  • "Wishing" o al español " Deseando".

  • COMO SE LLAMA ESTE TEMA?

  • @TheBeatlera Se titula "Wishing" :D

  • Lovely piano by Richard, as always. Thank you for uploading.

  • colora40 I am sure these boys have gone the music academie, otherwise thy hadn`t used the cello. It is like Nightwhish. As fred I have watched and before listened from 70`th and like them.

  • Just another great song from ELO. Thanks for up load.

  • El tema de la canción se llama "Wishing" (deseando) del album Discovery 1979

  • alguien sabe como se llama esta cancion es q el titulo solo dice electric ligth orchestra

  • Wish I could hear that Gibson Les Paul, but I guess it's only for show lol.

  • @Henjo29 He's playing clean notes on the off beat in the verses. It's super low in the mix so you hear the strings and ambience more

  • I guess it's a progressive MV . Wishing be suitable with the album name " Discovery " .......Awesome !!!!!!!

  • Como se llama el tema ?

  • @TheBeatlera wishing

  • Buenoooo

  • omg Jeff is so freaking cute

  • I love this band!!! and Jeff too!!!

  • That wonderful bass, and bass player.

  • @sunspark01 Kelly was a great bass player.I miss him so much he was a class act and unique

  • @crisp2882--Thank you, so nice to know others appreciate Kelly, he was one of a kind... THE GREATEST....

  • Thank god for YouTube, so that greats like this can for ever be heard...

  • Great band :)

  • This one goes out to my baby...21 years going strong...

  • I don't believe in jealousy, but I find myself being jealous of Jeff Lynne for all the amazing stuff he created, and well, he looked cool too.

  • one of my favourites of elo

  • Y hay 382 que si tienen buen oidoooooooo!

  • hay 4 imbeciles que no saben nada de musica, ELO lo mejor en baladas, grande Jeff unico !!

  • I love you guys so much,I always will.

  • What if the four rainbows turned into girls? XD It would be a weird music video.

  • Guy who designed the rainbows was colour-blind, orange should be in between red and yellow not green and yellow...

  • @hamfranky lol you really pay attention to that? (:

  • What is the title?

  • @Ratelzwatel

Wishing.... isn't it a great song!!! I listened to it over and over again over 30 years ago... I thought i was the only one!

  • @Ratelzwatel Electric Light Orchestra - Wishing

  • creo k estoy drogado veo arcoiris, shhh an de haber sido buenos tiempos aver vivido escuchando este grupo

  • love this song

  • I've not heard this song in a very long time.Thirty-one years to be exact.I'm glad to find it to hear it.Thanks for posting it.

  • I have and always will think Jeff Lynne is the hunkiest hunk in the world...

  • @Debbiec4vett

    I feel the same way.

  • @Debbiec4vett me too *__*

  • Jeff should have let the other members write songs also

  • This band got me through the bad and the good days. R.I.P. Mike Edwards.

  • Greatest video ever.

  • Jeff Lynne is a real Genius.

Very sad that there are no more bands like ELO today...

  • @88sublunaire Panic! At The Disco's album Pretty. Odd. sounds something like this... especially Nine In The Afternoon. Check it out. It's pretty cool.

  • @snooze22jen Thank You! I will listen to your advice.

  • Romántico!

  • I didn't know that Rainbow got in bands? LOL. No love ELO.

  • @kezadrone LOL! I can see Zippy on cello, Bungle on bass, George on a pink piano and Geoffrey on glue in the corner....

  • @johnnywindows1 I know. Have you seen the state of Geoffrey now. He looks like a stick insects thats used a ball bag for skin. Fucked through now.

  • The elo , for me, it's the best band ever along The Beatles.

Jeff Lynne make a very lovely music.

I love this song and I love him (L)

  • @kloemccartney I'm OK with your pointof view,ELO and specialy Jeff Lynne=Beatles Legacy!Number two for me.

  • Holy eff that stage is a miracle.

  • Queen overated? Hmmm......It's hard for me to even debate such an obtuse comment. Freddie Mercury alone was among the top 5 entertainers of the last 60 years, not to mention the supporting cast he had!........In no particular order Freddie, Elvis, Sinatra, MJ, Bono. ELO is fantastic, but please don't take credit from one of the most innovative, creative, and gifted vocalist/showmen of all time!

  • I wishing esta bn al 100 gracias ELO

  • Awesome song, but it needs more cowbell......

  • wow this just made me cry- in a good way-

  • Is it just me or is Jeff Lynne kinda hot? Maybe it's the glasses with the beard...

  • don't mention queen in the same breath as ELO,queen are the most overrated band ever,ELO are the greatest band ever.

  • ELO is great! Always loved them.

  • super ELO

  • John Lennon had said in a Post-Beatle interview, that had the Beatles still be recording, they would have probably have had an ELO type sound. Pretty high praise. ELO, one of the most underrated groups of Rock. Innovative cutting edge sound, right up there with Floyd, Zeppelin and Tull.

  • It's not surprising he said that, given how Jeff Lynne helped produce some of their music. It's awesome and true.

  • @FDNYLt well said!

  • @FDNYLt Dont forget to include Alan Parsons in your list very underated

and he produced Pink Floyds Dark Side of The Moon.

  • wonderful beautiful fantastic outrageous song, it's so beautiful masterpiece of ELO album discovery

  • Has been my favorite band of all times. Wonderful voices backing vocals piano and guitar arrangements. Great contrast with the rock section and the soft section in one song!

    Attila

  • 'Need Her Love' is my personal favorite on "Discovery"...RIP Kelly...and thank you...

  • I remember cruising in my black n gold bandit trans am and listening to ELO back then all I worried about was partying and getting laid.

  • you are my hero

  • Best tune on "discovery", especially loving the vocoder harmonies.

Love ELO and proud 2 b a Brummie!

  • This is a very colorful videoclip.

I love to see Elo's flying saucer...

  • I can remember when this was new..and when I got my first car - a '73 delta 88 convertable, it had an 8 trak player and I only two 8 track tapes that my step-father gave me, discovery and sailing shoes, thats all i had and boy what a summer that was..thanks so much for posting this.

  • DISCOVERY ALBUM FTW!!!!

  • Jeff Lynne looks like Hyde's dad from "That 70's Show."

  • Damn that's groovy!!

  • lol@ groovy but you're right.

  • I'm wishing I could hold Joanna....

  • I wish you could too dude. For all us guys who wish they could hold the woman they love.

  • Cheers mate. I really appreciate that, but I feel a bit stupid for writing that.

  • We all get drunk and post things we regret. lol

  • this is awesome. thanks for posting this.

  • what song is it?

  • The song is Wishing from Discovery album. :)

  • Wishing - Electric Light Orchestra

  • Taste the rainbow. ELO is rainbowlicious. :)

  • This is one of favorite ELO song 8)

  • If someone had told me in 1979 that one day, 30 years from now I would be watching this video on my computer, I woulda said "Yeah, it's a great song innit?"

  • You know, I wasn't even born for the seventies, and yet I STILL wish it was more like then nowadays. xD

  • @thai2die

I was born in73 and though I could not enjoy this like an adult. I caught the tail end of the 70's as a child and have such great memories of what used to play on the radio.

I was so in tune to what was playing that when the teacher asked our class in 79 what "spring fever" was, I said a Disco. I guess Dance Fever with Danny Terrio and Saturday night fever with John Travolta must have made an impression on me!

  • oooooo dios amo esta cancion viva elo!!!! simplemente UNICOS!

  • Es fenomenal con tantas combinaciones de armonías!!!!!

  • Blue voilin... :D!

  • god how i miss the 1970's :(

  • You too, huh???

  • yes me too , it was a great time to be alive the music was a lot better , no one was as up tight or pc , now it seems everyone is a status seekers or completely into themselves , where is my time machine ps the men were hotter !!!!

  • I so agree......I miss guys having long hair..........and music was better, for sure....

  • Wish I had a blue violin and a big handlebar mustache.

  • Live the dream! lol

  • Wish I could grow a 'stashe like the bassist. Its megalithic. Great song thanks for the upload

  • ELO IS FANTAASTIC...this brings back so many great memories...I love you ELO!!

  • Xanadu:1980

    Wishing from Discovery album:1979

  • Xanadu:1980

    Wishing from Discovery album:1979.

  • Was this before Xanadu?

  • Discovery was the album before Xanadu

  • ELO - groovy

  • Everything ELO did before 1980 was fantastic. After that it was crap. Wimpy rock. Almost bubble gum pop. Then the traveling Wilburys came along. I was really excited to see Jeff Lynne doing something new then. That was some good music. Still love the old ELO!!

  • hey man ELO made great music. Everything they made was great. Maybe if you listen to the words for once then you'll see what great musci this is. Who cares if it's alittle pop it's still great music.

  • What about if the planned double Secret Messages would have been released. I hope some day it will. I have to say to you even at worst ELO had always something to offer. This song is pleasent.

  • message me and tell me were i could find the bass tab

    please!!

  • Cool! i'm so excited...

    New music from Jeff is

    arriving soon...

  • who is play the bass ?

  • Kelly Groucutt

  • The three string players were fired from the band by a letter signed by the remaining four members. Very classy. It was also during this time that Lynne turned down ELO heading the Knebworth Festival in England, allow Led Zepplin a late chance of glory before Bonham passed away. While 1979 was a successful year for ELO with this record, it was also the beginning of the band slowly imploding.

  • Yeah it was a funny setup. Bevan and Lynne were founder members and Tandy was a trusted right hand man but all the others were just like paid employees

  • wat song is dis!!!???

  • wishing

  • this is not mr. blue sky,i promise you that.

  • no it's not

  • Probably contractual stuff going on here. The mimed Discovery video was made instead of a tour, but the string players were payed as live performers, (although apparently they were present on recordings up to Discovery). So Mik Hugh and Mel learnt string parts for all the Discovery songs that would never be heard! Lynne never booked Hugh and Mel again. Can't have been a great atmosphere at the video shoot.

  • Super.Ciary.....

  • That's interesting. The poor old cello players are in this video. I thought they'd been dropped by then. They were uncredited on the album and weren't in the 'official' videos for the album.

  • this is my favorite song by elo and i cant help but sing it with or without music great song

  • aaaaaahhhh!!! ke hermosa canción!!! Ya me gustó un poco más ke telephone line.....y eso ke es mi favorita!!!

  • Freeze it at around 1:18 and put John Lennon's glasses on him........

  • I love this song and all the songs on Discovery album. Where did you get this video?

  • omigosh, this video is so cute. i love it.

  • what song is this it only tells you thats it elo

  • ELO - Wishing

  • thnx

  • Wishing

  • ...second last song on Discover

  • cool i just bought "a new world record" the actual vinyl record i wanted to know if this 1 was on thnx.

  • I should have written DiscoverY!

Yup you are three years early; New World Record 1976, Out of the Blue 1977 and Discovery 1979. But never mind, NWR is aruguably their best! But its more rock & Roll and less ballady

  • Agree, the new world record has some great songs like Shangri-la or Tightrope (and when i say "great" i mean really GREAT)

4ThoseWhoWant2Rock: enjoy your new record:) (ups that was like 2 months ago, not that new anymore, huh?)

  • hi hi hi hi hi

  • Best ELO song !

  • Its a nice song, but the best ELO song must be 'Evil woman'.

  • Such a powerful mustache at 1:21

  • Disco or not, this song and every one on discovery was great.

  • got to love that hair

  • one disco song was one too many, imho

  • did they try to change their sound at this point?

  • Yeah on Discovery they really pulled back from the strings and complex keyboards and concentrated more on the basic rhythm section. There is a popular internet myth that it was a Disco album reflected in the name. But you only have to listen to the album to hear that there are only 2, maybe 3 dance-ish tracks. I sometimes think that Fleetwood Mac's Rumours had prompted JL to go for a more intimate and sophisticated sound. just a guess.

  • It's disapointing when groups you think have genuine talent and then change their style or hide it just for the mainstream audience.

  • I don't agree swiv2d; This was their eighth studio album in about as many years. Their sound had changed a few times. The "classic" ELO sound was probably only there through Face the Music to Out of the Blue. It would have been disappointing if he had done more of the same. I love Discovery still. It probably is blander than many of their albums but it is really well crafted and still sounds good today.

  • A New World Record is a classic.

  • I love the set!!

  • Favorite album (and most underrated):

    Time

  • Out of The Blue is my favorite album by ELO!! =D

  • I only like 5 songs on this album....this includes "Don't Bring Me Down" because i grew up listening to it on the radio- even though it was overplayed.I am a drummer-so i am very drawn to that Bev Bevan signature sound with a little help from Slingerland drums ofcourse! :> )

  • According to Bev's biog. the sound was a result of double tracking. They would record the drum track once. Then he would play it again, exactly the same recording right over the first one. Not easy but that's how they got the meaty sound.

  • all groups fail in comparison to ELO; they've got some of the greatest songs of all time

    Lynne is a musical genius.

  • you know the guy with the NOTICABLE handle mustashe

  • is kelly the bass that always stands next to him? if so i totally agree that he is an asshole not attending the funeral they played together Almost the whole time

  • LOL, hilarious!

  • wish you were here

    K.

  • Anything these guys did was gold.awsome in the seventies still awsome now. Great clean sound timeless. number 1 fan mswales.

  • I love ELO!

  • God i wish Kelly was still here, it breaks my heart to see this and realise that he's gone. God bless my friend and fly away in that great big ELO spaceship in the sky.

  • Dont know where to ask but half an hour ago i think i heard the terrible news that kelly groucutt has passed away! I hope and pray that im wrong..sorry for asking on here, i wasnt sure where to go to find out for sure :O(:O(:O(

  • it's true.

    R.I.P Kelly

  • song is called Wishing, and is on the 1979 album called Discovery.

  • What's the name of this song?

  • "Wishing' It is off the Discovery album

  • i agree, these 7 dudes need to get more crdit for the amazing music they've "composed"
