Well on the track I tend to stay quite upright on the bike, you`ll notice my knee doesn`t stick out. On the road I tend to lean off more. Like you say it`s all just refining fine motor skills. Having run out of ground clearance a few times, I`m starting to work on moving around the bike more now.
BTW, due to my injury all gear changes up and down are clutchless. I do have a clutch on the right clipon operated by my thumb, but once up to speed it's easier just to go without.
