I'm working on my goals right now. I'm self teaching myself 3D Modeling/Animation/Texturing, and I'm also figuring out how to program, I work on this nearly 90% of my free time on this dream. I also have a talent for writing stories that actually are rather good according to my English teacher, who read one in front of the class. Eh, it's not so much a matter of "want to be", i'm going to be a musician, there's no other options for me. And i know what you mean on being hard on yourself, i'm only 16 and at times i feel like i won't stand a chance, but i'm prepared to devote my entire life to getting where i want to be and farther as a musician. Nothing else matters to me, not the money or the fame, although a nigga does gotta eat haha.

I'm 26 and I've always wanted to be an artist, so I went to college for a graphic design. I've been doing it professionally for 4 years and now in the midst of it, I'm not sure it's what I want to do anymore...I think now I might want to be an art teacher or maybe even an "advertising creative"... or maybe even a small time film maker... I live in Portugal and all i hear is im going to finish the 9th grade and i am going to make money (lol) . The things are bad here we are in the midle of an echonomical (dont know how we write) crysis and nobody seems to care. For all my collegues they just need to study a little bit more and do whatever they want. I am very luck and i have chance of going to a nice college and learn i just wished all my friends had that chance.

Graduate college with a batchelor degree on Graphic design, then go into car designing.....high school was a pain but graduated with a 3.8 GPA and a scholarship, and i was glad with that goal, Soccer is my dream but not everyone can become a Pro the next day. Drawing cars has been one of the things i love doing and my friends say im good but practicing is the best i can do so maybe have my own car, and/or see my created car be driven everyday, it would be a joy to feel.

Oh and an example: my dad's a huge tech geek with anything. He was a photographer for years but packed that in and now works on computers with the police. But when all the stress of my future, University / College, etc. began to drive me insane I talked to him first and he got all nostalgic about how he'd never guessed he'd be a photographer or working in the police. I've spoke to people in work and they've told me similar stories of regret so don't be like that - be what you want.

Agreed. If I have children I'd raise them under the pretence that they can be whoever they want to be if it's something they're passionate about and something they'd pursue. Unfortunately I'm a confused mess of a teenager - one minute I want to pursue then games developement, etc. But to anyone who is pursuing a dream or goal might I suggest you speak with your parents about it. I'm 19, confused as fuck but I found that talking to my parents was a big help. They'll understand so open up to them.

i work at a car wash everyday except for tuesday and wednesday, and i go to high school i am starting to realize i need to study harder and make better grades because im not trying to stay at the carwash.. im trying out for jv basketball in the fall though im pretty sure im ready been playing everyday at the park.. good luck in life to you and im going to try and make my goals happen with honor roll.
