  • nice one...top singer

  • I love Jackie Trent's voice - and she sounds so good here. (I am an American, and I wonder how many Americans know who she is.)

  • @gayboylaca MANY Americans... (She did have quite a number of somewhat low-charting hits inthe US and Canada, after all.)

  • love the ronettes version but this pack a punch!:)

  • Great record my .sister loves this and the B side Sender her away and she isnt a soulie.

  • I was sat with Jackie Tonight in a pub because she has been doing some fund-raising with my mum for all of the soldiers and she has made a CD with a song called "hero" and it is on itunes if you want to listen :) xx

  • @Dandypop1 does she have a spare copy of you baby that she doesnt want lol

  • @livisoul I dont think so if she did it'd have to wait till april coz shes not coming back to england untill then :L xx ahahah hahah lol

  • @Dandypop1 > I'm Jackie's Niece and love her to bits - my favourite song has to be 'You Baby.'

  • @locksleyism me too ;) xx

  • @locksleyism i like that song too ;) Xx

  • @locksleyism - She helps a lot with charities ! She's very down to earth sort of person. Fab.Voice ! My daughter is a professional singer too !

  • @locksleyism I have a few favourites. This one, "Love is Yours, Love Is Mine" (which was a hit for several people), and "I'll Be Near You" (which I WISH someone would upload)...

  • Jackie Trent for me is one of the most underated singers in the world.

I have all her records that are available in my part of the world. (NZ )

  • @cleavecolin have you got we,ll be with you? whats on the B Side haha

  • Stormin' track! managed to get the original red Pye label 45 rpm single! Not cheap-highly desirable and collectable! Go Jackie!!

  • awesome tune

  • 5* for u..

    ktf...

  • She was miles better than petula clark. If the latter wasn't around she would have been massive

  • Beg your pardon 1prick, this was way before The Casino. You're right about the shite part but aim it at the places it was played.

  • This is great! Thank you!

  • We are all entitiled to our own opinions

  • @livisoul to everyone who slates this tune, ok it's not out n out Northern but it IS a part of Northern Soul history, along with the other Casino Classic releases, and remember when these tunes were released a lot of the people buying them would have been to young for the casino and after hearing them at thier local youth club it was probably the 1st introduction into Northern for them so they would've went out and bought them, thus Keepin the faith alive to this day

  • @livisoul yes indeed i was 14 when i started buying from selecta disc ,they pressed all the rare stuff . We could get in on an almost eletist scene . soul On Trent

  • @livisoul Then it highlights how wigan lost its way musically if this is a part of its heritage, personally I went at the opening night and for 3 years when it truely was a great venue with great music, Jackie is a pop singer from the 60s, which she wouldn not deny.

  • @livisoul -l -good comment spot on - but a lot of the acceptable hard core nsoul music in my opion was garbage ..if the top djs at wigan and else where played it people bought and ranted on a bout it like lemmings

  • @1patrickq whats wrong with northern casino?

  • nothing just not keen on some of the music from their or that era no offence meant but for someone to criticise johhny taylor and the like is ridiculous dont you think

    patrick

deffinitely dont like jackie trent another famous song from her is neighbours lol

  • jackie does a good job on this old ronettes hit imagine what phil spector could have done with this voice. I like her sound the right producer could have taken her far..

  • First time I've ever heard her sing (was tubing Len Barry's version and read a comment that JT's version was better, so I decided to check it out...) The comment was right - Great song, beautifully sung!

  • first heard this in last years of the wheel 1969 -70 then got great plays at the drockaweeny in mr smiths manchester!!!!!!!great days ...wish they were still here...keep the faith..

  • I remember buying this on I think a Casino classics ep in 78 or 79 from mr Ms

  • i think ifirst heard this played on radio Carolinewhen i was a kid

    anyone else agree?

    Anyway still a top tune

  • brill sound,lov it

  • Do you know the young fella Liam from Belfast, used to promo a Soul Night at the Queens Uni SU which me & the missis had the pleasure of attending a few years ago. Lovely lad, loves his Northern and put on a good night that noght, tho' mostly for the Mod Squad.

  • this is a real gem ,thanks

  • Absolute corker!! Got shivers down my spine listening to this again.

  • rember this from the casino.great tune and jackie trent comes from stoke on trent like me and she and her husband wrote the 1972 league cup final song for the rip roarin potters stoke city, cause she is a stokeie like me.roger from stoke.ktf.skf.riker liker.

  • "Love is me" I loved that one during the sixties. "Where are you Love" (is me) ?!

  • I was given some cd's and did not the artists, jackie trent was one of them, and first time, I liked it, she has many more songs, shes a writter too, I read the notes, hahahaha.

  • I was wondering when I clicked on this, if I was going to hear the P.F. Sloan song that was a hit for the Turtles or the Mann & Weil song that was recorded by the Ronnettes. Looks like its the latter. Not bad.

  • brill rikki ktf

  • Where is Love Hustle?

  • One Of The Best Singers In The 60's!!!!!!!!!! She's Fantastic!!!!!

  • Never heard of her before this (real name: Yvonne Burgess.) Didn't know she had a song that actually bumped the hot-as-a-firecracker Beatles from the top of the UK charts in '65.

  • Pure blue eyed soul, orginally done by Len Barry, this lady who was married to Tony Hatch, who wrote lots of 60`s-70`s hit records, but this lady could`nt half sing, one of my fav blue eyed sounds, ktf.

    djdeitch(Dave)

  • thanks for the info never knew len barry done it.

  • O yes i will post it.

  • The Ronettes and Linda Scott also had versions of this tune.
