I need help in identifying a movie when I was young. I don't remember much of the details but in the scene what I remember to be zombies (maybe they were crazy people?) have these people under siege and they break in and chase everyone up to the last floor - and one of the people either pushed a mother and child into the zombies or throws a baby down the stairs so he can get away. Last scene I remember is zombies crossing a bridge at night with city lights visible. Anyone know of this movie?

The whole point of the zombie movie as metaphor dictates that zombies be slow and stupid. That's the point: regardless of how much smarter and faster you are, they will eventually overrun you because of their sheer numbers, persistence, and the fact that they never sleep.
