the VHS is fake the real Oliver and Company VHS came in 1996 for the first time. i actually re-issue movie when it came to theaters. but really a 1989 version would be cool these are my previews
1) 1984 red FBI warning screens 2) The Little Mermaid trailer 3) WDC logo 1989
4) 1985 WDP logo( with song, "Once upon a Time n New York City")

Another reason this is ridiculous is because they never have lilac logos and navy logos played together because it doesn't make sence. The lilac logos are played seperatly and the navy logos are played seperatly.
Sorry, but I deny this! I think they made the right desicion to wait until 1996 to release it. However, I would consider an optional 1989 print of the film, like this:
1. orange FBI screens
2. "The Little Mermaid" trailer
3. cut-short 1989 WDC logo with voiceover (as seen on the first version of "The Rescuers Down Under")
I don't think so, they made the right decision to wait until 1996 for it's first home video debut, which was proceeded by a theatrical re-issue in the same year, before it came out on VHS. Although, I do consider an optional 1989 print of the film:
It doesn't make sence to have a fly-in bumper and a cut-short logo with voiceover on the same tape, so I say four should be the fly-in "Now on Videocassette" logo.
Cool!
I had that presentation of Aladdin when I had 101 Dalmatians on VHS.

When you do the previews to The Little Mermaid make sure you skip the THX logo and go straight to the 1990 WDP logo
livinlarge18 4 years ago
The green format logo is before the 1990 WDP logo.

They made the right desicion to wait until 1996 to release it because it wasn't ready yet. Although, I did make an optional 1989 print of the film:
1. orange FBI screens
2. "The Little Mermaid" trailer
3. cut-short silent 1989 WDC logo with voiceover saying "Don't miss this timeless Disney classic from WDHV!"
4. "Bambi" trailer
5. 1989 WDC logo
6. 1985 WDP logo with film's own cue music

They should have done a 1994 Print with no previews.
