Conservative radio/TV hosts use it as propaganda, but according to the CBO and other non-partisan sources 84% pay federal INCOME tax, not 47%. Everybody pays taxes, almost everybody pays federal taxes, and all of the employed pay federal income taxes up front. Her mother was clearly happy to leave the child in the care of her drunk and drug-abusing daughter. If that doesn't set off alarm bells in your head, I dunno what else will. I would expect you to make the same decision the defendant made if you ever find yourself in a similiar situation.
