I connected the z-2300 satellites to the head unit. I did not have the z-2300 subwoofer hooked up. I just used part of the z-2300 (satellites). You can get that power supply but you need a way to power the sub if you don't have the control pod to the z-2300.
idk what you are trying to say, but a z-2300 is useless without the control pod. If no control pod, then you can't use the amplifier on the sub because no one knows what teh 15 pin vga wires lead to. all you can do with a z-2300 is still use it but find a amplifier that will power it because the original amplifier in the sub only works with control pod.
you can use any computer power supply but it must at least have 10 amps to power it. Or instead of a power supply from a computer, you can use anything that has a 12 volt DC output and use it but it must be 10 amps or else your deck will keep shutting off for the lack of power.
My RA's are just other students but they are like dicks once they have a little authority. They act like they own the place. But yeah, any type of subwoofers are not allowed even little 5 1/4 inch computer subs. But it don't phase me cause I actually upgraded to 2 10W7's.
I know, I noticed! The thing is though, some woofers (not subwoofers) are bigger than certain subwoofers, so how does that work out? are you saying that an 18 inch WOOFER is "allowed" but a 2 inch SUB woofer isn't? get what i'm saying?
yeah I get you. They are just targeting people that has bass. Because my freshmen year, they did not have any restrictions until I kept rattling all the windows with 3 Z-2300's. but yeah woofers aren't subwoofers but they don't know that, all they know is the sound of bass. but yeah, i was going to get woofers if I ever did get caught cause on the policies, it bolds and highlights subwoofers but not woofers.
they plug into cars. I just cut them and split the positives and negatives and connected all 4 together. then you just need to hook them up to a power supply to get the 12v. In my case, i made a little box with a fuse and switch. I'll post a vid in the future if i have the time.

use the wire from pod that goes to the sub, then there must be another wire going to a circuit board. Maybe try connecting that wire to the PSU
