  • this is a bast version

  • super song

  • they should make a love button.

  • Hells yeah, baby!!!!

  • the best of all time

  • jimmy page has so much style and natural swagger beautiful chops the best

  • So often Plant sings it live much lower than the studio album... voice problems?

  • this is a dream come true

  • I wish songwriters nowadays could write a song like this... one we don't get bored with if they make it longer than 3 minutes.

  • is this heaven?

  • Jimmy-YOU ARE THE MAN!

  • Thank you for posting this without the frickin' ads in the way!

  • @frankktillery82 the ads pay for it, hon.

  • @catchersmitt0 Well, there was one video of this same performance with an ad right in the middle of the picture the entire time. That's why I thanked you.

    -Frank

  • The live jams..... what you all missed that didn't get to see Zeppelin back in the day.....

It's what made Led Zeppelin SPECIAL, and a cut above the rest ! !

  • Jimmy rocks!

  • @Tassel0 his number 1 is a 58

  • @ausmoo2

    no its a 59

  • I love their extended jams! ROCK PERFECTION=)

  • This is just shit hot...it starts out so sweet and then it totally rips...

  • This song just takes me to a state of happiness, I love it so much!! Page kills it, he's the man!!

  • When I listen to this I just feel normal . What if you had this playing when you die...OK not so normal.

  • such a rad song.

  • Man I wish we woulda hit those fuckin high notes. such a fuckin badass song

  • I'll have what they are taken.

  • Best i have ever heard Plant

  • IS THAT A LES PAUL I SEE?

  • yes it is. But I think this song was recorded in studio with a Telecaster. Page was known to use a Les Paul or his trademark double neck SG in concerts and a Telecaster with a small amp in the studio. He has a huge collection of guitars so I might be wrong about the studio version but yeah he's using a Les Paul here xD

  • you must be new to zeppelin

  • no just new to guitars .you must be an lonley arrogant prick :)

  • @ckapz5166 yes, a '59 les paul (the holy grail of guitars) Jimmy Page has 2 and they are probably the most recognizable les pauls (if not guitars) in the world if he would sell them they would go for millions.....Page owns the finest examples of 59's in the world (even though they are modded)

  • Apart from the massive riffs, Page was such a fucking amazing soloist - awesome creativity and originality in this group - though Plant's vocals usually seem a bit tired live compared to his fierce energy in studio. Thxs for this great posting of genius in action!

  • @strav12

It probably hurt is voice to sing falsetto every song.

  • The letter is perfect, the music is perfect, he is perfect, the voice is perfect, the song is perfect.

  • LOL, these guys are so cool.

  • Led Zeppelin are "far and away" one of the best bands... ever. And live, they are without peer. Jimmy Page is a guitar god and John Bonham has the envy of all other drummers. This is a band that has everything, and it gels into perfection in every track they put to vinyl. I wish I was born 20 years earlier....

  • @jwcinc1

I think the charm of live performances is that its just different from the studio versions, besides actually seeing them, you mind as well just listen to the album, if it was exacly the same ofcourse. But it isnt, thats what made live perfomances so great, if you ask me.

  • well, nobody asked you did they? live is only better it you are at the concert yourself and your just fucked up as shit listening to a great band, but as far as listening like on youtube or a cd studio is much better its cleaner and made to sound as best as possible

  • Jesus Christ what is wrong with you kind of people? Nobody asked you for your opinion before this conversatation started right? Anyway all i am saying is that i think you talk crap. This conversation ends now.

  • shut up. keep your comments to yourself. just enjoy the music

  • @jwcinc1 god forbid bands these days miss a line or too i mean its definitely not about the sound of a band or anything.

  • this is so awesome and live may i repeat liveeeeee so wonderful

  • If only I can time travel to this time. :|

  • oh i would join you.. damn.. i came 30 years to late...

  • @dinodynamic74 I would come with you

  • @dinodynamic74 Dude I'm so there with you. All of my friends love modern rock and what not, and they get the chance to go to those concerts (even though they rarely come to Wisconsin/Minnesota.) But looking back and watching all of these videos of Led Zeppelin from Knebworth to Madison Square Garden, or even to Earl's Court, you just want to go back and feel what it was like to see them live.

  • @gaarapossessed17 Good music is timeless. It would have been amazing to see them live, but I'm glad that I wasn't born during that time period. The people of the 70s lived the experience and brought zeppelin to life, but our generation will make them legends. It will be remembered as time when mythical creatures played instruments and when gods lent their voices to men.

  • I love the guitar riff at 2:01.

  • led zeppelin is just awesome.

  • hmm I wonder if these lyrics are wrong ... pay attention to the words he sings.

  • Robert usually changed the lyrics around at concerts. The lyrics in the description fit the studio recording.

  • LED ZEPPELIN FOR LIFE!!!!

  • This song is basically the reason why i got together with my ex. its still my favorite song all time, but it makes me cry! led zeppelin is my only true love! it rocks my heart :D

  • Jimmy Page never got the credit he desreved as a Guitarist..................Incredible days for me as a kid.

  • Comment removed

  • actually rolling stone ranked him I believe the 4th greatest rock and roll guitarist.

  • Actually he was ranked 9th in Rolling Stone's list.

  • @ledzeppelin2226 then again rollling stone is a bunch of crack pot assholes who never gave zep the credit they deserved even back in the 70s. rolling stone is not gospel truth and is actually far from it.

  • the sound of guitar is amazing!!!

  • Incredible! Gods exist and are four!

  • man you guys give to much shit about how they play when the only thing the people care for is to see how fucked up they can make the guitar sound like aslong as they make a good music and it sounds good thats all that matters not really any sloopy guitarist unless his really slow

  • nao existe banda melhor ou =

  • Not sloppy. What you are hearing is Jimmy not multitracking like he did in the studio. Recordings sounded great, but live shows his artistic ability as a guitarist in love with his muse.

  • Its not "sloppy" so stop making yourself look dumb pretending to appreciate this music.

  • Jimmy Page isn't known as a terribly technical guitarist....his style just fit the Zeppelin style. He was/is pretty sloppy compared to many guitarists....doesn't make the music less great, just his style..

  • Just fucking unbelievable!!!

  • coda has good songs too

  • love this led song!

  • Robert Plant was so hot. Jimmy Page, too. Damn, I wish I lived during this time.

  • one of their best and one of my favorites

    amazing!

  • Jimmy Page is Amazing!

    I love Led Zeppelin!

You guys are truley inspirational to every metal band or rock band to walk on this earth!

You guys never Sucked.. Not Once!

  • Many times Ive wondered how much there is to know.

  • i mean, they are just too cool!

  • Many times I loved

    Many times been bitten

    Many times Ive gazed

    Along the open road.

    Best bit wooh! Zeppelin rules!

  • dont care what n.e says no one can touch jimmy page ,he is the best guitarist that has walked the earth period

  • he's by far my favourite guitarist, but you have to admit, he can be sloppy

  • you try playing clean when you snort tons of coke and load up on drugs on the plane to ur next gig lol

  • you're an idiot

  • am i though. if you knew much about led you'd know how fucked up they got on the plan rides between shows. just saying. theres no merit for calling me an idiot.

  • i don't just mean live. look at one of his most famous solos, the one from heartbreaker, it's so incredibly sloppy, and that's in the studio. that's only an example because it's so glorified, but almost all his solos are pretty sloppy. nothing against him, but i'm sure he played sloppy without being high at some point

  • True they were sloppy but he made " sloppy" like a trademark, none the less even if it was sloppy it was still amazing how good he was the sloppy solos sound bass sloppy are not he was a wonderfull guitar player he is one of the best none the less he was a guitar mastermind for sure bro he made sloppy his tradmark no doubt

  • If you listen hard in the heartbreaker solo it only sounds sloppy because he plays every note exact instead of usualy doing alot of slides and pulls offs/hammer ons. And most led zeppelin studios songs jimmy overlapping guitar parts so he can't play them all live, but yes the cocaine probably made him sloppy at times

  • It's the art of live playing when your high and the subconcious takes over that is the magic this and other music is. He is to me the best guitarist in the world!!

  • The best band ever!

  • excelent!

  • Jimmy has got sex guitar.

  • it is on the 2 disc version

  • sounds better not singing as high as the studio version

  • this song is one of the hardest songs ive learned how to play because its all letting go offf the the strings. but it is like my favorite songs of all time

  • EPIC SONG

    BETTER VERSION

    HALLUCINaTING!!!

  • my favorite zeppelin song.!

  • god i love this song, the intro is my ringtone ;)

  • they are # one on the best bands list

  • the live version better then original

  • man;; no words;;

    That's fantastic !

  • the intro to this song makes me want to tear up....

    *sniff*

  • Since I'm tryin' to learn this song, I 've listened to all the live version possible and realize Robert Plant has forgotten the first line to the first verse of this song. From 1973-1979 he left out "Many times I've loved and many times been bitten". Instead he uses the line from the second verse and repeats it again. You would think someone from the band or stage crew would've let him know - probably too much acupulco gold.

  • damn i play guitar and wehn i play it its so much diffrent because he was such a smooth player its amazing

  • he puts his heart, his soul, and his whole existence into his guitar playing

  • one of the best drummers to ever live , if not the best!

  • look at robert plants zipper. you can see his balls are to the side. no wonder he will get laid 10x a week

  • just being part of Zeppelin would most likely get you laid lol

  • lol your gonna make me look now!!

  • hey you can watch this in HD

  • fricken schveet so tite

  • fucking dope

  • dave grohl is awesome, but even he will tell you that bonham is the best

  • love the guitar intro! XD

  • i can't find a video of this where Plant sang it in the higher key like the record. anyone have a link?

  • Unfortunately, there isn't any. Only multi-track recordings which are fantastic! He was able to sing it in the higher key only a few months pryer to the filming of TSRTS. Sad really. Listen to the "How The West Was Won" CD's, best live version of OTHAFA on an official release. If there had only been a camera crew at those shows... good God that would have been awesome!

  • Maybe in the How The West Was Won version?

  • check out your moms backwards solo

  • My favorite song of all TIME!!! Greatness!!!!!

  • check out Immigrant Song live in Orlando (with backwards solo)

  • What a good band...

Jimmy Page > A Very Good Guitarist

John Bonham* > A very Tight Drummer

John Paul Jons > A vewy good Musician

And Finally Robert Plane > A Verrrrry Good singer from the rock history

    !

    !

    R'I'P John :"(

  • correction - John Bonham > Best drummer to ever live

  • I saw Dave Grohl = Best Drummer That Ever Lived

    But that's just my opinion

  • correction - john bonham is second to neil peart kthx

  • no your wrong just listen to moby dick live

  • argue with rolling stone magazines top 100 kthx

  • ehhh.... i dont think so man.... i mean hes one of my faves but he's certainly not the best. look up thomas lang and jojo meyer and carter beauford. there around the type... and maybe neil peart

  • peart bad ass but bonzo crazy to

  • mr. page is truly a guitar god... he makes his crazy guitar solos look so easy! this is my fav led zeppelin song by the way~

  • Jimmy Page is a fucking GOD!!!

they make so much sound with just one guitar player, it's so awesome!

  • whaaaaaaaargbl

  • remove it

  • greatest song eva i luv

  • awsome song. one of the bests

  • you try trippin on acid and playin music.

    its fuckin hard.

especially since the shit was more

    pure in that time man.

  • Interesting perspective... I also kind of laughed, disregarding how true this may be.

  • i agree, robert plant in a way sounds high

  • it we have to be honestly the will never come bands like rollingstones led zeppelin the doors the who again it will be like today there are no more freaky hippies who wants a new free sex generation or students or just freaky people who feel fresh and new i wished a kind of way i was born in this time and could join this legendary generation

maybe i also had try some drugs but now no!

  • i really love them!!

so big shame that music is today shit!

im honestly it is really shit it almost sounds like the same shit and its getting to much boring songs like from led zeppelin could you enjoy your whole life but like today you only like it a few years and then you will forget it its true

this are songs forever but this stupid generation is listining to disney stars and stupid it girls hhhahahhaha i just wanna die!! john bonham is waiting

  • i dont ment a few years i ment a few weeks sorry

  • My 18 year old step son is so into Zepp! I hear this and I just smile and think, damn, that is pretty cool, he could be listening to some of the crap that is out there now, dressing Goth (Oh yeah, they still do that) but as long as he is just listening and enjoying the music and not "living the 70's lifestyle" that went along with this, I am ok with it! He is a musician, and listening to the roots of rock will only enhance his knowledge. Keep rocking peeps! God Bless! The 'Nut.

  • there one of the best bands in there time nothing could touch them one of a kind icons

  • in concert the people with the burning brooms kinda were distracting from the band.............. special unique sound kinda like the doors are so unique

  • i didnt mean suck as in not very good; what i should have said was said compared to their studio versions of the songs. i dont know how my comment would consider me to be an "arsehole." u have very how standards if you think someone is an asshole by just making an opinonated comment!

  • i agree with this guy. tingting, ur a dick. he can think whatever he wants

  • i know what you mean. there singing isn't as good as there studio stuff but the band i heaps good.

  • OMG no i dont think so

but its of course your opinion

for example from the song stairway to heaven it sounds really better live filmed in madison square garden than in the studio version but i think the studio version is really great though

but you are right in some different concerts they dont sound really so good but they are LEGENDS

  • its just u. they're good at everything they do. best band in the world

  • i dont know i love their studio songs and i think you can agree with me on that right? but when he comes in with the many times i loved, that sounds just awful and nothing like the stuido sound. zeppelin is awesome but rush is better.

  • u can hold ur own opinion but i still have faith in led zeppelin. They're sophisticated when it comes to style because no 2 songs sound the same at all. They also came out with the first blues rock band to make it in america which means a lot when it comes to music. I get what ur saying but don't agree at all

  • rush is horrible

  • im gonna pretend you didnt say that

  • rush is great (i've seen them live), but in my opinion led zeppelin is the best live band, buy the led zeppelin 2003 DVD, it's amazing, best live performances ever

  • really?? i wouldve thought rush was better live, but its your opinion ;]

  • buy the led zeppelin official 2003 dvd and you'll think the same

  • well that's your opinion, in my opinion led zeppelin has the best live performances, and it's amazing especially considering only 4 members

  • i love it....but i love the studio versions to most zep's songs much more... but i love it!

  • Hey, hey, what can I say? Jimmy Page is great. He inspired my cousin to pick up the guitar many moons ago. Randy Rhoads was my inspiration for pickin' up the axe. This is one of my fav Zep tunes though. And John "Bonzo" Bonhams thundering drums are AWSUM!!! Bonzo inspired me to play the drums when I was 16, which was also many, many moons ago. Zeppelin rules!!!

  • I loved you...many moons ago

  • LOL...cute. I guess I'm just giving away my age with the "many moons" phrase... peace to you, my friend.

  • ur opinion !

  • I fuckin love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
