you WHY the "church" makes it so difficult for you to leave. ANY religious group of people who make it difficult to leave their organization is NOT one Jesus Christ would have been apart of while on Earth, nor one He would be apart of NOW. If you've never heard it, Jesus was NOT into "church." He was into pleasing the Father, and He was into TRUTH.
Jesus was into TRUTH because the "father of lies" (Satan) was and IS into deceiving as many people as he can while he is still given the ability to do so prior to the return of our Savior. We can never TRULY have peace with God until we DEMAND to know TRUTH. Once we get serious about demanding to know Truth ... the Holy Spirit then becomes much more greatly motivated to REVEAL Truth from deception. Let's go to a Part 3; this is getting a bit interesting ...
Turn to the end of the Book of Mormon; it challenges the reader to pray and inquire from God IF the "record/book" is of God or not. If you TRULY want to know what Truth is ... why doesn't the Mormon "Church" rephrase the challenge to say: "If you question the Holy Spirit's authenticy of this book, ask God to reveal to you whether it is a tool Satan is seeking to deceive you by ... or not." Making THAtTchallenge shouldn't be threatening to the Mormon "church" - surely, now WOULD it?
Nah, being part of the mormon church makes you a cultist. One of the characteristics of a cult is teaching works, because works are needed in order for a cult to survive.
So here you claim to have accepted Christ as your savior, but yet you believe your works are what save you, yes or no? Jesus was your 'ressurector', while your works go on from there for salvation. Does that not make you your OWN savior?
Yes, I believe in lifting up those that need help, feeding and clothing the poor and the widows.
I think you're forgetting the most basic of Christ's teachings: love thy neighbour: and how do we show love? we serve and help others. Encouraging others to not help others doesn't sound like it comes from Christ.
And no, the only way I am saved is through Christ, but I don't believe in cheap grace. God needs you and I to lift up others. We are how God does most of his work and miracles.
That's a nice thought, which is fine, but the Bible I don't think says 'God needs us to lift up others'. The gospel will do that on its own. It does say we are to warn others of their impending doom, or the blood is on our hands.
Ezekiel 33:8
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
God needs us to help others. Again, you're encouraging me not to help others....that is the most unChristian thing I have ever heard and it actually is quite shocking to hear that come from someone that professes to follow Christ.
I said nothing about refusing to help others. There is plenty in the Bible regarding helping others. Even Jesus said by helping others you are helping him, and by refusing others, you are refusing him.
If what you thought I meant is the most un-Christian thing you've heard, then you need to get out more. Cults teaching blasphemies I think would rank much higher on the un-Christian meter.
Ok good: at least we have some common ground now. I'm glad to hear you don't discourage others from helping and lifting, and yes, nothing is more unChristian than forgetting about the poor and needy: that is the fruits of a true Christian.
I suspect when the Bible is referring to fruits, it is referring more to how you treat the word of God. If you treat it as the word of God and can't get enough of it, you are bearing good fruit. If you couldn't care less or teach blasphemies regarding the word, you are producing bad fruit.
I agree!! I can't get enough of the word of God and am grateful that he has provided us with writings of his ancient people in both ancient Israel and ancient America, and continues today with prophets and apostles.
Lol. It is my position to believe in the word of God that can prove itself, and not fiction presenting itself as the word of God. The word of God described the way Jesus left, and that he will return in the same way. Before he left, he told his disciples to preach the gospel to the world. I'm sorry the Bible is not enough for you.
"And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." —2nd Timothy 4:4
You avoided my question: it's quite simple: did Jesus have the power to visit other people or not? And if he did have the power, then who are you to dictate to whom Christ will directly preach?
I don't dictate nor assume anything. The word indicates Jesus did otherwise. I do not follow beliefs that contradict it. The question here isn't if Jesus had the power to preach elsewhere. God is all powerful and capable, but God will not contradict his own word. If the BOM could represent itself as truth instead of fables, then I would be one.
I'm glad to hear you believe Christ is capable of anything. Please point me to the verse in the Bible that states Christ will not visit and preach to ancient America.
52 down-voters are kidding themselves.

@Ezra1Jesus1Disciple Brigham Young said you are damned if you deny polygamy.

Begin to look into how the bible was spread depending on who won what wars and depending on how immigrants spread. Look into all the contradictions, the just plain silly stories and explanations for them. Keep searching and find the truth. That the HOLY BABBLE is FICTION. Use your mind.

Is there pornography in heaven? Why or why not. If a man is evil but saved here on this earth, what stops him from doing evil in heaven? Does he still have his free will to continue and saved if he's doing it now? If he can't, who stops him and what are the consequences? Can a man go to heaven then hell? Why?

Only one case can be true ... at best it makes J Smith look suspicious.

The fact that you cannot understand how someone could ever find fault with your perfect church is proof in and of itself that you have never tested the veracity of the Mormon church.
In effect what you are saying is that the church Jesus founded failed, but the church Joseph Smith founded has no possibility of being untrue.
Come to Jesus. Not Joseph Smith.
thesignsoflife7 2 years ago 7
@thesignsoflife7 I certainly understand how someone would find fault; it is because they refuse to look for anything else. Let's "understand" one thing perfectly clear. Joseph Smith did not "found" the church. Jesus Christ, the One & Only, Living Messiah, King of King, & Lord of Lords founded it. He is the Chief Cornerstone of it, with a foundation of Prophets and Apostles, the SAME as in the primitive church-His Bride-that He previously founded & organized & will come to redeem from the world.
batterdown 8 months ago 3
@batterdown
NO. Joseph Smith said he saw Jesus.
That's all you know.
You misunderstand 'cornerstone'.

It's simply a sign that some people don't like you!! that's all.

Thank you
myway43 2 years ago
Myway, read the response you just gave. You are guilty of the same thing that you say others posting on this video are doing to you. Sounds like the special pleading logical fallacy to me.
rodwyr 2 years ago
On the contrary. I do not judge other faiths. you do not like the LDS faith... fine look elsewheres, but do not set around and stand in judgement of my Church. Besides comments were directed at TrippyNDN, who has quite the potty mouth as he demonstrated by messaging me. And yet he gets on here and judges and talks bad about the LDS Church.
myway43 2 years ago
Granted, TrippyNDN may have said derogatory things, but not every Christian is like that. I always make it a point to question the doctrine but NEVER attack or insult the person who believes it. I'm more civil; some not as much. But, you say he's judging the church. Looks like you're also judging him for judging the church. So, what's the difference? You're both judging.

Don't even, you're in way over your head.

Don't let the mormon cult fool you!!!!!!!!

most people I've talked to dont even understand the concept of the trinity, yet they still belive it.

NormRasmussen2 2 years ago
Pt 3 of 4: Most all of us have been spiritually deceived at one time or another as followers of God, just like the Apostle Paul once was, but if we don't periodically examine what we believe and are teaching others, and show a willingness to God to admit that we were wrong in what we believed and have been passing along to others ... God's unconditional love and acceptance toward us can be thrown right out the window, so to speak.
NormRasmussen2 2 years ago

It is so sad when I see the many posts that people clearly don't know what the church is about.
tim4962 2 years ago
Now regarding your statement: "It's not about being right or wrong. It's about asking God if it's true?" I read the Book of Mormon - prayed, and the Holy Spirit told me to run as far and fast as I could from deception. I've been running every since, and trying to help as many as I can to escape deception such as you propogate. Yep - I love you, but not your demonic spiritual darkness. Weigh careful your future posts. You weigh in the balances.

NormRasmussen2 2 years ago
True Christians are NOT saved by "good works." (They are saved by BELIEVING that none other than God HIMSELF took full penalty for their sins by dying for them on the cross. It was a work of God's grace, and we simply accept it as fact. Mormons don't teach God HIMSELF died for our sins). BUT - True Christians are saved to DO "good works." Part of doing "good works" is to EXPOSE false truth - expose religious deception, which is what this video is helping do.
NormRasmussen2 2 years ago
Mormons teach Jesus Christ was/is: "God's Son" or "The Son of God" or "The Christ" or "Christ" ... but when you try to point them to Biblical scripture where it says that Jesus Christ ALWAYS WAS and IS fully GOD -- fully One of the Persons of the eternal triune Godhead - they attempt to refute that FACT. That makes them a cult; not to mention all the other deception they teach. Any ("church") denying that Jesus Christ WAS and IS fully God - WATCH OUT!
NormRasmussen2 2 years ago
Amen to that.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
Gods law clearly warned us that false prophets would come after christs death and to keep on the watch for them because they will mislead us, Any prophet who came after christs death is a false prophet, this includes J Smith. They are all about emotion and not logic.
dajhrm 2 years ago
For some clarification: The role of the "Prophet" changed somewhat after Jesus assended back to heaven. In the New Covenant, you have several references to prophets on the scene. And as you say, we are given warnings about false prophets who will rise up as well. Apostle Peter functioned as a New Covenant "Prophet", as did the Apostle Paul, and many other pillars of the Church. True Prophets today don't care to be called that. They just humbly function in the grace God has given them.
NormRasmussen2 2 years ago
A P.S. to my last post.
NormRasmussen2 2 years ago
Much Love

PreciousTestimonies 2 years ago
Jesus was into TRUTH because the "father of lies" (Satan) was and IS into deceiving as many people as he can while he is still given the ability to do so prior to the return of our Savior. We can never TRULY have peace with God until we DEMAND to know TRUTH. Once we get serious about demanding to know Truth ... the Holy Spirit then becomes much more greatly motivated to REVEAL Truth from deception. Let's go to a Part 3; this is getting a bit interesting ...
PreciousTestimonies 2 years ago
Turn to the end of the Book of Mormon; it challenges the reader to pray and inquire from God IF the "record/book" is of God or not. If you TRULY want to know what Truth is ... why doesn't the Mormon "Church" rephrase the challenge to say: "If you question the Holy Spirit's authenticy of this book, ask God to reveal to you whether it is a tool Satan is seeking to deceive you by ... or not." Making THAtTchallenge shouldn't be threatening to the Mormon "church" - surely, now WOULD it?
PreciousTestimonies 2 years ago
How many mormons that prayed for the truth of the BOM, prayed for the truth of the Bible first? I think none. Anyone else see something off here?
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
Nah, being part of the mormon church makes you a cultist. One of the characteristics of a cult is teaching works, because works are needed in order for a cult to survive.
So here you claim to have accepted Christ as your savior, but yet you believe your works are what save you, yes or no? Jesus was your 'ressurector', while your works go on from there for salvation. Does that not make you your OWN savior?
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
Yes, I believe in lifting up those that need help, feeding and clothing the poor and the widows.
I think you're forgetting the most basic of Christ's teachings: love thy neighbour: and how do we show love? we serve and help others. Encouraging others to not help others doesn't sound like it comes from Christ.
And no, the only way I am saved is through Christ, but I don't believe in cheap grace. God needs you and I to lift up others. We are how God does most of his work and miracles.
djwright44 2 years ago
That's a nice thought, which is fine, but the Bible I don't think says 'God needs us to lift up others'. The gospel will do that on its own. It does say we are to warn others of their impending doom, or the blood is on our hands.
Ezekiel 33:8
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
Hebrews 12:12
God needs us to help others. Again, you're encouraging me not to help others....that is the most unChristian thing I have ever heard and it actually is quite shocking to hear that come from someone that professes to follow Christ.
djwright44 2 years ago
I said nothing about refusing to help others. There is plenty in the Bible regarding helping others. Even Jesus said by helping others you are helping him, and by refusing others, you are refusing him.
If what you thought I meant is the most un-Christian thing you've heard, then you need to get out more. Cults teaching blasphemies I think would rank much higher on the un-Christian meter.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
Ok good: at least we have some common ground now. I'm glad to hear you don't discourage others from helping and lifting, and yes, nothing is more unChristian than forgetting about the poor and needy: that is the fruits of a true Christian.
djwright44 2 years ago
I suspect when the Bible is referring to fruits, it is referring more to how you treat the word of God. If you treat it as the word of God and can't get enough of it, you are bearing good fruit. If you couldn't care less or teach blasphemies regarding the word, you are producing bad fruit.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
I agree!! I can't get enough of the word of God and am grateful that he has provided us with writings of his ancient people in both ancient Israel and ancient America, and continues today with prophets and apostles.
djwright44 2 years ago
What 'word of God' are you referring to? The J.S. translation and the B.O.M.? woops!
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
You bet!
Is it your position that God wasn't capable, or didn't have enough love, to send his Son to somewhere other than ancient Israel?
I believe in an omnipotent and all-loving God and am grateful that he loves us enough to send a second testament of the divinity of his Son.
djwright44 2 years ago
Lol. It is my position to believe in the word of God that can prove itself, and not fiction presenting itself as the word of God. The word of God described the way Jesus left, and that he will return in the same way. Before he left, he told his disciples to preach the gospel to the world. I'm sorry the Bible is not enough for you.
"And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." —2nd Timothy 4:4
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
You avoided my question: it's quite simple: did Jesus have the power to visit other people or not? And if he did have the power, then who are you to dictate to whom Christ will directly preach?
djwright44 2 years ago
I don't dictate nor assume anything. The word indicates Jesus did otherwise. I do not follow beliefs that contradict it. The question here isn't if Jesus had the power to preach elsewhere. God is all powerful and capable, but God will not contradict his own word. If the BOM could represent itself as truth instead of fables, then I would be one.
truthseeker1973 2 years ago
I'm glad to hear you believe Christ is capable of anything. Please point me to the verse in the Bible that states Christ will not visit and preach to ancient America.
