Ananias didn't actually speak to God, so I don't think he could've lied to God. He talked to Peter, and Peter tried to change the situation himself by simply declaring that Ananias lied to God instead.
Besides this dishonesty, we must also judge Peter and his new church as evil. How could they even think of worshipping a god who kills his own followers for not producing enough money for this obvious extortion?
It even uses the word "terror" to describe the feeling that this created.

There's really no excuse for God committing murder here. The writer didn't even have the guts to admit that God did it, but implied it clearly.
This is another reason to avoid worshipping Jehovah. He's pure evil, if you believe he exists, that is.
