I just recently purchased the 1326 model and I'm having the hardest time connecting the hdmi cables - can't seem to figure this out - any tips? I'm getting nothing but green screen.
@NothingOriginal55 Start troubleshooting by trying different HDMI cables and HDMI port combinations on the receiver and TV to make sure there isn't a problem with your cables or TV ports. If you're still having problems contact our Tech Support at 800-338-0531 or live chat by clicking the "Questions? Click to Live Chat" button near the top right of our site, parts-express[dot]com and they should be able to help diagnose the problem.
Hello, I recently got this receiver and was wondering how the auto calibrate works, I am using it without a tv wired to it. Do you need a tv hooked up to it to use the menu or can you just use the remote? Thanks
I just got this receiver today from Amazon. I'm waiting on my Blu-Ray to get here to finish hooking things up. For now, I just hooked up my CD player. This receiver replaces a Pioneer VSX-D507S (old Dolby Pro Logic). I was able to hook up my equalizer with ease on the old one. Where does one hook it up on this VSX820?
Btw, I haven't finished calibrating things on this yet. I'm just enjoying a couple CD's at present.
@BlueEyedTex Hello, This does not have any inputs for a traditional eq as that is only for two channels. The built in Auto MCACC Room Calibration is actuially a very accurate EQualizer and makes a normal eq unnecessary.
@partsexpressdotcom Thanks for the info. I'm still learning my way around this receiver. Waiting for my new Blu-ray to come so I can hook that up also.
Sorry for the lame question but - I want to connect my SetTopBox, WII, XBox, DVD player and other components to my HDTV. The various components have various outputs including Composite, component, DVI, etc. I want to run a single HDMI cable to my TV, can I use the receiver to select the component input source from the WII to send to the TV via HDMI?
Unfortunately, none of our receivers will pass a signal over HDMI that came into the receiver as a component video cable. For every video cable format being used to supply the receiver with a signal, a cable of that type will have to be run out of the receiver to the television.
quick question, i have a sub woofer and 2 speakers but i am guessing i need a receiver but my question is do i need a stereo or an AV receiver? i want to be able to have the audio from my tv go play through out my system but also be able to hook it up to my computer so i can watch movies via Netflix please help thanks
IF you only have two speakers then a stereo unit is all that you need. The subwoofer would have it's own amplifier typically so that would not be a problem either way.
You can set up a AV receiver like the Pioneer listed as a 2 channel if you like but it certainly has more speaker outputs. Thank you so much for your business. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Make sure you register your product online with Pioneer - that way if there are any firmware updates, you'll be informed. Of course that doesn't tell you if any upcoming updates are expected.
I connected all the speaker, but whenever I go to hit the advanced surround button, I keep getting a "PHONESIN" message....and I have no idea what that means.
I have a HDMI cable going from the out port to my tv with my blu ray and xbox going into the input HDMI ports....I don't know what's wrong
@KeiraNinasDad Pioneer stated, to a Parts Express inquiry, that as of this time there are no plans to upgrade the firmware of previous receivers to include AirPlay. At this time, the only receiver that will feature AirPlay from Pioneer is the VSX-1021-K.
Thks for your reply, they were On , I did the MACC setup and it worked, however when use adv surr mode like "Action" I got an echo issue...but the "ext stereo" is the only one that worked fine...I noticed that some other guys has the same echo issue on those surround mode not sure if it is a problem on this receiver.
I did setup this receiver with 4 in ceiling speakers (2 front, 2 surround speaker A), I want to get sound for all 4 speakers but I could not find how..if I use ACL I just got sound from the front speakers, Do you know how I can acomplish this. Thks.
@mgomezfaw Ensure that the surround speakers are turned on within the receiver's On Screen Display menu. Once on, you would need a surround sound source or select one of the simulated surround modes for all speakers to function.
Looks nice. I have a Pioneer VSX-3800. I know it's older but it is a great unit. I am probably going to look for a new receiver soon so i will for sure get one of these. How much does it sell for?
I have one of these, I like it a lot. Like most AV receivers, it won't decode AAC, but that's easily handled in software. My question, however, is: What are those two thin white ports above and below the S/PDIF and TOSLINK ports? They have little arrows pointing at them, and they're not mentioned in the manual anywhere. Thanks.
Great review. I purchased the 820 and hooked it all up but cant get anything but a blue screen on the TV. Hooked Blu-ray, DirecTV, and DVD/VHS combo unit to 820 via HDMI then HDMI out to Mitsubishi DLP. No luck. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Hi.. I was wondering if I could connect my KEF model 11 tower speakers to this pioneer home theatre system? This tower speaker has 11 drivers which serve as front, rear and centre speakers for surround sound without the hassle of using 5 different speakers. Having said that, is it possible to connect all the bare wires to this receiver?
This should be able to connect to any speaker system designed for surround sound. it will accept either bare wire or banana plugs for the speaker connections.
Thank you so much for your business. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
great revieuw, but i have one question, i no have connected my laptop to my reciever at aux, this reciever dosnt have aux? how do i connect it to my laptop??
@knop42 You can connect your computer to this receiver many ways. If you are using an aux out you can use a 3.5mm to RCA cable to connect to this unit. something like item 181-592.
Thank you for your video. I have small question. I bought this receiver last week but I am not sure which Speakers do I need to buy. Should I buy Pioneer or I can use another brand speakers ? What should I look for to get a good result of this receiver ?

Dear Parts-Express, I am wondering if this receiver puts out 100watts rms or peak.
Because I own a Leon Horizon hz515a sound bar and I would like to get the most out of my sound-bar.
